Hey guys, 29M here.
I'm currently feeling very much burned out and wanted to talk about my parents' weird expectations.
So, I'm co-running a "somewhat" successful marketing company. I make good money, above the national average anyways, I'm paying off my debt. I'm a hard worker.
Unfortunately, even though I make above average, it is not enough for a "great" life. My parents think, me being in a business was a stupid decision, because my pension contributions are minimal (unfortunately that's the way it actually is) and that I should go to college, and get an honest job in some corporation.
I just don't think they really understand (54F, 52M) that things have changed and working a 'regular' job and making a good living is no longer an option.
My net worth at age 29 is around my yearly earnings - is that the case for most people or did I really f-up and should get my act together? I see people younger than me doing dropshipping, daytrading and I'm genuinely starting to think that maybe this isn't the way?

2023.03.22 12:56 MrBuckBuck (Not really) Fun facts & stats from the Wizards' 112-122 loss to the Orlando Magic
A song for the current mood - In the Shadows! Teams:
- The Wizards are now on a 32-40. It was the Wizards' 40th loss of the season
- It was the Wizards' 72nd game of the season, with 10 games remaining for the regular season: Nuggets (tonight, at home), Spurs (home), Raptors (road), Celtics (home), Magic (home), Knicks (road), Bucks (home), Hawks (road), Heat (home) & Rockets (home).
- The Wizards went to 12th place, 2.5 games behind the Bulls (34-37 record) in the 10th place (same record as the Pacers, but Conference Record is worse), 2.5 games are also the same amount of games the Wizards are ahead of the Magic at the 13th place.
- The Wizards are currently 16-18 at home games & 16-22 at road games.
- The Wizards are now 16-19 in the year 2023 (16W & 19L) - from 16-21 to 32-40.
- The Wizards are now 4-10 since the All-Star break.
- The Wizards are now 3-5 without Kyle Kuzma.
- The Wizards are now 12-14 since the trade with Rui Hachimura (12 W & 14 L). Before the trade, the Wizards were 17-13 (17 W & 13 L) with him (in games he played), and 3-13 (3 W & 13 L) in games he wasn't playing. Overall, the Wizards were a 20-26 record before this trade.
- The Wizards had their 3rd consecutive loss, having 3 losses, 1 win & then 3 losses again, after tonight
- The Wizards lost 6 out of their last 8 games, including 8 out of their last 10 games.
- The Magic finally won the Wizards after 7 straight losses, it's their first win since December 27th, 2020 - 113-120 to the Magic.
- The historical head-to-head matchup during the regular season - Washington Wizards vs. the Orlando Magic: 60-74 to the Orlando Magic
- The Wizards are now, including tonight,16-8 (16 W & 8 L) when Beal takes between 9 to 17 FGA in a single game (including 17 & 9) - making anywhere between 13 to 29 points. He had 15 FGA & 16 points tonight. The "funny" thing is that in all the other scenarios (Including when he too twice 7 or fewer FGA because he got injured), the Wizards are still now 6-18 (6W & 18 L) - making 8 points or fewer, or 20 points or more (he had two 20 points game, once 21 points, once 22 points, once 24 points, the rest that isn't 8 or less, or are 25 points or more).
- The Wizards are 4-24 when an opponent scores 117 points or more against them this season.
- The Wizards are also 7-26 in games they score 112 points or less (0-3 when scoring exactly 112 points)
- The Wizards are shooting 36.1% from 3PT or less in their last 6 games, after shooting 10/32 from 3PT (31.3%) tonight), shooting twice in the lower 20% from 3PT as well.
- The Magic scored above 40% (12/27 3PT 44.4%) after 5 straight games shooting 34.5% or lower (twice below 30%).
- The Wizards are now 5-8 in games Kristaps Porzingis scores 30+ points.
- The Wizards tied their 3rd worst rebounding night with 33 rebounds.
- The Magic had their season's 2nd best FT%, with 24/25 (96.0%), as Markelle Fultz ruined the 100% when he missed the Magic's 24th FT attempt (the Magic were 23/23 FT (100%) at that point - a season-high, as the Magic were 20/2 FT vs. OKC on November 1st,2022 - 108-116 L).
- The Magic were 23/23 from FT until Markelle Fultz missed mentioned earlier, so it's likely to assume it's also a season-high for the Magic in terms of straight made free throws this season (I've other games who had 23+ FTA, didn't find, but I want to check again).
- It's the first time this season the Magic scored exactly 122 points tonight, and they are 9-5 in games they score 122 points or more.
- The Magic were insane in the 4th quarter - -12/16 FG (75.0%), 2/2 3PT (100%), 9/10 FT (90.0%), 12 rebounds (1 Off. Reb), 8 assists, a steal & 4 turnovers - 35 points. The Wizards, on the other hand, went 9/20 FG (45.0%), 3/11 3PT (27.3%), 3/5 FT (60.0%) - both misses by Beal, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal & 4 turnovers - 24 points.
- Every player on the Wizards tonight who played scored & also made a field goal attempt. Anthony Gill had his 2 points in 34 seconds.
- The Magic dominated the paint with 52 points in the paint vs. 46 points in the paint by the Wizards, the Wizards had 9 2nd chance points vs. just 2 2nd chance points by the Magic, and the Wizards had 17 fastbreak points vs. 16 fastbreak points by the Magic.
Players:
- Kyle Kuzma missed his 8th game of the season, including 7 out of his last 20 games.

- Bradley Beal got fouled out for the first time this season (6 personal fouls), and for the first time since January 5th, 2022 - 111-114 L to the Rockets.
- Bradley Beal had his 2nd worst FG% game of the season - 4/15 FG (26.7%) - his FG% season-worst is 4/16 FG (25%) vs. the Boston Celtics, on October 30th, 2022 - 94-112 L.
- Bradley Beal scored 13+ points in his last 25 games.
- Bradley Beal had his season 3rd best in terms of walking to the free throw line, as went there 10 times tonight (made 8).
- Bradley Beal went back to his old haircut.
- Kristaps Porzingis had his 13th 30+ points game of the season - a career-high (he had 11 like these in the 2017-18 season & 10 games like it in the 2019-20 season), as well as his 4th game of the season scoring exactly 30 points.
- Kristaps Porzingis had his 5th straight game with 2 blocks or more (2, 2, 4, 2 & 2 blocks tonight).
- Kristaps Porzingis scored his 1,399 points of the season - keeps on shattering his total points in a single season (which was 1,196 points in his sophomore year, in 66 GP). If he maintains this, he will also break his PPG record of 22.7 (48 GP), which currently stands at 22.9 PPG.
- Kristaps Porzingis was the only player among the starting lineup who had a positive +/-, with +6 (though he had some questionable shots at the end).
- Kristaps Porzingis played the 3rd most minutes in a single game he had this season - 38:15 minutes.
- Paolo Banchero scored 12+ points in his last 10 games.
- Paolo Banchero had a career & season 2nd best of 8 assists, 5 games after he had a career & season high of 9 assists in the 126-114 W over the Heat.
- It's the 3rd straight game Franz Wanger scored 20+ points (20 points tonight), after scoring 11 to 17 points in the previous 3 games.
- Gary Harris tied his season-high of 22 points he had on January 25th, 2023 - 126-120 W over the Pacers

Tonight's food is bland like the food you get in the army. Maybe it is because we're tanking, I don't know.
Peace.

2023.03.22 12:47 Fugaazzi California Senators Approve Psychedelics Legalization Bill In Committee
A California Senate committee has approved
a bill to legalize possession of certain psychedelics and facilitated use of the substances. The legislation from Sen. Scott Wiener (D), which was refiled in December
after a more expansive version was derailed last session, cleared the Senate Public Safety Committee in a 3-1 vote on Tuesday and next heads to the Appropriations Committee.
Meanwhile, a Republican lawmaker recently filed a new, narrower Assembly bill aimed at providing access to psychedelic therapy for military veterans. It hasn’t yet been scheduled for any committee action.
The broader measure that is advancing would legalize the “possession, preparation, obtaining, transfer, as specified, or transportation of” specific amounts of psilocybin, psilocyn, DMT, ibogaine and mescaline for personal or facilitated use. Notably, “synthetic” psychedelics like LSD and MDMA would not be legalized, unlike the provisions of the previous version of Wiener’s legislation.
Beside personal possession being legalized, the bill would also specifically provide for “group counseling and community-based healing” involving the entheogenic substances.
It would also repeal state law prohibiting “any spores or mycelium capable of producing mushrooms or other material which contain psilocybin or psilocyn.” The state ban on drug paraphernalia for the covered substances would also be eliminated under the legislation.
“These are not addictive drugs. And these are drugs that have significant potential in helping people to navigate and to become healthy who are experiencing mental health, challenges substance use challenges,” Wiener said at Tuesday’s hearing.
“We know that cities in California and elsewhere have passed resolutions to categorize enforcement of these particular criminal laws as the lowest law enforcement priority,” he said. “This is an important step for California. This is about making sure that people have access to substances that they need that are not addictive.”
Witnesses who testified in favor of the legislation include representatives of the Heroic Hearts Project, the California Public Defenders Association, the City of West Hollywood, a clinical psychologist, a harm reduction expert, a nurse practitioner facing deportation over psychedelics possession and more. Opponents include the California District Attorneys Association and the San Diego district attorneys office.
The prior version of the legislation passed the full Senate and cleared two Assembly committees before Wiener decided to pull it from consideration once its main provisions were gutted by a third Assembly panel.
The new bill contains at least two key changes from the measure that advanced last session.
First, is excludes synthetic psychedelics like LSD and MDMA from the list of substances that would be legalized and focuses only on those that are derived from plants or fungi.
When the prior version of the legislation was in jeopardy near the end of the 2022 session, Wiener sought to make a deal to save it by removing synthetics in an attempt to shift law enforcement organizations from being opposed to neutral on the bill. That move was opposed by advocates and ultimately did not produce a passable proposal.
Peyote is also excluded from the bill’s legalized substances list, which is responsive to concerns raised by some advocates and indigenous groups about the risks of over-harvesting the vulnerable cacti that’s been ceremonially used.
Under the second major change to the bill from last year’s version, it no longer includes a provision mandating a study to explore future reforms. The senator had said that the study language was unnecessary given the high volume of research that’s already been done and continues to be conducted.
The “allowable amount” section of the bill prescribes the following psychedelics possession limits: DMT—2 grams
Ibogaine—15 grams
Psilocybin—2 grams, or up to 4 ounces of “a plant or fungi containing psilocybin”
Psilocyn—2 grams, or up to 4 ounces of “a plant or fungi containing psilocyn.”
Meanwhile, a separate
bill from Assemblymember Marie Waldron (R) was introduced last month to legalize psychedelics-assisted therapy for military veterans.
Specifically, it would allow licensed clinical counselors to administer controlled substances—including but not limited to psilocybin, MDMA, LSD, ketamine and ibogaine—to veterans for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury or addiction.
People who receive the treatment would need to go through a minimum of 30 sessions each lasting at least 12 hours, with at least two two counselors present for each session.
Advocates are optimistic about the prospect of Wiener’s psychedelics legalization bill this round. Not only have California lawmakers had more time to consider the proposal since its original introduction, but there’s significantly more momentum behind psychedelics reform this session as lawmakers in states across the country across the country work to tackle the issue.
Just last week, a Minnesota House committee took up a bill to establish a task force to study and advise on
the potential legalization of psychedelics like psilocybin, MDMA and ibogaine.
Texas lawmakers
recently filed a series of new bills aimed at promoting and expanding psychedelics research in the state.
This month, the Oklahoma House of Representatives approved a bill to
promote research into the therapeutic potential of psilocybin while providing legal protections against prosecution for people with eligible conditions who possess the psychedelic.
Also this month,
a Rhode Island House committee held a hearing on a bill that would remove penalties for the use and possession of psilocybin and allow the home cultivation of psychedelic mushrooms for personal use.
The Washington State Senate recently passed a bill to create
a task force supporting research into psilocybin and develop a pathway for legal access to the psychedelic.
Hawaii’s Senate and House passed
three psychedelics research bills earlier this month.
Missouri lawmakers also cleared a GOP-led bill in committee this month to facilitate research into the
therapeutic potential of certain psychedelics such as psilocybin, MDMA and ketamine.
Those are just a few examples of the types of reforms that legislators across the country are considering this session.
An analysis published in an American Medical Association journal last year concluded that
a majority of states will legalize psychedelics by 2037, based on statistical modeling of policy trends.
A national poll published this month found that a
majority of U.S. voters support legal access to psychedelics therapy and back federally decriminalizing substances like psilocybin and MDMA.

2023.03.22 12:37 keylolo234 Not passed (but not failed) funded challenge in almost a year
So I first started learning how to trade when I was 22 and in college (2019). In May of 2022, I bought my first ever funded challenge and couldn’t make enough profit within the 30 days so I earned my first free retry. Since then, I have done 7 more free retries and still couldn’t make enough profit in time. It’s making me a bit depressed. I know I should be glad that I haven’t failed yet but it’s almost a year since I’ve started and I’m feeling down.
When I see a setup or when there is a certain news release that I have no previous knowledge on, I’ll just watch and see what happens, and I’ll go back like a year on the charts and backtest that specific news and make a rule. If I see a pattern I don’t recognize or if there’s anything off to me I’ll do the same thing. This is definitely why I haven’t passed yet because a lot of these trades I’ve watched were winners but I just sat out instead of taking action. There are weeks where I’ll spend 30-40 hours backtesting, and honestly learning something new or figuring out a correlation makes me very happy. I’ve been trying to make my strategy mechanical since my problem was originally being afraid to enter, and now I’m no longer afraid. I have a whole database of thousands of screenshots with tags so I can go look back for reference, and I’m more confident in my analysis than ever. I finally have an if —> then strategy which has been my goal due to the kind of person I am. I’m pretty much done backtesting as I’ve done the last 18 months worth since I started my first funded challenge last year, but now I find myself impatient and stressed out because I’ve been seeing my setup less because my rules are so specific. I’ve also found myself considering just taking “it is what it is” trades just so I can get it over with, which is undisciplined and I know I’d probably fail that way. My RR is 1% per setup and I always enter twice so 0.5% per entry. My first tp is 2R and my second is whatever FVG or liquidity I see price heading towards which can be 2.5R+. I’m not sure my point of typing this, I guess I’m just venting because I have no one in my life that trades but I’m open to any constructive criticism or tips.
Also does anyone want to be friends? 😭 Trading is a huge part of my life yet I literally haven’t discussed trading with anyone in months. I don’t talk to my family or friends about it because they know how long I’ve been trading and I know they’re judging me because I’m not successful yet. They would not understand what I’m going through at all and and I’d like to meet more like minded people. Trading is lonely lol

2023.03.22 12:37 CombTimee Fed has gone to contain a banking crisis that some argue is unlike any other
While the effects of the current banking crisis in the US play out and the Federal Reserve injects $300 billion into the economy, the cryptocurrency market is up.
According to Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView data, Bitcoin has increased by 7%, Ether by 4%, and Binance Coin by 5.7% in the past day.
As the week's highs were also its greatest performance since June 2022, Bitcoin is once again testing those levels thanks to a widespread surge in the cryptocurrency markets. Do you believe that bulls keep gaining traction?
With the help of Toshi tools, I'll monitor this.
Many people believe that the Fed has moved to contain a banking crisis that some claim is unique from all others.
It appears that cryptocurrency is one of the few safe havens from the kind of turbulence reminiscent of the Global Financial Crisis of 2008, despite predictions that more banks could fail in the upcoming weeks and contagion spread to Europe. What forecasts do you have?

2023.03.22 12:31 ohHeyItsJack Sudden Performance Drop and Capped Safari Download Speed
Hey All,
I have a 2017 MacBook Pro, 14,1 A1708, 2.3GHz Dual-core, 8GB 2133MHz, 250GB running macOS Ventura v13.2.1 and I've noticed recently (2023, maybe November 2022) it's been super slow. Performance has tanked. I've also noticed that Safari download seems to be capped at 14kbps. Chrome downloads OK. I run a Startech dock so at first I thought maybe it was that, but downloading on WiFi, Hotspot to my iPhone or Ethernet via the dock all have the same, 14kbps capped speed on Safari.
Downloading a 40MB file had an eta of almost an hour on Safari, but instantly downloaded on chrome. Running
speediest.net showed 48MBps and that was using private relay.
I'm always the first to back Apple and believe they don't intentionally slow older machines, but is there something I can look for? I'm going to fresh image in in the next day or so, but tbh that's such a pita if I can avoid it I'd prefer not to.
Thanks in advance all and I realise and apologise, I'm aware this question comes up a lot.

2023.03.22 12:30 Agile-Caterpillar421 How can worker co-ops work under socialism?
I can't see how co-ops could work in a free market while trying to reach the objective of socialism, income and wealth equality.
Example: You have worker co-ops in different industries. If you have a free market some will invariably earn more than others, either they have more efficient production if they are in the same industry or they will be operating in an industry that is growing and/or has higher profit margins.
In a free market you have winners and losers even worker co-ops can't avoid that as long as they are competing against each other which they must in a free market.
Of course worker co-ops will care more about their own co-ops than others so they will keep the profits for themselves.
The end result is that some worker co-ops will get rich and others will be poor. There won't be any wealth equality as long as there is a free market.
But at least the capitalists won't be extracting surplus value from workers anymore so that must be worth it?
The average profit margin of a company is just 7.5%, so wages in co-ops could increase a few percent at best without surplus value extraction and that assumes worker co-ops will be an equally efficient form of organization.
Some objectives that socialists might have:
- There will be no profit.
You need to use money as a medium of exchange for trade otherwise you don't have an economy. If there is money there must be profit as well. Profit is just net money earned.
- There won't be a free market.
If there is no free market you need to give up control to a central authority. That's no longer worker owned production. It would be state owned/controlled.

2023.03.22 12:15 Own_Establishment469 Allopurinol, Gout, and Lifestyle
I just got my fourth ever flare up of gout, but compared to the previous ones it was no where near as painful. The last attack was in July of 2022 and it seems that there is an average of 6-10 months in between attacks. Over the last year and a half or two years I lost 90lbs, I plan to lose even more, I'm 250lb now and almost 6 foot, I exercise five times a week, and I'm a vegetarian so I feel like I'm doing well with dieting, except I eat a lot of spinach which I hear mixed opinions about in the gout community of Reddit. So, is it worth starting medication, specifically allopurinol? Also worth noting is that I'm doing a diet similar to keto but that only started three months ago. I had a blood test a few months ago and my uric acid was crazy high, like 12.6 or something, but I wasn't in any kind of pain. This lady attack also happened while I had a respiratory infection or bronchitis. I hear that allopurinol can be bad for your liver too, but so is high uric acid?

2023.03.22 12:06 edgeworth_artist Chatham Dockyard Diary Episode 18 - Painting, Stuckism and Imaginary art scenes
| Since June last year, I’ve been keeping a YouTube video diary of my Monday afternoon painting sessions at Billy Childish’s studio in Chatham’s Historic Dockyard in Medway, Kent. Billy kindly invited me round in winter 2013 and I never left. The videos are intended to be exclusively of my solo work, but Heckel’s Horse (collaborations between Billy and myself), Billy Childish, Gretchen Andrew and Huddie Hamper paintings occasionally and inevitably appear in shot. There are 18 episodes so far with a goal of one per week or fortnight. https://preview.redd.it/i643kf3pv9pa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d69cbc868eae92935941ac350a4c11c3df7511d It’s a five hour bus, train and walk round trip from Muswell Hill. More travel time than painting. When I had a car it was two hours depending on the Blackwall tunnel. I know, fascinating. Get the full story in my YouTube video interview with Charles Thomson, who in 1999 formed the Stuckism art group (it’s not a movement) with Billy, who left 2001 having apparently stomached it for as long as he could. I formed The Other Muswell Hill Stuckists in 2005, being its only member until 2008. I first met Charles at an exhibition of abstract paintings at La Viande gallery in Shoreditch. I mistakenly thought it was a Stuckist show, so went home and berated it, and the Stuckists, online for being so rubbish and unStuckist. https://preview.redd.it/urj1i84sv9pa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=730db1c8911dbc5048e6d79a0f9bf226ac13daa1 Although I’m from Muswell Hill, I like to believe I’m part of a Medway art scene even though no part of it, should it exist, has engaged with me in any meaningful way. There was an exhibition of the studio’s work at Sun Pier House in Chatham a while ago, which I expected would lead to some engagement, but didn’t. It’s like when I was in bands, I assumed we’d instantly be teleported into smokey gatherings of fellow brotherly musicians lounging around on bean bags. You always hear about these ‘scenes’ but the closer you get to them, the clearer it is they either don’t exist or fucking hate me. Out of this though, we have The Black Ivory Printmaking & Audio Club. The closest thing to a real art scene I’ve experienced. https://preview.redd.it/oex91ehuv9pa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f47b5a6aadc82c7af7da9e99fe20b58fe058060 The video series advertises my forthcoming Heckel’s Horse Jr. exhibition at Highgate Gallery, London in March 2024: March 2024: My next exhibition: Exhibition Title: Heckel’s Horse Jr. Venue: Highgate Gallery at Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution 11 South Grove London N6 6BS Private View: 8th March 2024, 6 – 8.30pm Exhibition runs until 21st March 2024 https://preview.redd.it/rl5hx5mwv9pa1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e79d330bf7324bad2681e688f6b58de8208fa5ce Heckel’s Horse Jr. is not to be confused with Heckel’s Horse. Heckel’s Horse Jr. is Edgeworth Johnstone. Under this alias, Johnstone paints copies of Heckel’s Horse paintings in his home studio in Muswell Hill, London. Heckel’s Horse is a painting collaboration between Billy Childish and Edgeworth Johnstone. Since 2013, Childish and Johnstone have made roughly 200 paintings together, at Childish’s studio in Chatham Dockyard. submitted by edgeworth_artist to Edgeworths_Art [link] [comments] |
2023.03.22 12:01 Isacmans Forgot to include form 1099G
So I just did my 2022 taxes and realized that I didn’t include form 1099G for about $600 worth of state tax refund from 2021.
I’m currently living in the UK and filed my taxes as an expat, and I can’t get ahold of my accountant from last year so I’m not sure if he itemized my refund (he never really sent my 1040)
Will the IRS automatically catch this mistake? Should I amend?
I’m guessing it doesn’t matter much because as an expat I don’t really have to pay US taxes, but I don’t want to get in trouble with the IRS.

2023.03.22 11:59 Spirited-Love-1422 Taking a chemo break?
Mum (69 y/o) was diagnosed with stage IV & mets to the liver back in August 2022. She has been on Gemcitabine+Abraxane since September. 3 weeks on, 1 week off, then repeat. She has had 3 scans, the first showed not much change, but the second & third showed that tumours in both the pancreas & liver had reduced in size "significantly." She still will not be eligible for a whipple.
She has been tolerating the constant 6 months of chemo well, and still manages to live a relatively normal life, eating well, going out for walks, seeing friends, family, playing with her grandchild etc. Apart from the first 1/2 days after chemo where she is very weak. Her body is obviously being ravaged by the chemo though as it accumulates... lack of taste, hair loss, fatigue, bowel problems and more recently finger + toe pain (her nails look like they're starting to fall off bless her, she struggled to tear a piece of bread in half the other day 💔).
She has been wondering about taking a chemo break, to let her body regain a little strength, does anyone have any experience or knowledge in this? She is worried about the affect that it will have on the tumours - are they likely to grow much bigger in this time? Is it worth the risk? She wants to fight this disease for as long as she can, and doesn't want to ruin any effort she's already put in. I know nothing can be said for sure as everyone is different, but any thoughts please? 💜

2023.03.22 11:54 Sogggy_ [Hardware] AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT & XTX Meta Review

2023.03.22 11:48 f1newsbot How Mercedes are escaping 'dead-end street' with W14
Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff says he is optimistic that his team are gradually understanding the troublesome W14, rejecting the notion that the Silver Arrows are seeking to take inspiration from other teams' designs.
The Brackley-based squad kept faith with their zero-sidepod design from 2022, but it quickly became apparent that the car remain some way off the pace-setting Red Bulls, and Wolff took the unusual step of admitting even before the Bahrain Grand Prix that Mercedes would look to change the concept of the W14.
Speaking after George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished fourth and fifth in Jeddah, Wolff said Mercedes were slowly understanding more about their 2023 challenger.
"If you look at the Red Bulls, they're just so quick," Wolff told Sky Sports F1.
"I think we understand the car more. I'm looking optimistic to the future, because we just need to put it in a different window.
"We are changing the bodywork of the car, how the floor works, all of these things.
"Mechanically, we're looking at certain areas and the team in Brackley is just flat out."
Wolff added that Mercedes had come to realise that their current concept had no prospect of being successful, and that the team had decided to cut their losses on it.
"We headed into one direction last year and we wanted to make it work, and it worked and it got better and better," said Wolff.
"But now, we really realised it's a dead-end street. These are the facts and everybody knows that now. So we turned around and we're running fast out of that dead-end street."
The Austrian also rejected the notion that Mercedes would look to take inspiration from Red Bull or Aston Martin, both of whose cars have proven quicker than Mercedes so far in 2023.
"I don't know you can call it a Red Bull or Aston Martin concept," Wolff added.
"If it looked like an English double decker bus, we would do it if it was fast. Put a little Red Bull sticker, if they want to put it on.
"It's just about pure performance; we have no dogma on who invented it."
