Heyyo so, bit of backstory first.
In 2018, I started going to uni for Computer Science. Pandemic rolls around and I lose my job, lose my apartment, and have to move back with my parents about an hour away in the middle of nowhere. I've been here since and had to drop out ontop of that since we didn't really have internet out here when I had to move back in.
Finding a viable job / career out here is impossible. I can't work fast food jobs, which are the majority here (Can't be around hot / sharp objects with my Tourettes. Dont wanna lose any fingers or limbs). Everything else here is part time retail jobs that pay pretty shitty. I've survived because I live with my parents and I managed to find a seasonal job that pays pretty well, but I was recently told that my department is being cut and I'm being moved to a new one for only 16-20 hours a week. I've applied to several different jobs with the company and have spoken to managers to no luck.
I've been looking at WFH jobs and haven't had any luck either. I practice speed typing (record 163wpm, average 135) so I've been trying to apply for any Data Entry jobs I can come across. Haven't had any luck with that sadly either. Doesn't help that 99% of the jobs I come across on Linkedin / Indeed are those weird shady job board sites like Talentify.
I'm kinda just lost as to what I should do. College isn't really an option as I now have a car that I've still gotta pay off. Even if I could go back, I wouldn't go back to my original uni as it really sucked ass as a school. It's also roughly an hour drive back there so that's not much of an option to begin with. I'm not really sure how much employable skills I really have for a WFH option either tbh. I make animations but I cannot make art to save my life, I just animate premade puppets essentially. I also know a basic amount of premiere editing. I also owned / managed a fairly sizeable animation community for about 5 years too but I still don't know where I could begin looking for something that could utilize that.
Iunno man, sorry about the ranty-ish nature of this post. Kinda just frustrated with how little I've moved in life the past few years and don't really know how to move forward.

hi all. first apologies on formatting as im using mobile. english is my first language but i suck at it so my apologies for that too lol.
close friend of mine’s grandfather is really not doing well right now. hes in his mid 90s and while relatively doing okay for his age previously, he recently had covid + a uti and (to be blunt) is nearing the end of his time. friends grandmother is also not doing well as she also had covid and recently took a fall and broke a few bones so she is unable to assist with his care besides the fact that she is similar in age, albeit much more active.
i know my friends mother has hired a caretaker for the grandfather since he needs assistance walking, using the restroom, etc. but mom spends every weekend’s driving several hours to their house to take care of them while said caretaker is off (on top of taking care of the family + work). i know this has taken a big toll on her since she’s extremely close to her parents. on the other hand, my friend seems to be in some sort of denial about the situation since i tried to ask if they’d like to talk about it recently and they seem genuinely confused on why i would be concerned/there was absolutely nothing wrong w their grandparents.
i know this probably more details than necessary but anyways, ive gotten very close to the entire family after dating friend for a while and ive remained close to them after breaking up. their mom is a a mom figure to me since my parents are far away, and quite honestly she is such an amazing and lovely person that i’m certain she is a second mom to many of her kids friends.
she recently told me about how much this whole situation was weighing on her and i felt awful since i really didn’t have much to say besides i was sorry/ask if there was anything i could do, which i know can be a pretty unhelpful phrase when people are dealing with grief. i was wondering if you guys had any good suggestions on how to really be of assistance to their family during this time? i love them a lot and while obviously not trying to make it about me, it definitely is hard to see them hurting and id like to be there for them and ease things even in a tiny way since im a college student. we’re all jewish so im thinking making a kugel or some other food? i’m really not sure. thanks for any replies in advance :)

We have been together for 1.5 years. He likes to drink, I absolutely hate it. I’ve asked him if he could stop drinking in general and he gets overly mad at me, and he knows I hate when he drinks around me yet he still does it. I’ve told him my reasons for not liking alcohol (I had an abusive alcoholic father that chose alcohol over me when I was a child) yet he still won’t stop and gets mad at me every time I ask him not to drink and tells me everyone drinks and it’s apart of life and to get over it. Then if we are fighting about something and he’s with friends he drinks and acts like a total ass towards me. Not sure if continuing this relationship is worth it at this point, I don’t know how else to talk to him about alcohol. There are times where we go out and he’ll get me drinks just so he can drink as well and I just hate it.

I’m currently using a G30LP to commute to school and work but am looking to upgrade to something a bit better and more fun. My criteria are under $1500 (closer to $1000 would be ideal), 28+ mph, decent range, suspension, 10 in tires, and ideally under 60 lbs (I want to at least be able to carry it up a flight of stairs if I have to). I live in a city and encounter rough roads pretty often.
I’m currently looking at the Inokim Ox and Fluid Vista, as they seem to fit all my criteria. Was wondering if someone could steer me towards one or the other. Or if anyone has any other suggestions I would be open to that.
The main concern I have with the vista is the handling with solid tires. Main issue with the Ox (which is also a good thing) is how fancy it looks. I feel like it would be a greater target for theft in the event I have to lock it outside (which I do avoid doing but not always possible).
It seems that the Ox Super is a no brainer over the Hero. Would the Hero be worth considering just cause it weighs 5 lbs less?
Also, the Ox starts under 1 grand on Inokim’s website right now, and around $1300 on Fluid’s. Is Fluid’s customer support worth the extra few hundred?

It seems that the Ox Super is a no brainer over the Hero. Would the Hero be worth considering just cause it weighs 5 lbs less?
Also, the Ox starts under 1 grand on Inokim’s website right now, and around $1300 on Fluid’s. Is Fluid’s customer support worth the extra few hundred?

This might not be the right subreddit to post on but it’s the closest to what I’m feeling.
I used to be a mostly confident person, comfortable with who I was. I was never the most outgoing person in the world, was fairly quiet in school and around some family, but I had close friends that I would hang out with no problem. I’ve always struggled with some social anxiety but it was never to the point that I couldn’t go to school or keep a job or anything like that. It would usually go away as I got to know the person.
2 years ago now, I started smoking weed almost daily. Maybe that had something to do with this, I don’t know. That’s just a part of the story During that time I was smoking weed, one day I had gotten the idea that maybe my mom was a narcissist and that she was emotionally/mentally abusing my dad for years as he had a ruptured brain aneurysm about 5 years before hand. I started to see that maybe there was a weird power dynamic going on between them, with my dad becoming the submissive one in the relationship and stopped questioning and arguing with my mom. Now at the time I was high when I “realized” this, weed does tend to make you think deeper about things, but I don’t know if weed had any role in it. Well I started to do a lot of research on narcissistic abuse and started to pull away from my mom. At first the narcissist thing made a lot of sense, but the more I researched and pulled away, the less it all made sense. My social anxiety also got a lot worse during this time. I got to the point where I thought my dad and I needed to move out. Then one day, while high, I had another “realization” that maybe I was the narcissist and not my mom. I basically had a very bad anxiety attack. After that attack, my social anxiety has been through the roof, not just with people I just met but with close friends and even my own family. That’s why I’ve began to think this is not social anxiety alone but something else. Like I’m doubting myself way too much.
This is a very oversimplified story, and I’ve been going to therapy to work on whatever this is, I’m pretty sure that we’ve ruled out OCD as that approach didn’t work.
Long story short my mom wasn’t a narcissist from the beginning. I don’t think I’m one either. (Hopefully)
I don’t know what to do anymore, maybe I just need to let it all go lol. But I hope I’m not the only one that has ever experienced something like this

So, before I uninstalled the game (still love it, just that a laptop can only store so much before Lightfall would force me to blow through alot of my storage that I just didn't have.) the biggest achievement I had was beating that damned last level of the season. Where you sucked at platforming in space to stop that one Elkisni woman from firing the Warsats. I remember getting to the end of that mission and hitting the largest brick wall I had ever hit.
To make it clear, I am a Guardian of very simple means. If the gear has a bigger number, I equip it. Simple as. Yet as someone who didn't really grind out for gear all that often, and just did his best with his painfully underpowered Light Level. A Suros Regime, a Side Back and a Machine Gun and some Winters Guile (As A Warlock, Mind you ) to my name, I blew through the filler enemies and myself multiple times due to void bombing and misaimed rockets. Jumping up and down and hoping to god that my strategy of letting my voidly black hole suck back the health and do chip damage against that overpowered Witch would see me through.
It sucked.
I died.
Alot.
But Dear God when I finally beat that Bugeyed son of a bitch, it felt fucking good. Not in a "now its finally over" kinda way. But that feeling where you're fisting pumping yourself in the college dorm room after what feels like an hour of dumping all your ammo, specials, and Voidwalker space magic into the damn thing. This wasn't relief. This feeling was pride. I'd like to imagine that my robo guardian with a Thorium hood on his head, felt nothing but pride as he put his finger on the trigger and decimated the Hive's best. Minus the large amounts of death and half the swearing of course.
Destiny is a game that I remember back from Destiny Prime. Cool ass commercials, the Live Action Guardians and getting hyped over those said guardians clearing the moon to fight Oryx. As soon as I get the chance to. Whether that be Destiny 2 years from now or some kind of Destiny 3. I will put myself back in the fight. No satisfaction will ever match getting down in the grit and pushing in skulls by your own power in a game like this.
