Here are all of the new US CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in January 2023, according to the Department of Energy. These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:

1. Tesla drivers who haven't bought the official CCS adapter yet. Certain older Teslas need additional work done to accept the adapter.
2. Leaf owners like me, and some owners of older cars that also use CHAdeMO. If you drive a Leaf, or an older CHAdeMO car, see my matching post in leaf.

There were 173 CCS charge points added in January 2023. That shows continued growth month after month. For comparison, there were only 106 new CCS charge points in January 2022.

The last update (I hope) for Savannah's Ian thread. The worst is past for us, but please consider donating to the American Red Cross' Hurricane Ian relief fund. There are millions in FL and SC who are going to have a very rough time recovering from this storm.
Please be mindful, we may have some wind and rain effects from this still until about tomorrow morning.
UPDATE 11:00PM 9/29
Per the 11pm NHC update, Ian is just offshore just at about the GA/FL border and is making life difficult up and down the coast for many families tonight. Be careful of wind gusts and localized flooding. Winds and rain will only continue to ramp up, it'll be like this for the next 18-24 hours.
Spare a thought/word of prayer for our friends at /Charleston, they're going to be hit dead on.

The 2pm NHC continues the forecast that Ian will be a CAT 1. The current track still shows a re-landfall occurring tomorrow just north of Chatham County and nearly directly into Charleston. Strong gusty winds have started here already and will only continue to grow stronger. Rain should start falling in the next few hours.
Stay home and off the roads if you are able.

We are not out of the woods yet; Savannah is still in the cone of uncertainty and small variations now can have major effects by the time it reaches us. The 5pm NHC shows no major changes to Ian's path from earlier today. Likely will go out to the Atlantic and then swing back into the Savannah area. Different models show various ways it will impact us. Expect flooding and wind, and a strong storm surge. Stay tuned to CEMA for further updates and guidance.

FROM CEMA:
Chatham County is under a Hurricane Watch, Tropical Storm Warning and a Storm Surge Warning. We will continue to monitor advisories from the National Hurricane Center, and coordinate with the National Weather Service for the most up to date information regarding Hurricane Ian.
Situation: Hurricane Ian has sustained winds at ­­­­­­155 mph and is moving N, NE at 9 mph. Sustained winds are approximately 233 miles south of Chatham County. Ian is a Category 4 hurricane.
Timing: Current forecasts have potential wind impacts beginning Thursday afternoon and into Friday. *Please be aware that this may change as new advisories are issued.
Impacts: Potential impacts include gusty winds that are potentially Tropical Storm strength, possible isolated tornadoes, 4-8” of rainfall, and elevated tides.
OPCON: 2 – Storm Readiness Phase. Tropical Storm Force Winds are possible. CEMA Staff is monitoring and assessing any potential impacts to our area.
Actions you need to take: This is the time to review your personal emergency plans and replenishing and/or creating emergency kits. Visit ready.chathamcountyga.gov for more information.
Prepare your home and secure loose or lightweight items outside your house or business. Look around your home for any areas that could be affected by heavy rainfall. For example, take time to clear out your gutters and check for any debris gathering on your roof. Large amounts of debris left on your roof during a storm could cause your roof to weaken and leave you with a leak.
UPDATE 9:15am 9/28
Chatham County Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) has entered the Storm Readiness Phase (Operating Condition 2) ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Ian.
The greatest potential for impacts to Chatham County Thursday night into Friday could be heavy rainfall, with predictions of 4-8” inches in 24 hours and Tropical Storm force wind gusts. There is also a potential for coastal flooding due to elevated tides and possible storm surge. Residents in low-lying areas should stay alert for possible flooding. A risk of severe weather, including tornadoes also exists.

CEMA’s storm readiness activities include:
Conducting coordination calls with the Command Policy Group, County and Municipal leaders, surrounding Emergency Management Agencies, State officials, volunteer and private sector partners, and the National Weather Service for in-depth discussion of the latest forecasts and storm scenarios. The County’s Emergency Operations Center will be at a Level II Activation with staffing specifically dedicated to monitoring storm conditions, predictions, and potential impacts as well as ensuring information is shared with stakeholders.
UPDATE 8:30am 9/28
The 8am NHC advisory continues the trend that appeared yesterday at the 11am: that Ian will cross FL and go into the Atlantic going up along the GA coast and re-landfall (as a Tropical Storm) in/around Savannah. This has increased the amount of storm surge predicted to be between 3'-5'. This has also increased our wind and rainfall risk as a result. Expect guidance from CEMA to be released within the next few hours.
Also, of note, High Tide will be at 11:45 AM on Friday, with Ian expected to make landfall around 2pm. This is somewhat good news as this means water will be pulled out to sea fairly quickly. But likely we'll see US-80 close for flooding. Be ready, Tybee folks! Also, expect the usual suspects to flood. If an intersection or road floods when it rains a little bit, it most certainly will this time too.
UPDATE 6:30pm 9/27
The 5pm NHC track is showing a major problem for Chatham County: Ian may pop over into the Atlantic and gain strength while moving up the coast. This most certainly will bring more wind and storm surge. How this storm hits Florida will also greatly change how things play out here.

UPDATE 11:30am 9/27
The latest guidance from the NHC has been released and a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the northern GA coastline and a TS Warning for the southern coastline. Further, the forecasting has shifted the storm east in its trek across the state of Florida and leaving it a Tropical Storm as it crosses over the Chatham County area on Friday night/Saturday morning, this means winds are forecast to gust in the 50-60 MPH range as early as Thursday evening and 6-10 inches of rain on the islands and 4-6 inches elsewhere.
This is a quote from the NHC's 11am update:

Heavy rainfall will increase across the FL Keys and south FL today, spreading into...the Southeast US by Thursday and Friday...Considerable flooding is expected across central Florida into southern Georgia and coastal South Carolina.

I fully expect to hear from CEMA shortly upping up their Operational status and providing further guidance.
Literally minutes after posting this update, CEMA entered OPCON 3.
As of the posting of this thread (9:00am Tuesday 9/27), Hurricane Ian is lashing Cuba and will begin making its trek up towards Tampa Bay and middle-FL as a strengthening hurricane.
Per forecasts, we will likely start feeling the first wind & rain effects from Ian around Thursday.

Q. I'm going to visit Savannah in the next few days. Should I cancel?
A. As of this post, impacts will be lots of rain, wind, and heavy tides. This won't be good vacation weather at all. Activities will likely be limited as a result...and certainly not beach weather. By Sunday, however, the weather should clear up & return to normal. My advice: if you can reschedule, reschedule. I doubt you'll have a fun trip trapped in your hotel room.
Q. Should I buy a generator?
A. That ship sailed as soon as the word Hurricane was mentioned last week. Edit: As some have said, there may be generators available, but you may have to look around to find. Unless, however, your area is prone to outages, you may not need one.
Q. Should I evacuate?
A. At this time, no. CEMA will advise if or when that is needed. It is UNLIKELY that there will be any Chatham-area evacuations ordered, voluntary or otherwise. Subscribe to CEMA's alerts, don't just take an internet stranger's word for it. If they say evacuate, then evacuate.

• Don't panic! Stay informed through OFFICIAL channels such as the National Hurricane Center and Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA). You can sign up for CEMA alerts to be sent to your cell phone via text or subscribe to their social media channels (links on their site).
  
• Use the next day or so to finish any storm prep you missed over the weekend. Visit Ready.gov for checklists and ways to help your family prepare.
