Liquid Rolls Back the Years (to 2019 not 2018)

Who had Liquid 0-2 to 3-2 in the BLAST Paris Challengers Stage?
After getting embarrassed by Apeks & ForZe on Day 1, few believed NA’s darlings would recover from their disastrous start... until they got matched against Fluxo in the 0-3 pool.
Fluxo got 16-2’d by paiN -- how could Liquid lose?
(If I had a nickel for every time I asked that question I wouldn't be writing this)
In classic Liquid fashion, they gave their 14 year old fanbase multiple heart attacks throughout the series. Despite being pushed to the edge, Liquid pulled through to live on at the Major. After steamrolling their NA brethren in Complexity, Liquid faced Grayhound for the last spot in the Legends stage. It was a layup of a match for them, taking care of the dawgs in two maps and continuing their major run.
Surprisingly, they didn’t choke on the opening day of Legends. They destroyed 9INE and Na’Vi to go 2-0, off the back of a disgusting match by YEKINDAR.
Liquid 3-0 pickers slept happy that night, but their bubble was popped the following day 🫧
Up against their kryptonite (5 dudes from Denmark) Liquid failed to take down Heroic to earn their berth in playoffs, which tee’d them up for a 2-1 match against Into the Breach. The Brits vs. Americans — what year is this, 1781?
Liquid made quick work of the world’s 28th best team on an overtime Overpass and one-sided Anubis, securing their spot among the 8 final teams in the Paris major. Despite not going 3-0, Liquid have made NA proud once again — perfect timing for the final CS:GO Major.

🇩🇰 Heroic and Vitality 🐝

I had Heroic as my 3-0 until I switched them for ENCE. Please do not ask me how I’m doing.
ZywOo decided he wanted to win Paris, so that was cool ig. Bro dropped a 1.38 rating in their 3-0 run. Playing in his home city must’ve awoken something inside of him. Rumor has it the air quality is perfect in Paris — and this has something to do with his performances. On the Heroic side — they swept aside FaZe and Apeks en route to their playoffs speedrun. They took down Liquid in the 2-0 pool for the cherry on top 🍒

G-2 Disappointing Majors in a Row

Déjà vu anyone?
At least this time G2 actually made it to the major before bombing out in the Swiss Stage 🧀 After losing their opening match to the ZywOo Effect™️, they fumbled the bag by losing 16-13 to an org-less Bad News Eagles 🦅
G2's backs were against the ropes — one Bo3 away from elimination in the final Major of CS:GO. FURIA were next in line for G2, but their crippling lack of T-Sides allowed G2 to live another day. In the 1-2 pool, G2 found themselves against the mezii-led fnatic in a game with elimination on the line. After taking each of their own map picks, the two euro-mixes found themselves on the game’s best fucking map for elimination:

nicoodoz came alive on the final map to turn the tides in favor of fnatic, who took the map 16-13. Minutes later, there were numerous reports of Chinese phone numbers hitting up members of G2.

The PLAYOFFS:

ZywOo decided this was his tournament to win. The Chosen One and his friends took home the slimy dorito trophy in front of the home crowd 🥖
Vitality scooped up their first major in an undefeated playoff run against some of the best teams in the world — Into the Breach, Apeks, and GamerLegion.
Yes. You are reading that correctly. To say they had an easy run is… an understatement. Sure, you can only face who is in front of you, and props to them for capitalizing. It just feels kinda lame how the playoffs of the final CS:GO major played out.
In other news, dupreeh took home his fifth Major title in Vitality’s dream run.
This makes him:

• The only player to have won 5 majors 🎖
• The only player that has attended every major in history 🥇
• The player with the most career earnings all-time 💰
• The only player with the right to use that amazing Faze down, Ass up deagle nickname lmao 🔥

This dude really went from sweating bullets to sweating major trophies, huh?

R.I.P DIAMOND COINS AGAIN 💎

When the Major comes around, there’s one CS:GO fans always like to bitch about — their Pick 'Ems. According to Leetify, only 0.3% of players got the diamond coin this time around. This was better than Rio’s 0.1%, but still abysmal compared to the 8% and 11% of Berlin and Antwerp respectively.
Why did so few get the coin this time? Some of the biggest names failed to make it out of the legends stage. Teams like G2 and Na’Vi. The ones that did, like Heroic and Liquid, didn’t even make it past the semis. I don’t know about you, but the absolute last thing I was expecting was GamerLegion in the final. Here’s some of the notable matches that led to this wild playoff bracket:

• fnatic 2-1 versus G2 (ouch)
• GamerLegion 2-1 versus Heroic (ouch again)
• Apeks 2-0 versus Liquid
• Into the Breach 2-1 versus fnatic (UK on UK violence smh)

Guys This Isn’t a Disney Movie Why Are All These Underdogs Here 😳

Let’s talk about the people who pulled off the upsets, who shook the scene to its core throughout the last major ever.
First on the list is Mihai “iM” Ivan from GamerLegion. This guy was turning heads all tournament with his outstanding level of play against the very best.
Despite him and his team getting off to a disastrous start of 0-2 in the challengers stage, they fought their way all the way to the Grand Final. He ended the tournament with a stupid 1.35 HLTV rating, trailing only ZywOo.
Apex Legends Apeks Playoffs
Another team that surprised everyone has to be Apeks— remember guys like STYKO, jkaem, or nawwk? They impressed everyone by stealing a spot in the semis over NA’s darling.
In a run that seemingly came out of no where, yet another random mix of EU players stormed the game’s biggest stage, broke countless hearts, put up a solid fight against the eventual trophy lifters.
I'm just glad I didn’t put any money on these games. If I did, I’d probably have to resort to writing a CS:GO newsletter just to make rent! Wait...

• It provides a chaotic mix of traditional and modern units even late into the game. You can have battles between traditional armies, or modern slugfests (of both sides having bolt-action rifles such as the Fusil Modèle 1874s and Gewehr 71s, Maxim machine guns, and breech-loaded artillery guns such as Lahitolle 95 mm cannon), or throwing hordes of musket/spear armed infantry at the modern units.
  
• Every faction has a distinct set of play style and challenges
  
• Potential for a battle royal situation if enough of the competing factions decide to duke it out directly.
  

Timeline start: Either right before the First Opium War kicks off (giving players the option to find ways to avoid the war, or do things differently from how history played out) or the immediate aftermath of the war.
Timeline end: Somewhere around 1900's
Factions:
Qing Dynasty

• Major advantage: Immense population and economy, which could allow the player to grind down small modern forces with sheer manpower, assuming they aren't distracted by multiple ongoing rebellions throughout the map while also dealing with a foreign invasion.

This is also where the Qing and the rebels can have many reinforcement army stacks within the same battle for a long running grind, which will be problematic for the smaller modern forces if they can't break the hordes' morale fast enough. After all, what good are rifles and cannons when they run out of ammunition and the 6th reinforcement full-stack army showed up to replace all of the earlier shattered units?

Some 20 million people died and 17 provinces were ravaged in this political and religious upheaval, which took place from 1850 to 1864
As the Taiping rebels crossed the countryside, their ranks had swelled from several thousand ragged peasants to more than 1 million disciplined and eager soldiers.

• Challenges: Survive (Think of the Western Roman Empire in TW: Attila, except this time in the industrial era). Corruption is incredibly rampant, but trying to crack down on that too hard and governors/generals may rebel.

Modernization will be necessary to prevent the foreign factions from continuing to carve up the Qing (which will cause even more rebellions in the remaining Qing provinces), but modernize too fast and it will cause its own rebellions (TW: S2 Fall of the Samurai style) or even have governors/generals rebel.
While the Qing and other factions may choose to seek foreign backing for easier modernization, aligning with one foreign faction means that foreign faction has free rein over the other faction, and thus could cause internal unrest, unbalanced trade agreements and other problems. It also means other foreign factions will be more hostile to that other faction if they were already hostile to that particular foreign faction (e.g. aligning with the Russians means the Japanese will not be too happy about that and thus risk getting the player dragged into a Russian vs. Japanese conflict).
Joseon (Korean dynasty)

• Major advantage: Initially foreign factions will focus on the Qing Dynasty, which gives the player some time to try to deal with the corruption and internal rebellions and prepare for the inevitable showdown.
  
• Challenges: Still have to pay tributes to the Qing Dynasty, which the player can opt to break that treaty and accept the consequences for it. Eventually foreign factions will come knocking on the door. Modernization is even harder, unless the player risks significant internal instability to get the Joseon to break its isolationism.
  

Tibet

• Major advantage: Like the Joseon, has some time to prepare for the inevitable conflict.
  
• Challenges: A hostile British faction may opt to use its Indian forces to the south of Tibet to invade, especially as the Qing continues to weaken. Modernization is also difficult.
  

Northern nomadic tribes

• Major advantage: Mass traditional cavalry go brrr
  
• Challenges: Player can choose to stay aligned with the Qing, or rebel (which could risk a war on all sides, against the Qing and the other nomadic tribes). The Russia and Japanese factions will come knocking.
  

Should a nomadic tribe modernize or get major foreign backing, carbine/revolver cavalry and towed machine guns and light artillery guns go brrr.
Foreign colonial factions (Great Britain, France, Japan, Russia, United States, Germany and etc)

• All of them have their own flavors and sub-challenges, such as the Russian faction whose main victory condition is a warm water port and a railroad link to it (which predictably pits it against the Japanese faction's victory goal to control Manchuria and German faction's victory goal to dominate the Qingdao region).
  
• Some factions won't show up until mid/late game, such as Japan.
  
• Major advantage: Generally have a significant technology advantage
  
• Challenges: Generally limited quantity of forces and the colonial factions' victory goals conflict with each other, so a player may end up with a situation where on one front their modern forces are going up against other modern forces, and another front is dealing with horde of Qing full-stack armies. Recruiting more modern forces has a very long waiting time, which means losing a modern fullstack when the enemy has plenty of more forces to press forward could be game over (or at least cause a major death spiral).
  

Diplomacy is required with the Qing and other factions. It's generally cheaper to convince the Qing to give up a "small concession" and sign one-sided trade deals than to fight a grinding attrition war.
For some of the factions, the profitability of their operations dictate how much forces they can field, and if finances go into the red for too long or merchants/missionaries are constantly being harassed/killed, the home country may lose its patience and thus "boot" the player to trigger a game over. There will also be crisis or war events in Europe/America that puts major pressure on the diplomacy between the colonial factions.
Qing rebel factions (such as the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom)

• Major advantage: The Qing faction is generally going to be busy dealing with other rebels and foreign forces, and the player can quickly recruit hordes of fullstacks of bullet sponge cannon fodder angry peasants after a few provinces are conquered. They may be able to get governors/generals to defect to them and thus bring their provinces or armies over to the player's side without a fight. They will be able to access more advanced units as they continue conquering more provinces
  
• Challenges: Access to modern weapons will be difficult unless major favors are gained with a foreign faction. Sufficiently piss off both the Qing and the foreign factions (or a Qing that pulls itself together), and it'll likely be a curbstomp.
  

A few challenge modes (ultimate victory):

• As the Qing, declare open war on all of the foreign factions to expel them. This predictably leads to those factions all allying together because they would rather have some of their colonial possessions rather than none.
  
• As a Qing rebel faction, overthrow the Qing and then declare open war on all of the foreign factions to expel them.
  
• As one of the foreign factions, declare that all of China belongs to you, triggering war with the Qing, Qing rebel factions and all of the other foreign factions.
  

~ 1. Introduction ~
Here is a detailed description of my wishlist for a Mario Kart 9 or 10/X (if Tour is considered the 9th installment) I don't expect everyone to like all my ideas. This is just a wishlist. • • I'm thinking Solo Dash races will feature the usual 12 players (1st - 12th place) while Double Dash races features upto 16 players but 8 groups total (1st - 8th place).
• • Worldwide and Regional Grand Prix will be 2-12 racers (or 4-16 in doubles mode) in a 4-race Cup from any randomly displayed Cups. Cups are then selected based on player voting.
• • Create Room will now feature customized options such as Mode, Teams, Items, CPUs, and Vehicles similar to the Create a Tournament option.
• • For online, I'd also like for a better ranking system to prevent casual players from racing against competitive players and vice versa.

~ Other Details

• • The race start intro and race finishes to retro courses will have a remake version of their original transitions along with a rearranged verison of their original theme from that respective retro course. Example for better understanding. * Mario Kart GP courses will have the current game's race start and finish transitions.
• • I somehow also want to incorporate a way that once the Retro Grand Prix is unlocked, the title screen will have remake versions of the original title screens from previous Mario Kart games similar to Mario Party Superstars. Example
• It would show different title screens at each start up similarly to how Mario Kart 8/Deluxe's title screens Example
  
• • Sometimes the CPU seems to make decisions that only seem to target the player regardless of placement. I want a smarter CPU for harder difficulties that won't just use an item just to use. If a CPU is holding a shell, they should use it logically or defend themselves with it logically.
• • I personally am fine with every other mechanic used in Mario Kart 8/Deluxe such as driving techniques used, amiibo settings, Stats, etc. Keep the same driving techniques even during Double Dash mode. I personally was not a fan of Mario Kart Double Dash's drift mechanic and would not want that function brought back.

• - there's plenty of room for more characters but I figured 100 was the perfect amount of characters, especially with the double dash feature with everyone potentially having a partner with no odd person out.

Available parts. The parts available are listed here in the order shown in the vehicle customization screen, with the following notation: ¹ = Changes color, depending on the character. ² = Changes color for the Koopalings. ³ = Changes color for Daisy, Baby Daisy, Rosalina, and Baby Rosalina. (DLC) = Part is only available as downloadable content.

• Personally, I would want a system that prevents everyone from choosing the best racer with the best vehicle parts. For example If Luigi is the best racer and his best vehicle is the standard kart with mushroom tires, and gold glider, obviously everyone will choose Toad and those exact parts to win races. I want everyone to choose their favorite racer and parts that make them comfortable to race in, and not just look at a list of the best racers and parts and just copy and paste that. I don't know how to fix this honestly but I'm sure someone could help with ideas to this to make everyone equal in a way on the track with their own individuality similar to what Mario Kart 7 did with their characters.

Item Box - Gives the player a random item. Items given are based on the player's distance from first place. * I would like for them to look either similar to how they looked in Mario Kart 64 or Mario Kart DS' design.
Coin - Gives the player a small boost and increase top speed when more are collected, up to a maximum of ten.
Rupee - The equivalent of a coin, used for Hyrule Circuit and Zelda related courses. They replace coins in the item roulette and in the track.
Bell - The equivalent of a coin, used for Animal Crossing. They replace coins in the item roulette and in the track.
Cash - The equivalent of a coin, used for Splatoon related courses. They replace coins in the item roulette and in the track.

Coin Block ⁽ⁿᵉʷ⁾ - * floats above player for a short time (10 seconds). Hop to collect upto 10 coins. Can only be obtained if player has 0 coins. Replacing the Coin Box item from Mario Kart Tour. Example
~ Returning Items
Banana Peel - When a kart hits a Banana Peel, it spins out. You can carry one behind your kart to protect yourself from a single attack. Can be thrown backward and forward.
Green Shell - Travels in a straight line and knocks over a kart it hits.
Red Shell - Red Shell Homes in on the closest kart in front of the player and knocks it over.
Feather - Causes the player to spin and leap in the air, providing a small speed boost upon landing, akin to a regular trick (characters will also perform a trick animation during the jump).
Mushroom - Provides the player's kart with a small speed boost.
Super Star - Provides the player invincibility from all terrain and items, and also giving a speed boost.
Boo - Unleashes Boo, who turns the player invisible for a brief time, making them impervious to enemy attacks, and steals an opponent's item. Cannot steal Special Items.
Coinˣ - Grants the player two extra coins and a micro boost.
Lightningˣ - Causes all opponents to drop their items, shrink, and drive slowly for a short time.
Fake Item - Looks just like an item box, but when you run into it, it knocks you over.
Bob-omb - Explodes after a short time when thrown or dropped, knocking over any kart in its blast radius.
Blooper - Sprays ink on all racers ahead and reduces their visibility. The racers hit also lose some of their traction while sprayed.
Bullet Billˣ - Transforms the player into a Bullet Bill, rocketing through the track with auto-pilot, and providing invincibility from all terrain and items.
Spiny Shellˣ - Targets the racer in first place, knocking over all other karts in its path.
Super Horn - Emits a radial shockwave hitting racers, as well as destroying all obstacles, including the Spiny Shell.
~ Special Items
Fireball (Red) - Three fireballs will revolve around your kart. They split up after they're thrown and go sliding ahead. These powerful pyrotechnics can take out multiple opponents at once. Drivers: Mario, Fire Mario
Fireball (Green) - Three fireballs will revolve around your kart. They split up after they're thrown and go sliding ahead. These powerful pyrotechnics can take out multiple opponents at once. Drivers: Luigi, Fire Luigi
Fire Flower - Allows the player to throw fireballs for a short time that cause other karts to spin out on impact. Drivers: Metal Mario, Fire Peach, Fire Bro
Ice Flower - Three balls of ice will revolve around your kart. Throw them all at once and they'll freeze any kart they hit, causing them to slide. Drivers: Ice Bro, Ice Mario, Penguin Luigi
Heart - This protective Heart revolves around your kart for a set amount of time, shielding you from attacks. Any item that hits the player becomes theirs to use. A cute and handy item. Drivers: Peach, Daisy, Villager, Wendy, Mametchi
Yoshi's Egg - This egg rolls down the road and home in on opponents. When they hit and break, they'll drop three more items. Drivers: Yoshi
Birdo's Egg - Homes in on the kart in front of you and crashes once it hits. Three more items will fly out when it breaks. Drivers: Birdo
Chain Chomp - This fearsome beast chases karts with reckless abandon, pulling the player behind it at breakneck speeds. Drivers: Baby Mario, Baby Luigi
Triple Mushrooms - Orbits the player's kart, providing them with three separate speed boosts. Drivers: Toad, Toadette
Golden Mushroom - Provides the player's kart with continuous speed boosts for a short time. Drivers: Captain Toad
Mega Mushroom - The driver grows bigger, which allows them to squash other racers by running over them, making them lose their items and slow down for a moment. Drivers: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Wiggler
Poison Mushroom - A stationary item. Looks like a regular mushroom but If one is run into, the victim shrinks, as if hit by a Lightning. Shrunken racers who run into it revert to normal size. Drivers: Kamek * ngl, i didn't really know who to give this item to
Mushroom Cannon - A cannon designed to resemble a Mushroom. Continually shoots out Mushrooms in front of your kart for a set time. Drivers: Monty Mole, Peachette, Toadsworth
Triple Green Shells - Three green shells that orbit the player's kart, protecting them from incoming attacks. Drivers: Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones, Lakitu, Koopa (Freerunning)
Triple Red Shells - Three red shells that orbit the player's kart, protecting them from incoming attacks. Drivers: Paratroopa, Dry Bones, Lakitu, Koopa (Freerunning)
Bowser's Shell - An awe-inspiring giant shell! As it careens down the road, slamming and ramming into karts, it's the very image of Bowser himself. Drivers: Bowser, Bowser Jr., Dry Bowser
Triple Bananas - Three bananas that orbit the player's kart, protecting them from incoming attacks. Drivers: Donkey Kong Jr., Dixie Kong
Giant Banana - Not only does this big banana spin out karts that hit it, but after being struck it breaks into three regular-sized Bananas. Drivers: Donkey Kong
Banana Barrels - Arm your kart with two fully-loaded barrels of Bananas! Continually shoots out Bananas in front of or behind your kart for a set time. Drivers: Diddy Kong, Funky Kong
Thunder Cloud - A thundercloud hovers over the recipient and strikes it with lightning after 10 seconds. The user shrinks to a very small size for 10 seconds, driving more slowly. Before this happens, the user has higher speed and acceleration while not losing speed when driving off-road, and may pass the cloud to an opponent by bumping into them. Drivers: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Clyde * If there was absolutely no choice but to have the next Meta character, it'd be the Ghosts. Having one of the worst possible specials in the game should balance them out.
POW Block - The POW Block appears above the karts as a 2D image, warning players of its arrival, and causes any racer on the ground ahead of the user to spin out and drop their items. * Since wheelies are no longer a thing, it always spins out other racers unless they're in anti-gravity mode or during an in air trick Drivers: Mii, Don-chan
Super Leaf- Gives the player's kart a tail that can be used to deflect items, knock over opponents and collect coins. The tail will disappear after a moment or if the player is hurt. Drivers: Tanooki Mario
Lucky Seven - Surrounds the player with seven items that rotates around its kart. The player receives a Mushroom, Banana, Green Shell, Red Shell, Blooper, Bob-omb, and a Star. Drivers: King Boo, Pauline, Poochy, Nabbit, Chargin' Chuck, Pianta, Noki
Boomerang Flower - Can be thrown up to three times, hitting racers forward/backward and when it returns to its user after the first and second use. Driver: Boomerang Bro, Larry
Piranha Plant - Automatically chomps on obstacles and other racers, giving a short speed boost for each bite. Drivers: Petey Piranha
Double Bob-ombs - Two Bob-ombs will revolve around your kart. Throw them both at once. Drivers: Wario, Waluigi, Roy
Bob-omb Cannon - Continually shoots out Bob-ombs in front of your kart for a set time. Drivers: Shy Guy
Giga Bob-omb - After being thrown, it will explode after hitting a kart or bouncing 3 times. It has a larger blast radius than a standard Bob-omb. Drivers: King Bob-omb
Bubble - Briefly envelops your kart and protects you from damage for a set time. While in the bubble, you will get a speed boost and float in the air. Drivers: Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, Lemmy
Dash Ring - Tosses out three rings in front of you along the track. Pass through them for a speed boost! Drivers: Rosalina, Luma, Ludwig, Honey Queen
Hammer - Throws multiple Hammers in an arc aimed at karts in front of yours. Drivers: Hammer Bro
Super Bell - A bell rings above the driver, knocking away nearby karts and items. The bell rings three consecutive times. Drivers: Cat Peach, Cat Toad
Capsule - Three colorful capsules surround your kart. They'll bounce at opponents when thrown. Drivers: Dr. Mario
Splat Bomb ⁽ⁿᵉʷ⁾ - * Explodes after a short time when thrown or dropped, knocking and spraying ink on any kart in its blast radius and reduces their visibility. The racers hit also lose some of their traction while sprayed. Drivers: Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy

Nayru's Love ⁽ᵈˡᶜ⁾ - * will surround the racer's kart with a protective shield. Any items that hit this shield will be reflected back at the racer who used them. If a driver using Nayru's Love is attacked with an item such as a Lightning, the racer who used the Lightning item will take damage. Drivers: Zelda
Copy Ability ⁽ᵈˡᶜ⁾ - * steals Special item from any racer. If no racer has a special item on them, it'll randomly generate a random racer's Special Item. Drivers: Kirby
Dedede's Hammer ⁽ᵈˡᶜ⁾ - * driver using Dedede's Hammer, will swing it around for about 5 seconds. Any karts hit will be squashed, causing them to lose their item and speed momentarily. Drivers: King Dedede
Invincibility Shield ⁽ᵈˡᶜ⁾ - * become invulnerable to all damage for a short time. Drivers: Sonic, Tails

Guys, I (34M) don’t even know where to start with this since I’ve been through a hurricane of emotions the last few months, but I’ll try my best to make my feelings clear and to be absolutely honest with you.
I’m married to my HS sweetheart (34F) met her in ‘05, we have started dating in ‘07 and have been together ever since. We engaged in 2017, got married last year and we are 1y3m into it. We started very young and we have been together for 16 years in total.
The point is: during our relationship, I have always looked for something else, I don’t know if I was feeling incomplete in some kind of way I couldn’t understand, but since me and my girl engaged I completely cut off any fucking around energy. I was focused on our marriage.
Fast forward to 4 months ago. I came to work and personally met someone (28F) who worked remotely with us and it turns out that she is a very attractive girl, exactly my type. When I saw her, it felt like i was shot in the chest. Crazy shit.
After work, we went to a bar and we hit it off like we knew each other from a past life, we had so much fun, so many cool conversations and while that happened, she kept shooting these glances at me like I was supposed to pick it up. We talked but nothing much more. However, we intensified talking online and I felt something for her.
After that we met twice while going to bars with friends, the looks continued and one day we were chatting online and she was out drinking. I asked her if she got home ok and after she said yes, she told me that she couldn’t stop thinking about me and wanted to see me.
I met her on a Thursday night and soon as she got in my car, we locked eyes. And I am not a believer in this kind of stuff but I felt like she was smiling to my soul and saying: “hey, I was looking for you”. We kissed and it felt so good and so intense that, to my surprise, we looked each other after and said “wtf was that?”
Day after that, we met again and had sex. And I can absolutely assure that it was the best sex I ever had in my life. It felt like we were dancing with each other souls. So connected, so intense. And I had my share of sexual encounters but this was something completely out of the ordinary. Absolutely insane. It was like I never had sex the right way before.
And that day, of course, I knew shit was about to go crazy.
Since then, we started meeting regularly and to the surprise of 0 people, we developed really, really strong feelings for each other. It was like nothing else I have ever experienced. When she told me she loved me, my stomach turned and I opened a smile the size of the Grand Canyon. It was real. We sat down and shared out feelings.
The craziest thing for me is: I never felt bad about it after we first met. I know this was supposed to be a really somber situation, something that should be hidden. But it wasn’t like that, from the start I felt that this was so right that I shouldn’t feel bad.
Of course, this hit me different and my wife noticed something was wrong. 2 weeks ago, she asked me if something what was happening because she felt me so distant. I told her exactly the truth: I developed feelings for other person. However, she doesn’t know we had any kind of intimate encounters because I thought I should protect her from knowing this and I felt better about myself in some kind of way.
She had me very surprised from her reaction. Despite crying and being shocked from the start, she told me she couldn’t keep me from being happy. But days after, she told me she wouldn’t be able to cope with the situation and told me we should keep trying, and she asked me to give it my best effort in couples counseling, which I am.
We are still living together, we have an elephant in our room but we are dealing with it openly. We are talking constantly, our routine remains the same, minus intimacy. It’s been really hard on both of us, especially on her and it is killing me. I didn’t want it to happen like this, I feel really bad for being open about because it hurt her so bad, on the first week she was constantly crying and it hurts me bad.
But this has been developing for almost three months now, and I can’t help it. I feel like need to give it a shot despite all the consequences that will come with it. This hits me completely different and I feel like she is my soulmate, for real. I can’t live with the idea of walking away from this and going about my business without giving us a try. I really feel we are going to be super happy.
But all this made me think deeply about several underlying issues in our relationship. It is way deeper than meeting someone new. Truth is I haven’t been happy for a long, long time and I always wondered how I could somehow, someway, get out of my relationship and break free in some sorts. I thought my marriage would help but the truth is that I was very anxious about it; I didn’t know if that was what I really wanted but the thought of walking away from our relationship was just too crazy for me.
Now, I don’t know what this new person will bring into my life but maybe it was the impulse I needed to walk away. I feel so happy with her, and I really want to experience me and her because I think that is the way to go right now.
I know my story is kinda usual, I know this happens a lot. I just needed to share since I am trying to navigate life right now. It has been really, really hard coming to grips with the reality that my cycle with my wife is over and that I’ll have to face my parents, family and such when it is over.

Captain Cook Monument snorkeling - first experience being out snorkeling in deep open water, scary but fun

I should’ve known I wouldn’t get an apology or even an acknowledgment of misunderstanding at the very least. I don’t know why I entertained the notion.
I relocated from where my family lives in New Jersey to Los Angeles. I live in the burbs of Santa Clarita. My mother has been saying that she “needs” to see me so she booked a trip to come down here for Memorial Day weekend. Tagged along by my brother (11) and step-father. My brother is the main reason I looked forward to this trip. I was foolishly hoping that this time around we could be drama free because the last time they came to California they stayed at Disney land in Anaheim and were genuinely hurt and felt betrayed that I didn’t take the hour and a half drive after work to see them in the resort because they didn’t grab a rental to drive around town in. They pulled a Fast & Furious and tried to guilt me about family and how you gotta make sacrifices.
All I do is make sacrifices. I loan them money, I don’t protest that they live in the house that I bought while I’m shackled inside an RV here while trying to forge a career out here.
So I tell them the best places to stay that would be close to me and an adequate drive to LA. Valencia, Sylmar, etc.
But no. They choose Hawthorne instead. Okay, no problems. My mother’s words: “We will have a car so can meet u anywhere u’d like”
We see each other on Thursday for a few hours while my partner worked. She doesn’t necessarily like my parents because of how they treated me in the past but she’s cordial when with them. Because they chose to be far, we didn’t have time to stay and came home.
The next day (Friday) they decided to go to universal. Spent all day there. My mother had delusions that we could meet up afterward because in her mind she’s still a vibrant 26 year-old. But sure enough: “Just pulled out of universal. We r on zero lmao Is it ok if we have dinner tmrw instead pls”
In my head, 2/3 days nullified on no fault of my own. I’m with it. But then yesterday rolls around. I text them to ask where they are and they tell me the Grove. Not beat to go all the way to town, I ask them to come drive by me. There’s this place I looked up— MB something— great outdoor spot for kids. Golfing, go karts, etc. and her response:
Can we find another location to meet
Bc this place is 1 hour from me now then another hour back to my hotel
Can we meet somewhere not so far away. Somewhere midway
I didn’t respond for two minutes. I wanted to see if she’d get the clarity that it’s not just a hop and skip away and that she understands why I couldn’t come down to see her when she was in Anaheim.
But instead— she surprises me. She says she’ll come. She does.
Doesn’t talk the entire time. I bond with my brother, he seems oblivious to it all. He’s surprisingly good at mini golf while I’m… not as good.
We enjoy the park for two hours before she says they’re heading out. I recommended a happy hour place I knew but said no, they made a fuss about traffic.
I’m glad it’s over. I just don’t like her when she’s in the same state I’m in.

Hey guys. I recently got back into driving since prepandemic. I took a full log of my activity this weekend, I only drive Thursday, Friday, Saturday. This is what I have, and I am happy with my results. Just wondering what you guys are doing in your markets, and what your minimum personal goal is to be happy going home with.
2019 Grand Caravan, 22mpg, X + Comfort + XL
Thursday - 6.25hrs, 224 Miles. $151.93. ($38 Gas)
Friday - 10.5hrs, 317 Miles, $374.56 (Includes $126 Uber Quest Bonus) ($48 Gas)
Saturday - 12hrs, 304 Miles, $460.52 (Includes $144 Uber Quest Bonus) ($59 Gas)
I fillup before and after my shifts to track actual gas cost. I haven't had to do any major work on my van yet, it has 95k miles. Regular maintenance is handled by myself. All in all, I am clearing on the low end $25/hr after expenses, and I am happy for that.
Anything I might have missed? Any opinions?

Got the coach ticket this year. Travelling from Leicester on the Thursday. Think we’ll arrive just after lunch. Although gutted to be missing the Wednesday just happy to be there. Going with my partner. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations on where to camp arriving at the festival at that time? Somewhere central as possible but not crazy rowdy. TIA

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. To keep things short, my psychiatrist told me all my illnesses (except insomnia) are medicine resistant and perhaps ketamine would work for me. I did 6 sessions last summer and I felt great. 2 months after my treatment, I got pregnant. Overall, pregnancy went smoothly (minus physical issues).
All my illnesses are very severe. Anxiety is one of them. The last month of my pregnancy, I developed bells palsy (due to my body being stressed). It has not resolved yet.
So, as soon as I gave birth, I developed bad post partum depression and anxiety. My doctor told me to come in and do a maintenance treatment. I just did mine on Thursday and mentally I'm feeling good! I can finally have fun with my little one and overall mood feels great.
Here is where things get kind of confusing: when I initially did my 6 treatments, I'd wake up refreshed and just happy, life was great! Now, however, my body is broken. I might be mentally feeling good, but it feels like my body is depressed and stressed, to the point where I'm in pain. My chest hurts, I have headaches, I feel super super tired, all things I had (with mental issues) until I did the treatment. I'm confused on what I should do. Of course the body would be tired with a newborn, but I'm not sure how to kill the pain. I have a med that helps it to an extend but not enough. Do you think I might need another treatment? I have an appointment w my doctor again on the 8th of June but I Hate the tiredness and pain. (P.s. my anxiety gets so high that it shoots up my cholesterol which has happened in the past. I have never had issues with cholesterol. If age matters, im 29.)
