For many months I have been puzzle-solving in my head trying to get to the bottom of what ASD really comes down to. And as many people here have posted before, behaviorally speaking, it is a difference in the way we physically think that is different. People on the spectrum often describe their social interactions as inherently trying to keep up with Neurotypicals and that NT's behave more emotionally and almost intuitively, counter to ASD invividuals which seem to require the need to constantly decipher social situations as they come.
Which got me thinking over several months during which I sporadically discussed this with my ADHD but non-autistic sibling, and essentially asked them to describe how they think to me. It took several different conversations for me to start understanding their thought process, though once I did, it made it easier to pinpoint what specific questions I should ask.
And the other day I think I pin-pointed the fact that when my sibling thinks of something, a specific concept (a Noun or Proper Noun) they have learned, their brain is flooding them with many different mental associations they have made about that one thing, and they cannot keep those associations from coming to the forefront of their mind whatsoever. Those associations are not logical. They are a mix of strings of information learned or feelings felt, and events happening in proxy during past experiences, other people they associate the specific concept with due to shared interaction between them and the specific concept, other potentially completely unrelated and sometimes just completely random associations between the specific concept and something else, things that may have no functional logical connection with the subject.
In contrast, when I think of a specific concept, only that concept is in mind at that given time. I have mental associations between things, I learn things, but they are not the same type of associations as NT's, and they are not at all being propagated to the forefront of my mind when I'm thinking about specific things. When I think about specific things I think about how they exist and function, and their established relationship with other things. It really can be described as puzzle-piece thinking. Where I feel like I have to decipher the world around me using all of the black and white rules and specific concepts I have managed to learn throughout my life, and how they all connect with each other. I think about everything this way from emotions to socializing to learning new skills to living everyday life. Now I have ADHD as well as ASD, so when I mean I only have one thing on my mind at a time I mean at a specific instant in time. My attention attempts to change to something else things around every 5 to 10 seconds. But the time frame of thinking im talking about is 2 or 3 seconds.
I was wondering if anyone related to my experiences or wanted to share any thoughts they had on this topic.

Husband and I were doing some yard cleanup last week, and hidden under some basic brush was a plant with thick, red thorns. Husband, who does fancy himself an amateur gardener, told me that this was a rosebush, and it was being choked out by all the wild brush (we had really let it go). I told him, ok, that’s fine, but right now it’s real jungle-y back here, and everything is getting cut back, and if they are roses (he again assured me they were), they they’re just not gonna be growing back.
Husband and I both grew up with narc parents. Mine played psychological warfare, his either ignored him or treated him like a house servant.
As Husband goes inside to look after the baby, and I continue attacking the wilderness that has become my suburban backyard, I think about this “rosebush,” with its thickened branches and too-big thorns. “This isn’t a rose bush,” I thought, annoyed, catching my arms and jeans on it all. “Not everything with red thorns has roses!”
And it made me think of how Husband views/deals with his parents. They don’t give a shit about him, and yet he’s still in contact with him. We had to basically insult them to get them to visit and meet their (second) grandson. (The “second” is very important - when I was still pregnant, MIL told us, disappointedly, “You can try for a girl next time!”) I think the only reason Husband still entertains their messages is because MIL keeps telling him she’s going to send him money - and it’s a lot.
All this to say (and thanks if you’ve read all this!), not every thornbush has roses. It’s a bush, and it’s tangled, and complicated, and what family isn’t, right? But yours has got these thorns, and they prick at you, and nag at you, and generally make life unpleasant. But there’s pretty flowers under here, isn’t there? Something sweet-smelling that can grow, that can make you happy? You just have to look past all these big, red thorns, and … aren’t these flowers supposed to be in here somewhere?
No.
Because not every thornbush has roses.
So you take that hedge trimmer to that bitch.

Let's imagine we are at an Olympic event, and you decided to participate in a 4 person relay race. But a day before the race you go up to authorities and demand/criticize that you want them to scale the difficulty to low for you since you are doing the relay race solo.

There are people out there, very smart and very tactful, they have spent hours mastering the trade and now they can do epic shit in the game. Like, doing a content solo when it was designed for 3/6 people.
Within 24 hrs Eso was able to complete that dungeon solo.

Just because there is content out there doesn't mean you gotta do it! Geez, take a pass! You are not supposed to have everything in this game. This is a huge game. There will always be people out there who will outperform you. Stop putting your worth into it. You set a goal for yourself and work towards achieving it. Changing the mission parameters to match success requirements to your skill level is something only a crazy person would do.
Giving criticism is one thing but it's getting out of hand. It's a beautiful dungeon. It's balanced with great views and easy enough mechanics for new light yet challenges for veterans. The loot is good too and the armor pieces are breathtakingly beautiful.

trigger warning: vent/rant?i felt like i had to put this. infj 7w6/6w7 here.english isn't my first language but i'm kinda fluent. i carry both some of the enfp and some of the infj traits,but im sure that im not an infp,which makes me think im an infj 7wX/Xw7. i tend to be talkative but still anxious(i dont want to hurt them or make them annoyed,and thats why i always say sorry) around my close friends that im quite convinced they wouldn't judge me,but around some of my family members and most of my friends,im really uninterested to talk and sometimes standoffish.and when i ask something from them they always go like "oh they interacted with us im sure that they will do it again with the same confidence and will" and give a irrevelanr answer even if they are accepting.if my life was a show and my friends watched it they would probably type me as a infp/intp. but im pretty sure some of my family members would type me as a intp. i just want someone to show me kindness and accepting and i think thats enough for my selfishness,my desire to drag attention to myself (which i dont have) and narcissism(i didn't got diagnosed yet but i have a few guesses.).i like to talk about interests experiences,fun things or what we have in common. daily events or trends dont really interest me,im hard of catching up to them.most people think i'm weird,and i have 2 or 3 personalities depending on who i am with. ugh,i dont want to be seen as like a lonebullied/weird girl in a Disney series/movie. i like to be listened to but dont like to be the center of attention too.i feel like a burden to everyone. so i always apologize,then think "they will get bored of me someday(my psychologist told me that so i started believing in it more)" ,try to reduce the amount but fail and voilà, a vicious cycle that ends up in nothing. i've been emotionally neglected,bullied,got excluded,had rumors about me and still trying to go through it,and sometimes i have breakdowns of how of a burden i am or sensory overload. i think that i am neurodivergent(maybe?) but my psychologist insists of not saying anything. im sorry for wasting your time on this.

Basically the title. I'm dating this guy, it's not romantic yet, we're getting to know each other, basically taking it slowly, but everything is on the right path.

I have a 2020 Santa Fe SEL which I love, but when I get out of the car and lock it with the keyfob, the alarm beep volume is too low. This has been torturing me for years. This show was an adaptation of an older, animated show that had a similar art style to Sailor Moon, but it wasn't very close. I'm making this post about the Netflix adaptation, but I could try and answer questions about the original if needed.
This was a episode series. All of the characters are these little rodent-like creatures, and looked close to either a mouse or a hamster. The main cast consisted of of 3 or 4 main characters that lived in a big tree together. On the outside, it looked like a normal tree, but on the inside, it was like a modern house. It also had an elevator inside it. This wasn't the only building, there was a whole town and neighborhood as well. I'm not confident in my memory about the setting or characters past this.
One of the episodes was about one of the main characters making a home security device for an invention contest. This character offers to show off how it works to their friends, and their friends agree to see. They install it in the tree-house, and the security device goes WILD, making it to where some of the characters are kicked out of the house, while the others are locked inside it. They ended up getting the device disabled in the end, and then the episode ended.
