I’m supposed to graduate at the end of the summer but I need one more course which is a His course at a 400 level. The only one offered is the independent reading course which requires a Professor to accept being an advisor.
Till now, everyone has either said no, ignored me, or if they do accept, they’re not full-time professors so they’re not allowed to supervise the course.
I can’t see how it’s fair to make me wait here an entire other semester (international student) just cuz the university doesn’t have any courses available.
Do you guys know what options are available, if an amount of students get together and ask for a class could they convince admin to open one?
Also if you happen to be a humanities full time professor and are willing to do advise in a 498 course please let me know

I 18f live with my mom 39f. She has been absent and abusive in every way possible my entire life. Her abuse comes in different forms, for example, every type of emotional abuse you can think of; being too busy to be a mom and making me raise myself; not providing necessities to survive. Because of her and a lot of other aspects, I have developed many mental illnesses that I need to deal with every day. So here's where I need advice. I can not physically and mentally take this anymore. I need to move out, but that is impossible to achieve. If I get a job I won't be able to pay attention to school and I probably wouldn't even be able to get an apartment because of the cost of living/economy. On the other hand, I can't stay here because my mental health is getting worse every day and I can't afford to go to a therapist. How do I get out without destroying myself and my future?

Throw away account. I’ve been married to my wife for 7 years, and we have 3 children (5yoM, 3yoF, and a 9moM). Progressively with each child born, my wife’s desire to have sex has dwindled. I’ve had several conversations with her about the importance of sex for me, but she will tell me things such as “I feel touched out from the kids all day”/“I don’t have your sex drive”/“having sex more than once a week isn’t normal”, etc. When we do have sex, I try everything to make it about her and make sure she has an orgasm, but none of it has caused any appreciable change in her desires. For context, I feel as though I’m doing everything I can to be a great husband and father. When I get home from work, I cook dinner about half the days of the week. I also put the two older kids to bed every night and clean up the house after they are in bed while my wife puts the baby to sleep. I’m a physician and make >$500K/year, and thus we are able to live easily on my salary alone. She is a nurse, but currently works one day a week (primarily just to get out of the house and have a break from the kids). I’ve told her many times that she can work as much as she wants, or she can stop working altogether, and so her working this one day a week is her choosing. We live in a beautiful home in a nice part of the city, have a house cleaner that comes once a week, take nice vacations, she has a brand new SUV, and money has never been an issue just to name a few notable things.
All that being said, she constantly acts as though her life is harder than mine and that she is jealous that I get to go to work and have a “break” from the kids (even though I’m a physician in the OR and deal with many traumatic and life-threatening conditions on a daily basis).
In summary I’m afraid that she has made up her mind that sex once a week (MAX) is more than enough and she won’t change even though it’s making me feel miserable. Any advice is appreciated.

Long story short. I(14 f) am aroace and decided to come out to my therapist. As I told her 3 months ago on sesion that I have crush, she asked me about it and I told her I was just trying to force myself to fall in love. She told me I am too young and girls my age still don't have crushes. Ironic how she talked about her grandson who is 7 and had 2 crushes already moment before. So I responded to her message to day after she sent the message. We made small talk to see how our lives are, and to gage how her headspace was at. She then asked again to meet up for a drink, and a basically responded with "I appreciate the offer for a drink, but honestly, I'm not really in the right headspace right now. You messaging me after all this time made some previous feelings from the past come back, feelings that I've worked hard to work past. I also know that you've been through a breakup recently, and I feel like its not the right time for the both of us to meet up. I may be reading this wrong, but with what has happened in the past, I think that its best to just work on ourselves. I still want our friendship, and if she needs someone to talk to, you can text me anytime. But we both need to have time to ourselves and see where we are afterwards. Again, thank you for the offer and I wish you the best."
She took a while to respond back to me, and she responded with, "Hey, I understand and will respect the space that you need, and I will do the same with taking time for myself. I never really understood how you've been after what happened, and I'm sorry for not reaching out more. That was really messed up for me to not do that. I hope you forgive me and hopefully in the near future we can hang out with you and others from school. Thank you for messaging me back and I wish you the best."
So it went better than I thought and I'm in a better place after reading her message.

She always had an imagination for everything, she thought she was always meant to fall in love, may be all those romantic love stories she read growing up or the movies she watched drove her imaginations wild. she would always run in the savanna with the flowy long skirt, and this guy would chase her and hold her hands and say 'I love you ' and she will melt in those arms, but this was nothing like she ever imagined. She was here sitting on a dusty desk , in an old classroom ,not in a flowy white skirt not she was being chased on a meadows, but this was perfect , perfect way to express love. Good Morning!
I’m currently running a Cybergun featherweight M249 with the A&K 1500 round box mag and I’ve noticed an odd issue. I’m using a MOSFET, an 11.1v battery, and I installed a selector switch to let me use burst while on semi auto. However recently I’ve had some feed issues…the first round of investigation turned up a hop/bucking alignment issue which I’ve fixed resulting in my fully auto MOSTLY working as intended. However when I’m using semi auto my mag tube only feeds every other round. If I wiggle the tube a bit while I’m shooting I can hear the bb shift into the chamber and it’ll fire fine and I can shoot semi auto without issue. However if I don’t touch the tube it will always dry fire every other round. So clearly the issue is the tube on my mag. I’ve tried shifting it around with a rubber band to see if I could find a sweet spot but thus far no luck. The tube does have one small defect in the coils where they’re separated a bit (ie not coiled as tightly) near where the tube goes into the mag well adapter. It doesn’t look like the BBs are snagging there but I’m not sure - I can provide pictures if needed. Anyone have experience with this issue? It’s been issue after issue with this gun. Side note the hicap that came with the gun feeds fine every time. Oh and also I use the manual pressure switch to drive the mag so that’s always depressed while firing. Thanks!

I adopted a GSM rescue last year. He tested negative for heartworm at the shelter, and my vet didn't retest until his annual physical last week. He's been on preventive meds since I adopted him. The initial antigen test was positive and she's waiting to confirm the results. She thinks he picked it up at the shelter right before they tested him, so it didn't show up yet. He doesn't have any symptoms.
He's very sweet and usually pretty chill in the house, but he gets SUPER excited when the doorbell rings, when people come over, and when he's getting his harness and/or leash on to go outside. He doesn't have a crate, because he's never really needed one--he will go in another room to hang out alone if he wants space, and he usually just wants to chill near me anyway when we're not playing. I think trying to crate-train him now quickly enough to make a difference wouldn't help much--and he might get more anxious and try to get out. He's also somewhat reactive to other dogs--he wants to say hi, but gets really excited and pulls and tries to run and drag me over) and wants to chase wildlife. I always take him on a leash and harness, but he's very strong and can still get in quick bursts of pulling/running. Even our yard isn't 100% safe-- the other night a fox dashed out from the bushes 3 feet from us and sprinted across the yard, and of course he (on his leash) wanted to go after it. There are a lot of bunnies in our yard, and a dog lives next door who goes nuts behind the fence when he's nearby on the other side in our yard, and sometimes he reacts to her. Then his nemesis lives behind us and sometimes gets in our yard, and they fight every time they see each other and I have to pull them apart. He also reacts if he even HEARS that dog from inside the house. The other issue is, he refuses to poop in the yard unless things are DIRE, and THAT stresses him out, so he probably has to go on at least short walks. We've been working hard on his reactivity, and he's doing much better, but it still happens sometimes and even one incident could cause an embolism...
I'm not sure what I can do to keep him safe during treatment. He really is chill in the house 99% of the time, but that 1%... Should I ask the landlady if I can disconnect the doorbell temporarily? He usually doesn't react to people near the door otherwise unless they come inside-- he's used to deliveries getting dropped off. Should I put up a sign? I think gating him would also be counterproductive and he'd try to jump over it. I have very flexible work from home, but I'm a lawyer and I can't just not go to court for six weeks, so I'll have to be gone sometimes. I also don't know what to do about taking him out and the reactivity-- he's worse when he's been cooped up, too. I'm planning to ask the vet about meds/calming stuff, but I'm so worried--what if the meds don't work? He's my best boy, I can't let anything happen to him.
Does anyone have any advice for keeping him and his environment calm for 4-8 weeks?!

25f Hi, first time posting.
I had suspected that I was pre-diabetic for a little while but couldn’t go get tested because of finances (also being taught I shouldn’t trust doctors because of big Pharma). But I really wanted to put my health first this time. I’ve been going to the gym for about a month and I’m honestly loving it! I love knowing how strong I am.
We finally switched insurance and can actually afford to see a doctor now. So, the first thing I did was schedule a physical. The Doctor ordered the works for me; I’m getting an EKG for my heart palpitations, a genetics test done because there’s a genetic cancer in my family line, even setting me up with a therapist so I can get my anxiety diagnosed. She ordered a shit ton of blood tests for me, most of which came back good.
But my blood sugar came back at 8.9 when the normal range is belong like 5.5. I’ve been googling and 9.0 is when they start you on insulin.
I can’t talk to my doctor about this until Tuesday at the earliest. I have to sit on this on a holiday weekend and pretend everything is fine when I just want to breakdown. Seriously freaking out and I don’t know what to do.
(I’m not looking for help understanding the test results, I understand them completely. I’m just posting to help me process everything.)

Every thing is going so well except it took me almost nearly 20% when running with music (I run wo my phone connect, the terrain is normal city street) Other activities is really normal, running ar 10k with out music just took me around 4/5%. Unfortunately, The Little Mermaid is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it’s not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.
While Disney eventually releases its various studios’ films on Disney Plus for subscribers to Watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don’t arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film’s theatrical release.
The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year’s third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film’s $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it’s not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It’d be another story if audiences didn’t love the film,but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year’s earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).
As for the rest of the box office, there’s little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there’s still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses,but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.
The Little Mermaid, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn’t totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn’t a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it’s the biggest of any film since The Little Mermaid, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.
The Little Mermaid came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season’s most durable grossers and one of the year’s few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )
, which isn’t surprising considering it’s the only family film on the market, and it’s The Little Mermaid to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open.
Finishing up the top five is The Little Mermaid, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a 10 million from a budget of just $20 million.

TGR Tomo Notes: 

• This Silver Tomo is in excellent condition used for about 3 weeks of light use.
• Hotswap PCB, Polycarbonate Plate
• IMPORTANT: upper case is slightly scratched ONLY from the inside. Scratches are located on some edges of the upper frame where PCB is "dropped" in. Scratches are NOT visible at all from outside when assembled. Scratches came from my dumb carelessness when trying to mount the o-ring. ^{[Please see picture #20 to #22 in Timestamps for in-detail pictures]}
• Other than scratches from inside edges of upper case, near flawless condition everywhere else. Especially the Silver alu outside and brass weight
• In picture #10, there is a very very slight scuff on the bottom right side corner, but it is honestly very hard to see. My phone camera can barely pick even it up, but just for reference.
• Comes with personally tuned TX Stabs already.
• All screws torqued only until my first feel of resistance
• Comes with all accessories included when shipped to me (which includes the o-ring, not currently mounted). The keeb will be wrapped with the included microfiber cloth. I did not have the Kaban carrying case.
• Will be shipped in original slide-out box. I cut out the first two foam-safety bars on the packaging so that the Tomo can fit in there better. See picture #26 for detail.

 

Has anyone used Fraxel for treatment of scarring, raised skin or hypopigmentation? My tattoo is almost fully gone. I do have some stubborn green left. But I have a lot of hypopigmentation which is leaving me feeling just as self conscious as my tattoo. I continue to keep my skin covered as a result.
I tried several sessions of micro needling. I think it helped a bit with the texture and raised look but really not nearly enough to continue with it. I have had two treatments of Fraxel so far. I don’t see much difference yet. Has anyone successfully completed sessions with Fraxel or have photos of progress? I need some inspiration and motivation to continue!

The pilot’s voice faded as I stared out the window. My teenage son, Fawaz, was playing chess on his iPhone. I turned around and tapped his shoulder.
“Excited to see your grandparents?” I asked.
“Yeah Dad! Haven’t seen them in so long,” Fawaz exclaimed before refocusing on his game.
The engines gradually activated, releasing a magnificent roar. After takeoff, I marveled at the afternoon sun-illuminated, desert landscape. I slumped against my cushiony seat, draped a blanket around myself, and selected a movie on my monitor.
For dinner, I had tomato soup, pan-fried lamb, steamed rice, and cheesecake. I watched as darkness engulfed us, the scarlet sun disappearing into the horizon.
An hour later, I was preparing to sleep when the pilot made an announcement.
“Folks, we’re currently flying over Greenland. We’re getting unconfirmed reports of passenger airliners disappearing near our scheduled path over Europe. Please don’t panic and remain in your seats. Unless more information becomes available, this flight will continue normally. Seatbelt signs are on.”
“Dad, what was that about?” Fawaz asked.
“No idea. It’s probably nothing,” I replied.
I noticed some passengers talking amongst themselves. It was pitch-black outside, minus the rhythmically-blinking wingtip lights and the brightened, golden Arabic logo on the engine. The turbines hummed peacefully. 30 minutes later, the captain spoke.
“Folks, we’re getting warnings of European airports and airspaces under attack. We’ll be taking a detour over Africa. I apologize for the delay.”
I heard passengers groan. 30 minutes later, another announcement came.
“Folks, we’re getting warnings of African, Asian, and American airports and airspaces under attack. Until further instructions are given, we’ll remain airborne over the Northern Atlantic Ocean.”
At this point, I was worried. Fawaz fearfully stared at me as I consoled him. 30 minutes later, another announcement.
“Folks, we’ll be making an emergency, at-sea landing. All airports and airspaces across the world are under attack and no longer safe. Flight 310, prepare for –”
A deafening, horn-like blast rattled the airplane. I peered outside and saw three white, triangularly-arranged lights. The lights were on the “forehead” of a colossal, biomechanical object. Three slender legs jutted from below, and multiple tentacles swarmed under its “mouth.” Passengers screamed. The object let out another menacing roar as it pointed a glowing blue tentacle at my window. Within seconds, a blue flash swallowed the airplane. I fainted.
I opened my eyes and looked outside. Rusty-orange clouds drifted below. The sky was an uncanny crimson. I caught a glimpse of three passenger jets briefly peaking through the dense clouds. I gazed at Fawaz and the other passengers, who were still unconscious. The intercoms buzzed, and the pilot spoke in a composed voice.
“Folks, welcome to the Beyond. An endless realm with poisonous air and no solid ground, millions of light-years from Earth. This aircraft will be your eternal home, for there is no escape from the Beyond.”

Hello. I am Moon, or J. I have only been DMing for a short time, but I believe Im doing pretty well. I am starting up a game that is on Thursday nights, from 6pm-10pm Eastern Standard Time. I want to make this perfectly clear, I am looking for players that will show up, and be on time. I want to play consistently, and I need players that will honor that. Now, we are all adults, and shit happens, I won't be judging for that, but I want players that will be there more often than not.
I am not against new players, however I would prefer if you had some experience, as I plan on starting at level 10. This is to allow variety in your characters, as well as be able to handle the trials ahead.
Starting magic items will be as follows: 1 legendary(will explain), 1 very rare, 1 rare, and 1 uncommon. The legendary item you choose will be nerfed by me, and re-empowered within the campaign, almost like an artifact, but not nearly as powerful. My reasoning is, you are level 10 adventurers, you have probably found a powerful item at some point.
I also want to make clear homebrew is a huge YES. My 2 main requirements are that it fits the setting, so no sci-fi stuff, unless you can flavor it well, or you can make a good argument on why it should work. Also, I need to see whatever it is, to ensure it's not too OP compared to the rest of the party.
I encourage creativity. The Rule of Cool is a big part of my personal playstyle as well as my DM style. I want you to have fun, and try the wacky stuff.
