2023.03.22 12:46 Cherry_Crystals I really don't understand the obsession with Kate
2023.03.22 12:29 Weary-War1473 My Apartment Roommate Betrayed me and He Has No Idea I Know
I will be using fake names for this post.
I, 21M, share an apartment with two other people while studying in college. Let’s call one of the people Todd (21M). Todd and I were pretty good friends, not lifelong best friends, but pretty good friends. I work at a boba shop and I have for about two years. I really love my job, not only because of my coworkers and perks, but I also really love boba.
Todd needed a job, so I was able to get him hired at the boba place. I was excited about working with a friend at first, but over a period of time, I started to see why people say don’t work with your close friends. One time, when closing down the place, Todd wiped down one of the machines we use to make smoothies and swept a little bit, before handing the rag and broom to me and saying he was too tired. I just thought maybe he’s having an off day and ignored when he proceeded to go on his phone and swipe on Tinder instead of help out.
Well, later on, he had been doing some other stuff that had been getting on my nerves, and I was annoyed. I mentioned to my coworker I was going to be living with my cousin (who goes to the same school) next year instead of Todd and our other friend, as Todd had changed his mind about our living situation, and my coworker, who I’ll call James, told me that he knows that, because Todd had told him I wasn’t roommate material, despite the fact I did try my best to pitch in and even did other people’s chores. Additionally, as James was training to become a manager and has just been promoted to cafe assistant manager, James had reason to be upset with him, but hadn’t for my sake. Apparently Todd had been barely working, leaving to go sit in the break room often, lying to avoid coming in, and stealing boba in front of the bosses. One time, he got reported twice in one day for doing this.
Sometimes employees sneak drinks and I had mentioned I do sometimes, but it was very rare and I never did it in front of people who were my BOSS. But I was livid, especially at the comment Todd had made about me. My lovely girlfriend had to get me Chinese to cheer me up because I was so upset (dw I didn’t ask for this or demand it she could just tell I was upset and I do the same for her all the time.) my cousin was also pretty upset for me.
Todd no longer works at the boba shop, and my coworkers have been super supportive of me even when I felt bad that my referral failed. Todd doesn’t know I know why he was let go and what he said about me.

2023.03.22 12:14 Spidersfromvenus Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.
James and Sarah have been married a long time, with two children. But it wasn't always like that.
James was born in '56, and Sarah in '66. So James remembers watching England beat Argentina, on the way to that ambrosia final, and he remembers something about the way in which the adults were acting, the atmosphere, in the house that he'd gone to, to watch it. A football house, not like James' house. He remembers the game itself too, of course. Rough, and with that famous sending off. Antonio Rattin. James didn't know, at the time, that there was a whole controversy, even off the pitch, relative to that dismissal, surrounding language, and bias.
Anyway, they got us back. Beckham, in '98. Yellow, not red. The whirligig, once again, half circle.
James also remembers the October of '66. South Wales, and the horror, and sorrow, which later became shame. So much to be proud of, when Hurst banged in number 4, even if maybe a few big decisions did go England's way, along the journey. Charlton, what a man. From the ashes. But some bigger decisions, relative to Wales, were seriously all wrong. Not questionable, not just to do with a game - even bearing in mind what Bill Shankly said about his beloved football - but plain wrong. Before, and after.
So that would have been '66, for James, with no idea at all about tiny little Sarah, or about what she would encounter, when she herself reached ten, or what images she would click on to, in the seventies.
God, those pictures. Not the England ones, the Wales ones. Aberfan. You can't understand, at the age of ten (unless you are very clued in) about the full implications of things. But you can feel.
Sarah never said so very much about the seventies, not so as to specifically relate to them. She isn't so completely concerned about exactly when things were, with regard to the line that people sit all along, like birds on wires, between the telegraph poles of caring passionately about that kind of detail, or not caring in the least. It kind of, maybe was round about then, not sure, but it's sort of all in this general mixer of some stuff that didn't go so good, and some other stuff that maybe went a bit better. She's pretty open, in her thinking, in many ways. Less so, in others. Human.
She was on a train, round about aged 18. Going to a lecture. The carriage was half empty, and she was reading. A modern day Sarah might be on a phone, but it doesn't matter because the main thing is that people do sometimes get carried into other worlds, where they feel comfy, or engaged, and then they suddenly sort of feel at home, and forget. Sarah put her feet up, on the seat opposite, not even fully realising.
Bill joined the train a stop or so down the line. Sarah doesn't say where, and maybe isn't even sure, she just remembers him joining, and that he was going to the same course. She was in the seat by the window, though unaware of the scenery, and he came and sat almost opposite, but not quite. It wasn't until he brushed Sarah's foot, a bit later maybe, that she lazily engaged back with the world in general. She noticed it, because she was wearing sandals, flats, and so he'd made contact with bare skin.
'Sorry,' she said. Moved those feet back to the floor.
'You were fine' he said. 'You don't have to.'
Sarah genuinely considered going back to exactly how she'd been. It was dreamy. But she didn't.
'Nice shoes', he said.
Thank you.
'And the dress', he said. 'Nice dress, too.'
Sarah agreed. That was why she was wearing it. But maybe, just for a flicker or two, it might have been a bit revealing, she thought. No special clue, about that tiny flicker. She wouldn't have, usually.
'So, Durkheim today, then? he said.
'Yeah' she agreed. Sociology. The issues round suicide.
Blah, blah.
All the way to getting off. Where they chatted a bit more, on the walk from the station, and then parted. Met with different friends, probably.
_ _ _
Bill did well. Got a job as a teacher, higher ed. When Sarah went for the researcher job, she had no idea. But when she went to the interview, there was a flicker of recognition. She wasn't in flats, but heels. More length, on the skirt. Formal, but that was nothing to do with Bill himself, because she hadn't known he'd be there, her 'boss' to be.
It was maybe a month later again, they ended up jumping into a little hole. At a small do, after drinking. She was in heels again, and a furry sort of coat that she wore when they left together, and went back to his. She remembered him taking those heels off, helping her relax, where she often forgot how much some kinds of footwear could hurt, and he was the one that reminded her. He put them on the little table, those cheap shoes, like an exhibit. He offered her a massage.
She was touched, allowed him to come over closer, treat her. Both feet, lovely. And then his hand, up her thigh. But she kind of knew what he was doing? When he caught her eye?
Her heart stood still. Do, run, run, run.
Sarah did. She never stayed the night, but never precisely knew why. She kissed him, at the door, completely normally, with moderate feeling.
_ _ _
He sent her a very bizarre letter. She thought about keeping it, but thought more about throwing it away, and in the bin it went, after the burning. She did the same with the flowers, that came after, only without the setting light part. He sent more, again, almost like he was inviting it. Then it stopped.
Departmental head, now. Big uni, big cheese.
_ _ _
Sarah and James have two daughters. The eldest is in education, straight from school. The youngest is just finishing her own uni. At the age of ten, they probably had experiences which were really quite similar to each other's, but worlds away from those of their parents, as regards the means of communication, at least.
But tonight, they are all properly talking, to each other, instead of to people on tiktok, or whatever.
'The thing is', Jade (the youngest) is saying, 'I don't see how you can respect her, any more?'
JK Rowling.
'Yeah, but..' Amelia is not so sure. 'I still think the books are great, and not just the Harry Potter ones. Some of her others, too?'
'Pfft!' Stories are told by real people. How can you trust what they write? Plenty of authors just sell their pathetic crap, in disguise.'
'Yeah, but...' Sarah starts
'But, what?'
'Nothing. Well, except... Not all authors do that, for one. Lots of people who may have thought, or done, bad things... they don't always promote those things.?' Sometimes, they promote nothing, sometimes they write almost apologetically about stuff... Maybe even try and fight it?
'What!'
'No, I mean... Oh, I don't know what I mean, except JK Rowling is writing about fantasy, just about fun. Well, in Harry Potter she is. And anyway...' Anyway, I don't know if I'm even ready, myself, for someone with a cock, in my toilet...?
_ _ _
Sarah admitted to that moment to James, afterwards. She'd thought a bad thing, something she'd felt she couldn't say, not even to her own family.
James sort of laughed, but it was a hard one. Not the kinds of worries you generally had to deal with, as a mostly retired plumber.
'Well,' he said. 'Of course, for me it was kind of the same. I almost.... I almost wished there'd been cubicles, for men, even. I never liked looking, or being looked at. But now... I wouldn't care. I mean, I wouldn't look, myself, but I wouldn't care who might be looking. I wouldn't see any of it as an issue. Not any single part. But that's only me.'
'Maybe' said Sarah. 'I don't know, it gets all mixed up, for me. And it's not so much the looking... And, like, with all this 'Me Too'. I mean, there's successful people now, who may have done things a long time ago, not such very big things, that people didn't really object too... I'm not saying always, I mean, I think it's right that this is all being dealt with, but... sometimes, if it was ok back then, would it be wrong to suddenly claim it was awful? Like, if you had a letter, or something?' A letter that wasn't so very bad, that you just weren't ready for...? All different, at the time.
'God,' James agreed. 'The things people write, in letters. And now emails, of course. But there are letters that maybe I do wish I'd kept copies of, personally, that I sent, and I wish I had proof of.'
'Yeah,' Sarah agreed. Could definitely cut both ways.
On the whole though, in her own case, she thought she was in favour of fire.

2023.03.22 12:10 FelicitySmoak_ On This Day In Michael Jackson HIStory - March 22nd
1967 - Michael,at 8 years old & in the 3rd grade, makes his first ever solo public performance during a concert at the James Garnett Elementary School in Gary. He performs “Climb Every Mountain” from The Sound Of Music.
Anita Hill, Michael's teacher who taught him his solo number, remembers him as a student: "Michael was the only child in my class who agreed to sing alone. He helped motivate the other students. Michael always behaved well and was always in class on time"
Anita Hill accompanies Michael on piano that day. According to J. Moffett Walker, a group of musicians were on stage as well, the Beckman Middle School band, led by E. Ferguson. The program states that another student, Morris Carter, sang "Climb Every Mountain" with Michael.
Katherine, Joe and Joe’s father Samuel Jackson attend the show.
This document is the program of this famous show, simply entitled “Instrumental and Vocal Concert”, where we can see the name of Michael Jackson appearing as a soloist

https://imgur.com/a/UFWkQlI 2004 - Michael Jackson has filed a lawsuit against Henry V. Vaccaro Sr. of New Jersey to return MJ memorabilia and close websites displaying the items.
The lawsuit claims that Henry Vaccaro obtained letters, pictures, song lyrics and other items belonging to Jackson through a bankruptcy sale involving the entertainer’s parents and has no right to sell them.
Vaccaro used to head a guitar company, which went bankrupt in 1992. A company owned by the Jackson family agreed to purchase it, but soon defaulted on payments, he said. Vaccaro sued the Jackson family company and was awarded a $1.4 million judgment, which the family said it couldn’t pay.
Neither Michael, Janet nor LaToya Jackson were named in the suit because they had not used money from the company.
Vaccaro said he ultimately was awarded the contents of a California warehouse filled with Jackson possessions by a bankruptcy trustee after paying $65,000, much of which was used to cover the family’s outstanding storage bills.
Vaccaro, 63, said he was awarded the Jackson family’s possessions following nine years of legal wrangling stemming from a failed business venture that wound up in bankruptcy court.
Michael's lawyer,Brian Wolf, said the pop star’s possessions should not have been included in the goods given to Vaccaro. Memorabilia included gold-trimmed costumes, financial documents, letters, awards, one of Jackson’s first outfits from the Jackson 5 and 60 unreleased master tapes -- which contained 26 of Jackson's songs which have never been heard by the public.
The bankruptcy case allowed Vaccaro only to get property belonging to Michael Jackson’s brother Tito and their parents, Katherine and Joe.
The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, seeks at least $10 million for copyright infringement and violation of privacy rights, among other claims Jackson is demanding his things back, but Vaccaro said he already has sold the goods to a European buyer.
“It’s gone,” Vaccaro, a construction company owner said.
Wolf said he would ask for a court order for the return of anything already sold.
Vaccaro said he could not comment on specifics of the lawsuit because he had yet to see it. “We’ll take ’em on,” he said. “They don’t have a leg to stand on.”
Before shipping the items to a European buyer whom he has declined to identify, Vaccaro spent 18 months photographing and cataloguing it for his Web site.
Vaccaro has not revealed the sales price but indicated it exceeded $1.4 million.

Prosecutor Gordon Auchincloss continued his direct examination of Palanker by getting her to describe how she trained the Arvizo children in their acting and comedic skills
Palanker told how she would wind up loaning the family $20,000 dollars to renovate a “clean room” for Gavin.

Michael Jackson: On the Wall exhibition started in Germany. It was the first MJ exhibition to be shown after renewed allegations surfaced earlier in the year
Curator Nicholas Cullinan stresses that it was conceived long before the controversial new documentary Leaving Neverland went into production.
Despite the renewed indignation against the deceased pop superstar, the art museum in western Germany has decided to hold the exhibition as planned from March 22 to July 14. "Especially now, when new abuse accusations have come to light, it's important to reassess the 'King of Pop,'" said Rein Wolfs, director at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn.
Rather than being a homage, the exhibition shows Jackson from varying, even critical, angles, the director said at a press presentation ahead of the opening: "I believe it's better to have a platform that enables discussion rather than simply to extinguish a cultural memory."
Cullinan told AP that the show “was never celebratory. It’s about the complexity of Michael Jackson, how he means very different things to many very different people.”
The exhibition features 134 artworks by 53 artists, including different depictions of the pop star by prominent artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Isa Genzken and Yan Pei Ming
Among the artwork on display is an image by Dave LaChappelle, "American Jesus", that shows Jackson lying in the arms of Jesus.
The highlight of the exhibition is Kehinde Wiley’s portrait of, "Equestrian Portrait of King Philip II (Michael Jackson)",which shows him assuming a powerful pose as he rides on a horse with cherubs following behind him. This was the last portrait commissioned by Michael, after encountering Wiley's work in the Brooklyn Museum. The artist started to execute the painting a few months before Jackson’s death, and finished it posthumously
Michael Jackson: On the Wall was produced with the co-operation of the Michael Jackson Estate and received sponsorship from Hugo Boss in the UK.
The Exhibition originally opened in London on June 28, 2018 and was hailed as an instant success. It then moved on to the Grand Palais in Paris, where the show ran through February 14, 2019.
London: 82,525 visitors
Paris:156,307 visitors

2023.03.22 11:58 kiwi_sapphic I am 23 years old, make $67,000, live in Philly, work as a Project Coordinator, and this week I celebrated my birthday in Paris.
I did a money diary this exact week last year about signing the offer letter for the company I work at now. I ended up getting a 5K COL adjustment (62k > 67k) once I moved to Philly. I expressed in the previous journal that I was worried about my taxes since I moved states and work for an NYC company from PA. As many suggested in the comments, it ended up being pretty simple (I used FreeTaxUSA). SECTION ONE: ASSETS AND DEBT Retirement Balance - $31,400. A mix of Roth IRA, 401(k), and traditional brokerage.
Equity - N/A
Savings account balance - $11,600 in Emergency Funds; $7,500 in a HYSA that I saved up during college and will use to pay off my student loans when payments resume this summer. Because of this, I consider myself debt free.
Checking account balance - $900; I had a $600 sinking fund for my food/shopping/entertainment in Paris, but I got $300 in cash birthday gifts.
Credit card debt (and how you accumulated it) - $0; I pay my cards off regularly.
Student loan debt - $7,500 for a Political Science and Social Policy Degree with a minor in English. I got a full-tuition scholarship, but had small gaps in aid during my first two years because my school required underclassmen to have on-campus housing and a meal plan.
—
SECTION TWO: INCOME Income Progression: I’ve been at this job 9 months, make $67k, and it’s great. The people, the work, the benefits. It’s my first post-college, salaried position. I have pretty much no complaints about it and am
hoping to get a merit raise during our summer evaluations.
Main Job Monthly Take Home: $3,400 (paid semi-monthly)
$1200/mo in total taxes (fed, state, local, SSI/med); $1000/mo to 401(k); Employer pays 100% of health premiums.
No other income currently, no parental contributions, etc. — SECTION THREE: EXPENSES (my portions, I live with a roommate)
Rent -
$750/mo. Renewing in May; hoping it stays the same or doesn’t increase dramatically
Retirement/Investment contribution - $540/mo to Roth IRA
(401(k) contributions detailed in the Income section).
Savings contribution - $460/mo to sinking funds,
$200/mo to General Savings/Emergency Fund
Debt payments - None besides regular payments to my cards
Donations -
$80/mo to whatever feels right
Food - ~$500/mo ($300 groceries + <$200 dining out)
Electric -
$75/mo Wifi -
$65/mo Cellphone -
$300/yr (Mint Mobile)
Renter’s Insurance - $100/yr Subscriptions - $8/mo; $7 for Apple Music and $1 for iCloud Storage
Annual Subscriptions - $380/yr; $190 for Credit Card Annual Fees; $165 for ScentBird Subscription; $25 for Google Storage
Gym Membership - $10/mo; $50/yr for Annual Membership Fee
I started on a health journey last June (lost 50+ lbs!). Back then, I was in search of any kind of fitness that I would enjoy and actually go to. I ended up getting a
$190/mo membership (2 classes/wk) to a RUMBLE (HIIT Boxing) studio and went 2x a week from June - Nov. In December, I bought a flat-fee holiday package that made my classes cheaper ($19/cls vs $23/cls) and more flexible, so I froze my subscription and got a 30 class package.
In January, I started strength training 4x/wk at Planet Fitness and went down to 1x/week at RUMBLE. I love my current routine, but PF and RUMBLE are both a 35 min walk from my house, and I go to the gym early in the morning. So, I’m considering joining the closer (<10 min walk), but more expensive ($72/mo) gym soon.
I’m still slowly burning through the RUMBLE holiday package and plan to cancel my subscription. I’m hoping they do a summer sale so I can buy another class package. If not, I’ll just buy classes ad hoc after I run out.
No pet, car, or therapy expenses currently. — SECTION FOUR: MONEY/TRAVEL DIARY ACCOMMODATIONS The flight and accommodations for this flight were booked in September after getting an email from
Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights) about $500 tickets to Paris the exact weekend of my birthday. I stayed in a Sonder that I also booked back in September for about $480. I bought a $30, 5 GB international eSIM from Airalo. I was able to post on social media, send iMessages, and check my bank accounts with no problems and no extra data needed.
Day 1 Today is payday and the beginning of my week off. I clear my credit cards, invest my Roth deposit, and go to the gym.
After the gym, I pick up last minute toiletries (
$45.35) and plane snacks (
$21.48). I end up on a wild goose chase looking for a Universal Adapter (
$34.39), so I get McDonald's (I wanted a Shamrock Shake) while I’m out (
$9.15 - this feels expensive for McDonald's?)
My mom gives me a call around 8pm and asks if I’ve checked my bank account. Today was payday, so I had, but not since early that morning. She gifted me
$200! After, I spend three hours retwisting my locs and go to bed around midnight.
Day 1 Spend - $108.37
Day 2 Today is Sims 4 Expansion Pack (and flight to Paris) day! I can’t install the game until 1PM ET.
Lame.I do one last check to ensure I have everything I need, transfer my Paris Sinking Fund (
$600) into my checking account, and then play the Sims to pass the time. At 4, I take the Regional Rail to the airport.
I breeze through TSA and read
Another Country by James Baldwin until boarding begins. Upon boarding, I’m stopped and informed that my carry-on is “too big.” They were clearly picking people at random to move their bags because as the woman walked down the jet bridge with my bag, she rolled it past a man who had the
exact same suitcase as me in another color.
Annoying.
They don’t give me a chance to take out my laptop and snacks, this is my first time traveling internationally, I triple checked the sizing requirements, so this stressed me out. I was terrified of my bag getting lost. I vent to my best friend about the bag situation; she helps me calm down. Once we’re airborne, I spend the next 6 hours rotating between reading, watching
Wakanda Forever, and listening to music.
Day 2 Spend - $0
Day 3 (my birthday!) We land in Dublin at 8am, and I activate my international eSIM. I see my older brother gifted me
$100 via Cash App. Even though it was just a quick layover, being in Ireland
on St. Patrick’s Day made me happy. The Irish were teeming with happiness and excitement. I board my second flight and land in Paris at 1pm, finally am reunited with my bag, and get to the section of town I’m staying in via train (
$12.18).
While I wait for a friend to arrive on the train from London, I try French McDonalds per the recommendation of my best friend (
$14.95 - seriously, why the hell is McDonalds so expensive?)
Friend arrives and we explore Paris! We then stop at a bakery, I grab a pain au chocolat (
$1.60) and slip into a bar nearby. My friend lets everyone know it’s my birthday, and they buy us lots of rounds of shots and drinks. My friend closes the tab for the couple of drinks we actually ordered, and we head to a club that’s having a St. Patrick’s Day party around the corner.
I later try to redeem my Starbucks birthday item, but the barista gently lets me know it’s not valid in France. However, he throws in a free refresher and my friend buys me a blueberry muffin. We head back to the hotel so I can freshen up and change into my birthday dress. We take a nap and head back out for the night on the train (
$8.96 RT for 2). We have dinner at a delicious restaurant, which my friend pays for.
Our last stop of the night is an Afro-Caribbean spot that has great music and friendly staff. I tell the bartender it’s my birthday and ask for a drink recommendation. He makes some spicy concoction in a gold bowl with peppers. It’s quite delicious but is strong and makes my nose run! The staff gifts me at least two more shots, and I decide to call it quits on alcohol for the night after that. We dance and laugh the night away with the friendly staff, and I pick up the tab before we leave (
$27.81).
Day 3 Spend - $65.50
Day 4 My friend has been teasing a surprise and finally reveals it’s Disneyland! I laugh and realize I hadn’t disclosed the rest of my itinerary — I have a Disneyland reservation for Monday (after my friends went home)! However, I booked a non-park hopper ticket for Walt Disney Studios, so I’m excited to be able to experience them both thanks to my friend!
We had a late, drunk night last night so we started the day a bit late. Grabbed a quick brunch (
$6.74) and head to Chessy via the train (
$19.68). We got Premier Access (skip the line/lightning lane) for a handful of rides (
$79.15), I bought some Stitch merch (
$21.39), and we got ice cream (
$5.35).
After a few hours at Disney, we head back to Paris to meet up with one of my friends from college who also lives in London. He’s a hyperextrovert and is ready to hit the town
immediately. We wanted to go to the Eiffel Tower, but missed the last bus and grabbed dinner nearby (
$89.96). My friend from high school started feeling a bit sick, so she went back to the hotel and my college buddy and I spend the night bar hopping, dancing, chatting, and eating until 3am (
$37.44).
Day 4 Spend - $259.71
Day 5 Both friends head back to London today but at different times. I start the day a bit late after saying goodbye to my high school friend.
My college friend and I grab breakfast at a nearby restaurant (
$41.18). After that, we head out to explore an area of the city near the train station so it’s easy for him to board the 5pm train. We grab some pastries and a baguette (
$11.66) and set out to explore. We saw the lock bridge, Arc de Triomphe, took goofy photos, visited the Notre Dame restoration exhibit, and danced alongside a drum parade.
On the walk back to my room, I check my email to see I missed the Eiffel Tower climbing tour I scheduled back in September. I go back to the room, let my phone charge, and pay a fee to reschedule the tour (
$10.70). I head out to see the Eiffel and other tourists sites via a Sundown Seine river cruise (
$8.99 for 4 bus tickets).
After a few hours, I’m beat and head back to the Sonder. I got a Poke Bowl from a French/Hawaiian/Sushi fusion place we passed by last night and some chicken wings (
$22.89). I spend the rest of the night relaxing.
Day 5 Spend - $95.42
Day 6 I
really want to sleep in, but the Climbing tour doesn’t allow cancellations within 24 hours and charge no-shows. I head out around 9:30 am. Despite being tired and annoyed, the tour was great. I have a lunch Steakhouse reservation at 2:30pm at Disney, so I’m sort of in a rush and happy the tour ends right on time at 12:30. I hop on the train (
$10.70 RT tickets) and make it to Disneyland at 1:30 pm.
With an hour before my reservation, I stop into a bunch of stores and buy merch (
$70.60). I make my way to The Steakhouse for lunch (
$37.44). I am
stuffed, so I walk a couple laps around Walt Disney Studios to get a lay of the land, take photos, and walk off lunch before indulging in some shows and rides.
A couple hours go by and I grab some dessert (
$4.28) and rent a portable charger (
$4.28). I wanted to ride Crush’s Coaster before my dinner reservation, but it had a crazy wait time and premier access sold out for the day, so I buy premier access for and ride Avenger’s Flight Force instead (
$12.84), return the portable charger, and head to dinner at Bistrot Chez Remy (
$58.83).
I stay until 9:30 pm for the light show, have snacks (
$9.63), then head back to the hotel to shower, pack, and sleep.
Day 6 Spend - $208.60
Day 7 I have a protein bar for breakfast, check out at 10am, and grab a final ticket (
$12.29) to the airport. I start to feel lightheaded and try to drink some water, but it doesn’t help much. So, I get McDonalds (
$8.91) before boarding my flight and feel a lot better. I grab a Kinder (
$1.72) from a nearby store because I’d never tried one.
Amazing! I am excited to get home and get back into my normal meal prep and exercise routine. I make it back to Philly at 7pm. I take a shower and go straight to bed.
Day 7 Spend - $22.71 — Week Total - $760.52 Food + Drink -
$406.74 Fun / Entertainment -
$194.68 (shopping, tour reschedule, premier lanes) Home + Health -
$34.39 (universal adapter) Clothes + Beauty -
$45.35 (last minute toiletries) Transport -
$72.80 Other -
$4.28 (portable charger rental) — Lastly, reflect on your diary! While I’d never spend close to this in a normal week, celebrating my birthday in a way I enjoy is very important to me. I’m excited to travel more in the future.
I feel like I spent too much money on individual transport tickets; I should’ve brought the booklet of 10. But $73 for a bunch of days is still pretty cheap. I had a sinking fund of $600 originally, but the cash gifts from my mom and brother increased it to $900.
Overall, Paris was cheaper than I expected. I was worried $600 wouldn’t be enough. I picked up the tab a lot of places since there wasn’t an easy way for us to split the bill in multiple currencies (USD, pounds, euros), and I’m trying to hit the minimum spend on a new credit card. Had I been more willing to figure out bill splitting, I probably could've stayed under $600.
Relatedly - this trip inspired me to revisit my goal of becoming fully fluent in Spanish. French-speakers were visibly irritated when I spoke English (which I wasn’t upset about and expected). I did practice some French (beyond the basics like bonjour and merci) with my sister before the trip, but it always came out sounding like Spanish. So, after the first day, I resorted to starting conversations in Spanish.
If they spoke Spanish, great! However, many were caught off guard and didn’t speak Spanish, so I would
then ask, in Spanish, if they spoke English, then converse in English — which made them noticeably nicer. Definitely gonna work on brushing up my Spanish and work towards fluency. I eventually want to learn French and ASL, too.

2023.03.22 11:40 RomanceMari5 Whitehole Finance and its unique EcoScore
| https://preview.redd.it/i8gsleq5o9pa1.png?width=574&format=png&auto=webp&s=c7b268d07182229f39f28160478702f3a9b70676 Whitehole Finance is a decentralized multi-asset lending protocol that can simply deposit, borrow, and use NFTs and crypto assets. To encourage users to actively participate in the protocol, Whitehole Finance has developed a unique EcoScore system that determines the contribution of each user to the ecosystem as a whole. The EcoScore is divided into 5 zones (red, orange, yellow, light green, and green), with each zone providing different benefits proportional to its importance to the ecosystem. Users with high loyalty to the protocol and contribution to the ecosystem as a whole have the opportunity to receive more benefits, which can help to increase revenues from participation in the protocol. The opposite situation (low zone) leads to lower profits. The EcoScore system is unique in that it uses inflation ≈ deflation weights. That is, it allows for a balanced distribution of resources between protocol owners, taking into account their loyalty and contribution to the ecosystem. This helps to keep overall inflation at a constant level and reduce the amount of GRV distributed in the market. In addition, even if the amount of GRV is small or the share is small, participation in the system is not impossible, as the EcoScore is linked to the degree of achievement of the individual. Compared to traditional platforms that do not have such a system, Whitehole Finance enables users to increase their interest rate by actively participating in the protocol and maintaining a high EcoScore zone. However, it is important to maintain a balance between the amount of veGRV and the declared GRV amount to increase the reward. EcoZone calculation method The claim ratio of reward GRV to the amount of veGRV serves as the benchmark for evaluating a user’s Eco Zone. The EcoGauge as the Deposit Ratio is how the ratio is displayed (DR). DR=(veGRV−Claimed∗0.5) / veGRV∗100DR “Claimed” is the percentage of GRV rewards that can be converted into cash. This percentage depends on the current track percentage and is reflected in my zone change. If I have additional claims, the amount of “claimed” percentage will first be added to my existing claimed amount and then calculated. Green has significant advantages - Maximum boost multiplier 3.0x
- A 50% tax exemption for PPTs
- Up to 40% of claim tax exemption
- Up to 1.0% of withdrawal fees are waived
- Weekly distribution of rebates based on protocol income for veGRV stakeholders.
The Minimum Lock up period is the minimum required time period to keep the Green and Light Green benefits of the GRV token. If the lock-up period is less than 3 months (12 weeks), even high DR Green users will switch to Light Green. Users need to consistently increase their lock-up period to maintain a high zone, known as Lock Extension. Claim Tax is a tax levied on interest claims to increase the price of GRV and maintain a positive ecosystem cycle. Higher-zoned users are exempt from paying taxes, and the majority of the GRV tax is burned. PPT, or Price Protection Tax, is imposed according to a user’s zone if the market price of GRV decreases by a specific percentage or more as compared to the average standard price for the previous 7 days. This is to avoid a dramatic decline in GRV’s price. https://preview.redd.it/6gv22jg8o9pa1.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eeb2c1c110bf89fba40bc65bce65409dd8547f8e For example, I will show three different scenarios related to earning and receiving GRV rewards in EcoScore. - GRV = 1 USDT
- USDT Pool APR 10%
- James doesn’t have veGRV right now, thus Red Zone uses the default boost ratio of 1.0x.
- James is now farming in Whitehole for 1000 USDT.
- Taxes include the claimed tax and the PPT tax, which are both claim taxes used to prevent price falls.
James earned 100 GRV from his farming interest one year later (Unclaimed Rewards). In Case 1, James claims his earned rewards instantly but is penalized by paying claim tax as his EcoScore is in the Red Zone. This results in James receiving 60 USDT instead of the full 100 USDT reward. In Case 2, James avoids the tax by purchasing and locking up GRV to expand his EHe can continue farming with a high boost APR and receive weekly rebates from the protocol revenue. In Case 3, James can choose to compound his unclaimed rewards by either adding them to his existing lockup or creating a new one. There is a tax applied to this activity, but it may be discounted. In summary, Whitehole Finance offers a unique and innovative solution for multi-asset lending protocols, which is why it has quickly gained popularity in the DeFi community. By creating a fair ecosystem for everyone and offering a more efficient distribution of management fees, the platform is a better alternative to existing DeFi platforms. 2023.03.22 11:09 StuPots790 My perspective on Witty
My opinion of Witty is shaped by perhaps unfair comparisons to Mike who is actually laugh-out-loud funny. The impersonations, improvisation and musical talent are hard to deny. (Found Mike's burner) Hoch was (is) also lol funny.
When I want sports radio, I listen to PFT Live w/ Mike Florio or my local station 1310 The Ticket.
The Dan Lebatard Show with Stugotz is not sports radio. It's something more wonderful. It's something more entertaining. It's rare. A free source of joy I've had "across decades." Thank you Dan and co.
Back to the subject, Witty is not laugh-out-loud funny. Self-serious even while goofing around. It's not that he lacks a sense of humor, it's that he is unable to entertain in the pure form. Play-by-play is a role well suited for him. It's funny how Dan often says other media members or sports personalities are "starched," while his content is more authentic or uncompromised by bureaucracy. I can't think of anybody talking sports (podcasting, not television where starch is more a part of the job) more starched than Witty.
I'd like to elaborate, and this is where I may be projecting my own insecurities and I apologize if this is insulting or offensive to anyone.
Witty as a person doesn't fit. In Dan's words, "We are a brown show. We are proudly Miami." One of the most admirable things about Dan is how he shared a national platform with his father. Papi introduced sports fans to an authentic Cuban-American and the show didn't hold back with references to culture or accents. (Papi on the air reading gangster rap lyrics for instance). It's different. It represents a part of America whose voices aren't heard as often. This resonated personally since I am also a bilingual immigrant, but could only dream of building a career with my own father and honestly envy that type of father-son bond.
When the Boston radio guys insulted Papi and when the ignorants would call him "Mexican" as an insult, it was obvious that even in the fun little world of sports media you cannot escape "race" or US history itself.
Back in the 790 days Roy was a young black dude with no background in sports who earned a spot on the show. I've spent over 20 years listening to sports radio and that was (perhaps still isn't) a common thing. Juju Gotti isn't a common thing. Calling your producers The Shipping Container filled with Frightened Refugees isn't a common thing. Pipo.
I'd add that none of this has anything to do with Trump, Twitter, BLM, Kaepernick, Jemel Hill, ESPN, Clay Travis, ect. Dan may have taken a "side" on recent issues, but even if he hadn't my point would stand.
& this is where Witty and whiteness comes in. The show refers to it but in different words. Fancy lad. Anglophile. The other day Witty had to say that the James Bond franchise was obviously greater than Rocky and Mike just had to say "give it up man you're not English!" He was joking, but only a little.
It is uncomfortable for me to say this about someone else. As a non-white person I remember being in HS and wanting to be "white." Obviously that didn't mean I wanted new skin. It meant wanting to be successful. Or wealthy. Or popular. Or desirable. Or prestigious. Anglo civilizations were portrayed as superior in every way. I thought all those things and "white" meant the same shit.
Presently, I am 30 years old and none of these issues impact me at all in the actual physical world. However, in my mind I wonder if I resent Witty for being a brown person who so blatantly behaves white? & what the hell does that even mean? How do I reconcile that I am wrong for having expectations of a man's character based on their genetics, something they have no control over?
This has been a clumsy effort to describe something that is completely subjective. I can't offer you an actual definition of brown or whiteness. Nor can I truly say I understand what race is.
If you've made it this far, you must love the show as I do and it's an important conversation I'm glad we're having it. Overall, I didnt think Witty was a great fit for the show and glad he has moved onto what seems to be great opportunities.

2023.03.22 07:47 PracticalEffective38 How Watch "Scream VI" (2023) Online For Free Reddit
Horror Movies! Here are options for downloading or watching Scream 6 streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch the Paramount Pictures horror movies at home. Is Scream VI 2023 available to stream? Is watching Scream 6 on Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service.
The Scream franchise continues to deliver some of the best horror movies in the business. Thanks to great character development, amazing set pieces, and an engaging story, our Scream 6 review gave the film a rare 9 out of 10. If you're a fan of any of the Scream movies, this one is a must-watch.
Ghostface is back! There was an 11-year gap between the fourth and fifth installments of the Scream films — and it looks like the ultra-long waits for new chapters of the hit slasher movies have come to an end as Scream VI is set to hit theaters this week.
Starring Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, Scream VI picks up where its predecessor left off — with Tara and Samantha moving from Woodsboro, Calif., and starting over in New York City. However, they soon become the target of a new Ghostface killer.
So where can you watch Scream VI? Is it on Netflix? What about HBO Max? Here's your guide to everything you need to know about how to watch slasher franchise Scream 6 where to watch it.
When Is Scream 6 Release Date?
If you're wondering when the next Scream movies is coming out, it's in theaters tonight. The wider release date is set for March 10, 2023. The film will supposedly feature the "most agressive and violent Ghostface we've ever seen".
It will not be available on any streaming platform, nor will it be available to rent or buy via any digital or VOD service such as Amazon Prime.
Where To Watch Scream 6:
As of now, the only way to watch Scream 6 is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, March 10. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube and Apple, or become available to stream on Paramount+.
When Will Scream 6 Be Available to Stream Online?
We don't yet know when Scream 6 will be available to stream at home. We do know, however, that it will most likely be coming to Paramount+ rather than Netflix or HBO Max. If Scream 5 is any indication of what we can expect for the latest film, we could possibly see it getting a digital release just 45 days after it hits theaters. That would put the date sometime around late April potentially.
Will Scream 6 Be On Netflix?
No, Scream 6 will not be on Netflix — at least not anytime soon, since it will go to Paramount+ after its theatrical run.
Scream 6 will likely not release on Netflix, as it should be exclusive to Paramount Plus when it releases on streaming. Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group are the companies behind the horror flick, so it would be a very strange move for them to allow the movie to stream elsewhere.
Will Scream 6 Be On HBO Max?
No, Scream 6 is not on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Will Scream 6 Be On Paramount?
While a Paramount+ release date for Scream VI has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate based on a previous Paramount Pictures movie. Babylon, which was released in theaters on Dec. 23, 2022, came to the streaming platform on Feb. 21, 2023 — about two months after its debut. If Scream VI follows the same trajectory, we could be watching it from the comfort of our homes by mid-May 2023.
Is Scream 6 Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new horror movie Scream 6 on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
How to Watch Scream Online:
The Scream franchise debuted in 1996, with a screenplay by Kevin Williamson (then best-known for creating Dawson’s Creek) and director Wes Craven, a lifelong horror fan who created the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. The film was a huge commercial and critical success, bringing in almost $200 million at the box office worldwide, while helping to revive the “slasher film” genre (just see all the other horror films that were made after the success of Scream). The opening scene with Drew Barrymore remains one of the most memorable — and most-spoofed — scenes today.
If you want to watch the original Scream online, you can find it on Paramount+. A Paramount+ subscription starts at just $4.99 a month and will let you watch the 1996 Scream online on your laptop, TV, tablet or phone. You can stream Scream as many times as you want with your Paramount+ login.
How to Watch Scream VI Online For Free?
Most Viewed, Most Favorite, Top Rating, Top IMDb movies online. Here we can download and watch 123movies movies offline. 123Movies website is the best alternative to Scream VI (2023) free online. We will recommend 123Movies is the best Solarmovie alternatives.
There are a few ways to watch Scream 6 online in the U.S. You can use a streaming service such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video. You can also rent or buy the movie on iTunes or Google Play. You can also watch it on-demand or on a streaming app available on your TV or streaming device if you have cable.
Scream 6 Cast and Characters
Scream 6 was written by James Vanderbil, Guy Busick, and Kevin Williamson. It was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and stars the following actors:
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”) and Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.(-Mashallah-)

2023.03.22 07:34 Big-Abbreviations-50 Should I? And if so, any suggestions? Usually they don’t even reply, lol
2023.03.22 07:30 TheSajuukKhar Ten Forward Weekly 3/21/2023
- Next event, after Voth event ends, is First Contact Day
- Ship from SNW soon(tm), though probably not one we were expecting
- Zen store ships coming up. Kael believes one of the Zen store ships is technically a Lower Decks ship
- Kael hasn't heard anything regarding a bundle for DSC ending
- Unlikely Cryptic will make new starting experiences
- Kael believes theres some new item set coming soon
- When STO was launched on consoles there were 15 countries that it didn't get launched on the Playstation store for, for w/e reason, and Cryptic is working on getting that fixed
- "End of game" for STO isn't happening any time soon
- The tech is there to make costume items for vanity pets, Kael isn't sure it will happen any time soon
- Kael will pass on beards for Romulans
- When asked about making older, non full spec, Zen store/lockbox ships upgraded to full spec to make them more relevant/on par with current ships Kael said that the T6x upgrades were made to help with that, and that theres more stuff coming in that area
- To get the Voth battlezone to work with the event Jesse had to do some "under the hood" magic because the game editor couldn't do it directly. The data was able to be handled by the engine, just not in a way that was directly available to them. Had to get a new icon made for the battlezone from the UI artist Joe. "Most difficult" part was opening up the battlezone and editing all the events to capture areas to give credit for completion of the event which involved.... one whole line of data!
- Jesse says it was about time they added the Battlezones to events. STO has been running events using TFOs/mini-games like Omega molecules for awhile now, why not integrate the battlezones? They have obvious break points in capturing sections that can be used for event credit. This new option seems to resonate with players, so they might do it again.
- When asked about small craft content Kael/Jesse talk about the "Mario Kart" gameplay they tested for small craft in the past. They spent weeks and weeks making it, and even got to actual testing of it, but found that the amount of work needed to make it feel good in the game was more than the payoff they would get out of it(there was a semi-long conversation about camera, movement, weight of objects, etc, between games that makes each game work/feel as it needs to be, and how STO's ship system just wasn't built for cart racing so it doesn't feel good)
- Issue with bringing the DPS test map on Tribble over to live involves both fixing rewards, and that it was made by a developer who no longer works for Cryptic so someone like Jesse would have to find the map in the code, see it how works, bring it over to live, find ways to it could be exploited and fix them, etc.(Cryptic has also previously mentioned the map isn't very optimized and bringing it over to live server would lag the game)
- Issue with the old Maco/Omega/Honor Guard unlocks is that they were awarded in ways that they don't structure the data anymore. So a designer like Jesse has to go find where in the data did they award this thing. Then it has to be passed to a programmer who has to figure out how this is actually unlocking the costume. Then it has to be sent to a costume artist who has to decide if this is something they want to give out, or does it need to be fixed up for clipping/species lists. Its not as easy as just "flip switch costume unlocked". Kael says he will ask Jarod about see if it can be added as rewards for like a Borg event or something
- Spock's volcano suit was brought up as a possible reward for this years First contact Day, but a more fun reward was thought up/decided instead. Cryptic is still aware people want it, but right now its just a costume with no stats and someone in systems would have to build the actual EV suit
- Ground vehicles, like the Argo, would require a larger overhaul to get working. The Voth mech suit works because its basically just "big group person". While Champions has vehicles theres some hard limits on what they can do. Compares it to the shuttle issues. What does it feel like to drive a car in STO? What maps can you use it on? Is it actually going to fit in all the places we want it to on a map? What happens when you crash? When you run into another car? When you drive over a critter? How is throttle handled? Do you have to shift gears? Is it automatic? Can other people ride in the car and/or possibly shoot a gun while in the car?
- Kael will ask Jarod about making older party poppers available
- Turning hoverboards on in maps like New Romulus is possible, but would require some fiddling since hoverboards work by defining a "volume" on the map where hoverboards are allowed. You have to be careful about things like ground clearance. If you notice you can just too high and accidentally have the hoverboard power turn off because the volume for allowing hoverboards only really covers the area directly above the water
- Cryptic is having ongoing discussions about how to make the V-Rex less campable
- V-Rex not counting for daily event progress it intended because of the camping issue
- Porting things between STO/Champions/Neverwitner is really difficult. Champion is locked to its own code branch meaning its more stable, but doesn't have many of the features STO/Neverwinter do. STO and Neverwinter are easier to port between because they're developed in tandem, but differences in how the game's play mean you can just port enemies between games without having to do things like rebuilding the animation rig.
- Champions isn't on console because it just didn't work out that way. It was originally going to be on Xbox 360, but that didn't work out for w/e reason.
- Reason why special BOFFs, like those based on actors, aren't editable is due to costume clipping/performance reasons. Some costume pieces don't look good on X species, other don't match well with other costume part, some things like capes/loose cloth is very performance heavy, etc. Geordi and EMH BOFFs were editable because of being very generic human shape without too many issues.
- The reason why Defense of Starbase One was bottable was because it was originally designed to require you to clean up each wave of Klingons before it would move onto the next wave. However, around the time they made it, there was a big engine bug where all instances of that "clean up the remaining enemy" would never complete. This was due to a fake entity being on the map/being used for code purposes that the game would count as an enemy even though it wasn't. In order to get around the bug the TFO was changed to just have automatic wave progression, which made it AFKable. That issue was solved, so they changed it back/adjusted what the game looks for in regards to people AFKing to make it not AFKable.
- Oddest bug Christian ever worked on was a bug that caused two people PVPing to revert to level 0 after the PVP match was over
- John said he would think about changing the Terran Valkyrie pets to use agony phasers, and that it was an interesting idea, but no confirmation of if/when it will happen.
- Updating the old uniforms is unlikely since the character artists are working on new things hinted at the end of recent missions(likely talking about the Borg arc tease)
- To revamp something like DSEs would require
- The environment team looking at the map and deciding if it looks good enough, or if its janky/needs some fixes. Spend several weeks doing that.
- Content would have to track down all associated bugs like critters warping in, fading out, then warping back in again. That's a big question mark since Cryptic doesn't know what causes it, and thus, how long it will take to fix.
- In regards to refreshing the content itself would require things like. Bringing in a voiced characteactor to be a liaison for the DSEs. Have the writer write up different text for each type of DSE. Couple days for writing, a couple days for recording, a couple days for the audio team to set audio levels and hook it all up. Character reaction has to sculpt their likeness, even if its a mini contact box and not a full dialogue screen. That's weeks of work. If its an STO original character thats still days of work. Content would then have to do things like make higher level DSEs. This would involve copying the DSEs and changing the encounter levels on them, set it all up, and make a new version of the map for all of this stuff. That's a couple days of work due to the number of DSEs. Adding new gameplay features like closing portals, rescuing ships etc, would take a few days to a week. Then it needs to be copied to all the other DSEs and edited for each kind of enemy to make sure it works. Then it goes to QA who has to test all of them, all variations, how it works with teams of people, if things like fighting one type of enemy breaks the new gameplay feature. This is a few weeks for QA to go through everything/send back to programmers to fix issues. Would also include adding DSEs to quadrants without them, critter groups not currently covered by DSEs, new accolades, trying them into the endeavor system, etc. Jesse says he would schedule around 1.5-2 months worth of time to bring DSEs up to 2023 levels of gameplay.
- Don't assume devs know about a bug just because its old, and if you've posted about it on the forums before, but it hasn't been fixed, don't be afraid to bump the thread up to get more visibility on it.
- fleet logo being available on ships/not is up to Thomas wanting it to be there or not
- Christian is always scanning the forums/Reddit for new bugs. But do include details/steps for recreating said bug. Just saying "x is broken" isn't helpful for the devs.
- Jesse would like to redo Khitomer in Stasis but it would require a lot of work.
Bug reports/resolutions
- Texas class not having the NA registry is a bug and is getting fixed either this week, or soon
- Bug regarding ISA right transformer not spawning with a shield has been reproduced by QA, and put on content, so it should be fixed soon
- Bug about Texas class console/experimental weapon misfiring was noted
- Female french twist hairstyle making your character invisible was reported, confirmed by QA, and has been sent to the team to fix
- Kael asked Christian to note the Beverly hair not being available for females
- Cryptic is looking into the block? on PS4
- Christian fixed the bug on the Valkyrie hanger pet visuals, and the Jem'Hadar Zen store ships having wrong descriptions.
- The teams disbanding at the end of a TFO bug is a bug that Cryptic has dealt with for years, and it keeps coming back every time they think they've squashed it.
- Jesse fixed the bug in "Stranded in Space" regarding the science career optional
- Screen flicker in Khitomer in Stasis TFO, and other older maps, was reported
- Starfleet 32C non admiral pants clipping through the jacket also noted
- Trauma response being buggy is a known issue
- Christian wrote down feedback about the synth ship getting a skin without the Federation logo on it.
- Lobi outfits not being able to be worn by BOFFs on at least the Xbox version was noted

2023.03.22 06:42 Competitive_Iron_645 We're working on a project to revive Dexter and give it a better ending!
I know, many fanfics have been written about Dexter, but me and my buddies are taking it to the next level, either with a comic book format and a machinima inside a video game. It will be free, we don't wanna profit off this cause that ain't cool or legal. MCH will be featured using a deepfaked voice, the technology is getting better each day. I've used the technology for my Fallout 4 mods and was very happy with it.
Here is the plot summary we agreed upon and it continues after New Blood:
As Angela calls in the shooting, the FBI and Batista start going over there. Dexter has survived, however. Turns out he was wearing Logan's kevlar vest and only got injured. He expected to die, but survived. He sneaks away while Angela is searching a trash can nearby for evidence. The FBI and Batista arrive too late.
Later Dexter blackmails Angela. She will help him leave town or he will expose the lie of Angela "shooting" him and Angela will lose her career, maybe go to prison. She's left no choice and agrees to help. She sneaks Dexter out of New York state in the trunk of a police car. The FBI let her pass all the checkpoints.
Dexter needs medical help and gets it from a vet. The vet doesn't quite fit the code, but he's actually torturing and killing animals. Oh well, better get rid of him anyway cause he's a witness and still a pretty bad guy. Dexter kills him. The vet is the first person to explicitly name him as the "BHB" before he dies.
From a grave in Miami, a man emerges. It is James Doakes, his body seemingly restored.
Dexter changes his appearance and tries to get into contact with Lumen who's in Minneapolis, the one person who knew his secret. She helps him set up a new identity, but she's also married now, making things pretty awkward. He must now adapt in a new city while in hiding and struggling with his urges. His new identity is Daniel Ambrose.
Doakes has taken on a new identity as Steve Mathison and infiltrates himself in Dexter's new life, causing all sorts of problems for Dexter in subtle ways. He gets him in trouble with his employer, his new friends, even with Lumen and her husband. He makes his double life almost impossible for example taking bits and pieces of evidence back to his crime scenes. This eventually causes the FBI to come to town and start looking for Dexter.
Lumen eventually will reconcile with Dexter and team up against Doakes and then there's a crazy exchange of gunfire 4-ways between Doakes (who seems to come back healthy every time he's mortally injured by Dexter) Dexter&Lumen, a gang of hoodlums that Dexter was tracking and some FBI forces, leaving many dead.
In the finale, there's a crazy chase to the location where this all started. The Everglades. Doakes wants Dexter to turn himself in and take responsibility for framing him. Dexter agrees so he can save Lumen, but it's revealed that Moloch resurrected Doakes and evil power is keeping Doakes alive. Doakes kills Lumen. It was all a trick again. Dexter collapses on the ground, devastated, Debra, Rita and Hannah died, now he's lost Lumen. Moloch reveals he caused Hannah's cancer.
This sends Dexter into a rage, he attempts to kill Doakes, but fails. Doakes walks off into the sunset.
Many months later, Dexter tracks Doakes down. He kills Doakes in a way that would make sure he never comes back, completely destroying his body in a woodchipper. In reality, Doakes set him up again and wanted to be killed. The video footage conclusively proves it is not self-defense.
Dexter gets acquitted in court of being the BHB and even of killing Logan thanks to his lawyer arguing that Logan was an abusive cop who wanted to rape him in jail. His lawyer has no defense for the killing of Doakes, or rather Steve Mathison. He's sentenced to life but escapes thru the prison bus window and falls off a bridge into a lake in an apparent suicide.
We see Harrison and Angela attend Dexter's funeral and a spot of blood is seen on his shoe, implying that he's also become a vigilante serial killer.

2023.03.22 06:40 7silkee Jess vs Joseph possibly game plan
Ok hear me out, I for one do not believe Joseph and Ghost have any good intentions for Jess and I think Ive figured a small bit out.
Jess has just realised whens she battling Joseph she is not getting big gifts she cant get the challenges done like 4 roses and its just not profitable for her.
I think Joseph is controlling how much $ Jess is getting by holding her ‘hostage’ to a ‘friendship’ that she will sit in battles all day with him therefore not making money.
This is a long term pretty genius plan even as much as I dont approve of either.. this is smart of him. But Jess will figure it out and boot him soon.

2023.03.22 06:35 inklastforever 30 [M4F] MN/Anywhere Hopeless romantic turned nihilist seeks meaningful bond and hopefully LTR
I'm Mexican but grew up here in MN. 30 years old, 5'11" and 210 lbs. So a little chubby but I have been more active lately and have actually lost weight, about 40 lbs, over the winter.
Lately I've been trying to stay away from TV and reading more but I do enjoy a good movie or TV show. Mysteries/Fantasy are probably my favorite genres right alongside documentaries and other non fiction material. The Wire is my favorite show to give you some idea of the things I vibe with.
I love music and I like to write it as well. I play guitar along with some other instruments. I'm always down for live music and Jazz is my favorite kind of music. I enjoy photography whenever possible. Generally invovling going for a hike and snapping nature pics.
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I'm a sucker for a nice piece of cookware and cutlery. Bread baking is something I've been into for a while as well. When not cooking I love trying new places and experiencing new cuisines. Definitely not a same meal every day kind of guy.
I'm 420 friendly and imbibe frequently. I also enjoy a good drink, preferably straight whiskey, but I'll try anything once.
Not sure I even believe in love. Not sure I even think life has any meaning at this point. What I am sure about is one of the few things that actually has some meaning is the connection we make with others. A deep, intimate and meaningful bond is something I haven't made yet but still holding a smidge of hope it can happen.
Thanks for reading!
