Height differences
2023.06.04 22:34 nightshade_666_ Height differences
| Ok so I don't know whether to consider this a guilty pleasure, a preference, or just a like, but I really love it when there is a significant height difference between the two main characters in a bl... Some of the bls that I prefer are the ones were the main characters have a decent height difference... Not me, cherry blossoms after winter, semantic error, history 3: modc, etc.... It always seems like those are the best ones to me and I don't know why... What about you guys do you have a preference weither it be a height difference an age gap etc in bls? submitted by nightshade_666_ to boyslove [link] [comments] |

2023.06.04 22:22 cranberryjuice666 BPAL reviews part 1 <3
finally received my haul of imps that i got for my birthday and i was so excited. to be honest, not that many of them i would get as a full size bottle, however i for sure discovered some new things i didn't know i liked, and some of the scents were truly like nothing i have tried before.
i'll be very curious to see whether your impressions about the scents were different or the same as mine :)
short overview:
highlights: Vice, The Black Rider, Le Lethe
honorable mentions: Santo Domingo, Port Au Prince, Horreur Sympathique,
Wanda, Iago
didn’t like at all: Jazz Funeral, Sin
dance of death 6/10
dark, murky, smoky, but i think that the patchouli note is kinda off in this one. i am not sure it’s patchouli, but there is some note that is ruining it for me. cool scent, however, and definitely matches the name.
horreur sympathique 8/10
right from the bottle - floral and sweet, smells of orange also. similarly to Vice, it makes me feel like i want to ‘eat’ the skin when it is applied. unexpectedly, i kinda like it. however, as it dries down it becomes a bit nauseating. there is something insidious about the sweetness, and i guess this is what the name is all about.
hellfire 7/10
from the bottle - smells like a smoky cocktail. as it dried down on skin, it became softer; it is smoky and heavy, but the leather note is not great here, and imo it feels a bit imbalanced, i mean it lacks something that would balance the smoke notes, but that’s just me. also the incense notes feel a bit like soap to me.
#20 love oil 7.5/10
wet - smells a bit bitter but citrusy and floral. as it dries down, i can feel more green and citrusy, maybe there is a hint of almond in it. very light and refreshing. not really my thing, but it was given to me as a free sample and i enjoyed it.
bastet 7.5/10
from the bottle smells like amber and maybe almond, i think. sweet and nice, however a bit like cheap perfume. when dried, it became warmer and richer, more spicy and musky. it’s nice, but reminds me of some mainstream perfume, i can’t recall which.
le lethe 10/10
ahh, already smells really cool wet. extremely spicy, like Arabesque but richer and more intense. i quickly start to smell the tobacco and other spices from what i felt originally. love it.
bram stoker 6/10
in general smells like solid masculine cologne, however it is more grassy than the more mainstream ones and has some bitterness to it. it’s good of you like this sort of thing, bit i gave it only 6/10 because i wouldn’t call it interesting or unusual.
lust 7/10
in the bottle - smells like spices and incense, but has a certain freshness to it. i recently tried Arabesque from Alkemia, and this has similar vibes. but this is surely more intense and musky. as it dries down it becomes more flowery. i personally don’t really associate it with lust, but whatever.
after it dried down even more, i think it transformed into a more powdery/musky/skin-like scent, which i could associate with lust somewhat, but in general it is a spice scent for sure.
i am not a big fan of it however i gave it a rather high mark because of its complexity.
vice 10/10
unexpectedly ffing amazing. opens as something reminiscent of a chocolate bar, however i also got sweet chewing gum vibes from it. as it dries down, you feel more of the cherry and orange blossom. it is very sweet and has a strong presence, however it is not the kind of sweet that gives you a headache. as i said, expected nothing from it, mostly ordered because of the cool name, however i might be getting a full bottle of this. by the way, in this case i think the name really suits the scent.
as it dried down a bit more, it transformed into a very soft velvety sweet cherry/chocolate scent, i love it. never thought i’d say this about a perfume, but when applied on skin it makes me want to eat it. i’d rather call this scent ‘Lust’ than the actual one.
for some reason, this scent feels very sexual, it makes me feel sexually aroused, i am not really sure why.
sin 4/10
opens spicy and herbal, reminds me of Boneyard by Black Baccara a bit. as it dries down it becomes more herbal and starts to smell like a pharmacy. frankly speaking, not for me.

2023.06.04 22:18 PrairieScout [TOMT] [1990s] Compilation album featuring the song “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White”
I remember seeing a commercial for a compilation album that featured the song “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White” (the Perez Prado version). Unfortunately, I don’t remember any of the other songs on the album, but since it was a compilation, the other music would have been from the same era or genre. Given that, it could have been a compilation album of 1950s music or instrumental songs from that decade.
Does anybody remember this commercial/album? I saw the commercials in the US around 1994-1995. Thanks in advance!

2023.06.04 22:06 martinontheline Failed my first OSCP EXAM attempt, but it wasn't too bad! - learn on my mistakes
Hello everyone, I just failed my first OSCP EXAM attempt and just wanted to share the experience with you and point out my mistakes so you can learn from them (and me too lol :))
Before OSCP I Completed all offsec lab machines and done about 20 HTB boxes (ippsec OSCP/AD playlist, completed about 20 boxes from PG grounds TJ_NULL list and also completed OSCP THM path and the buffer overflow room + some other boxes on tryhackme.
I scheduled my exam on Friday at 2 PM (now I know it was a mistake :) ) and I managed to PWN 2 standalone boxes (I guess that would be around 40 points). It took me 18 hours (it's crazy there was so many rabbits holes I wasted my time on as the machines were pretty tight and it was just a small thing I missed at the beginning that made me waste hours) Anyway I took some small breaks about 6pm and 8pm to eat and shower, then it went a bit easier with clear mind so I finished both machines about 8 am (I didn't sleep, I thought I can just crack OSCP in 24hours as I used to work night shifts in the past and spending long hours in front of the monitor is something I really got used to). However about 9 am unfortunately my body and mind got really tired, and I lost motivation to continue on the AD set I was just really feeling like going to sleep and doing a second attempt soon ( I guess it happened because I took my first OSCP attempt as a "training round" subconsciously and I was kinda prepared to fail it after reading a lot of articles where people were saying that It takes a lot of practice and attempts to pass that exam, however after I pwned 2 standalone boxes I was feeling like I would have passed it if I planned the day better, especially because I spent last 2 weeks doing a lot of AD boxes and felt really comfortable about i.
The mistakes that I've done are: - I haven't prepared any healthy food for the day (ordered delivery at about 6 pm and only had some snacks later, during the night I was really hungry as I didn't prepare any food and it made me really deconcentrated
- Didn't sleep enough the night before the exam (only about 6 hours, next time I'm gonna have good sleep for about 8-10 hours before the exam day) and schedule the exam for 9-10 am ( I know I would be able to do 9 to 9 or 10 to 10 OSCP 24 hours run :) )
- Didn't acknowledge mentally that I'm ready to pass the exam, but took it as a training session - which in fact still can benefit me as I made a lot of notes which could be useful. I also learned what areas I should improve before starting again.
So basically I'm going for a week's holiday with my gf to Spain now and I'm planning to try OSCP after I come back so my body will be well-rested and I will be mentally prepared for the next round.
MY QUESTIONS:
I wanted to ask you what the best way to improve privilege escalation on Linux (I feel like I was struggling on this, I got reverse shell in 1 hour however PE made me stuck for another 10 hours + I went through LinPEAS/suggesters all lines output and everything selectively however I still couldn't see what should I do ( I had no write permission to any file, no sudo access and also wasted a lot of time trying exploits and compiling them on different VMs (GCC WASNT INSTALLED ON TARGET) only to realise that I missed little small thing at the beginning. Also, what do you do when there is no GCC on the victim machine? Does this usually mean that kernel exploits are not the way and it's a rabbit hole? Let me know your opinion. Name the best boxes on PG/HTB if you got recommendations, please.
How do you improve your SQL injection skills? I feel like I faced a lot of static HTML pages, and weird pages without .php or any other backend extensions, but they happened to have web forms that probably could have been exploited somehow but I couldn't find any attack vectors on them, and in the end, made me confused if they were just rabbit holes.
Do you recommend any short-paid courses to improve burp/web penetration testing?
Is there any good app to make a map of your whole operation? ( I use mainly CherryTree for taking notes it's brilliant but sometimes I would like to put the notes/screenshots from CherryTree on a wide map - type of board space.
I hope I didn't spoil anything about the Offsec Exam itself! Thank you everyone for your feedback and answers!
P.S SORRy for bad structure - freestyling this article on the go as I got limited time!
Thank you! M

2023.06.04 20:54 fingerstothebone OE and ADHD - sharing tips
I recently realized that I have developed a few helpful habits that not only help my ADHD, but also helps my OE life. I thought I would put a few here for others:
- Be a little bit of cheerleader and work less. When you OE it is so critical that you remain under the radar and off people’s thoughts. I highly recommend “Corporate Confidential” as a great book I wish I had read before I started working, and “How to win friends and influence people” (updated version). Find your “gatekeeper” to how to company thinks of you (covered in CC), figure out which company language and values to parrot (in CC). Use the lessons in HTWFAIP and work that person. Use dark psychology and manipulation to subtly make people really FEEL that you are 💯a “company man” and you can work so much less. Your work productivity and quality matters a LOT LESS when you have played the office politics.
- Record everything. Ask to record every meeting, so that you can “be focused on the meeting and not on taking notes” use the transcript feature where you can, and where you cannot use tools to do audio recognition to provide one. Not only does this help you review things later when you might have not been totally focused, but replaying the meeting video is a great way to keep your laptop showing as available without a mouse wiggle. You can always say you took handwritten notes in Rocketbook and to help you remember better and then convert it to text if ever challenged. Literally no one has ever asked me though.
- Immediately summarize action items. After a meeting where you are asked to do something, write in the meeting chat what those action items are and if any of these should be “urgent”. Acts as a “todo” list you can then put into your calendar. If you missed something then someone will edit/reply
- Time management techniques. I know this is a repeat of what a lot of other people have said, but Pomodoro technique.
- Use all your senses to “switch modes” between jobs. My backgrounds look totally different. Dark mode on one, blue theme on the other. I created playlists with VERY different music (techno for J1, lofi for J2) that I switch between. I drink ice water when working J1, flavored seltzer on J2. I personally think these tricks help my brain compartmentalize information from each job and move back and forth with less time to acclimate.
- Use your calendar as a “todo” list. Block 30 min / hour blocks where you literally list action items to accomplish. Within this hour, use the Pomodoro method and the Scotty method. (Meaning always triple the time you think it will take, so you have extra time built in. This allows me to “stack” two tasks for different jobs in an hour and still have a break in between to readjust my focus. J1 task for 25 min break for 10, J2 task for 25 min. Calendar for J1 blocks the entire hour for task same with J2)
- Focus on the goal and how this is getting you there. Get Hours Tracker Pay Calculator app from Cribasoft or similar app. This app helps me stay focused on why I OE. Even if you are salary, it really is satisfying to see every hour, every day, racking up money. You can select multiple jobs and put in how much per hour each job pays. For me, even maximizing overlap, I’m working more than 8 hours a day. At the end of the day, at the end of the week, I can look at how much I made. I can look at the full accumulation of both jobs or just one. It really helps me - after a particularly exhausting week I was debating if J2 was worth it. I pulled up how much I made that week… yeah, ok I put in some 12 hour days, but look how much closer I am to a down payment. Ok, feeling ready for the next week.
- Use CherryTree or OneNote and come up with a similar structure for each job. I like the top tabs to be Who, What, When and Why and then get sub pages under them. “Who”being notes about people and departments, which I find more important when juggling Js. “What” are projects, tools, etc. “When” are key deadlines. And “Why” - this is critical… these are the key phrases, value statements, things people (especially leadership) say that you want to repeat so you appear to be drinking the kool-aid. The more you appear to be fully into the culture the less anyone is going to ever think you are OE (see my first tip)
- Surround your office with reminders what your goal with OE is. Make a damn vision board if you have to. Sometimes when you’re really frustrated, taking a minute to stare at it and day dream is critical.
- anytime it is remotely possible, take a meeting call on a walk or at least stand up for 5 min during the meeting and stretch
Hope this helps! I’d love to hear everyone else’s tricks!

2023.06.04 20:50 squirreltalk Feedback on four-day itinerary in Tokyo?
I did a little research on trip advisor and google, and asked Chat-GPT to make an itinerary based on the following prompt.
Generate a day-by-day itinerary for a 4 day tour of Tokyo, Japan. We will be visiting in January (winter).
We are most interested in experiencing arts and culture, theater, museums, parks and gardens, monuments (eg temples and shrines and other old buildings), and good architecture and urbanism. We are less interested in sumo, shopping, alcohol, and nightlife. We are pescatarian, and love ramen, sushi, and poke.
The itinerary should ideally include Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Ueno Park.
It spat out the following, which looks okay to my naive eyes, but of course I know that Chat-GPT will give nonsense some times!
Is it (a) doable, and (b) does it optimally satisfy the constraints I mentioned in the prompt? Thank you for any feedback!
Day 1:
- Morning:
- Arrive in Tokyo and check into your hotel.
- Start your day with a visit to the Meiji Jingu Shrine. Explore the serene surroundings and learn about the history and traditions of Shintoism.
- Afternoon:
- Head to the nearby Harajuku neighborhood and explore Takeshita Street, known for its vibrant fashion and unique shops.
- Enjoy a vegetarian or pescatarian lunch at one of the many restaurants in the area.
- Visit the Nezu Museum, which houses a remarkable collection of traditional and contemporary Japanese art.
- Evening:
- Explore the lively Shinjuku district, known for its stunning architecture and vibrant atmosphere.
- Enjoy dinner at a vegetarian or pescatarian-friendly restaurant in the area.
Day 2:
- Morning:
- Start your day with a visit to Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Explore the ancient temple grounds and Nakamise Shopping Street.
- Afternoon:
- Have lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant near Senso-ji Temple.
- Visit the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno Park, one of Japan's oldest and largest museums, showcasing a wide range of art and artifacts.
- Evening:
- Take a stroll through Ueno Park, known for its beautiful gardens and picturesque scenery.
- Enjoy dinner at a ramen restaurant known for its delicious vegetarian or pescatarian options.
Day 3:

2023.06.04 20:41 __elu__ Need some advice how to handle neglected pines (in this case pinus mugo)
| Hey people, here you see a pinus mugo I bought from someone who can't handle his trees anymore and kinda wants to give up on bonsai. Really nice guy just got too old and has muuuuch too many trees. I was thankful for the trees and he that someone bought them who can handle them I have almost 20 years experience but kinda 0 with pines. I have one, but that one is already setup and only needs pruning (and to be honest it always felt like I don't really know what I'm doing). Means I've never had a pine in that condition. I've read so many articles, forums, watched videos of presentations and workshops.. and I've realised that there's plenty of different opinions on how to do this or that which results to this and that. I wanted to jump into cold water with that bought pine but as there are so many different opinions that differ so much that I'm confused now. As you see in the first picture he kinda let it grow (last year I suppose). My plan starts with that I even out the strength between top and bottom. Also I want it to backbud so the branches start to spread out earlier. There kinda are buds at the back of the old shoots but I'm afraid to cut right above them (as I've heard in a workshop that can kill the branch completely). This would be kinda easy as all these old shoots kinda have little buds if not starting shoots in their lower area. But I'm insecure as I've heard otherwise some times now and also because I've no experience with pines. So how would you start working at that pine? First picture: complete overview. You see that there is a lot of power at the top and less power at the bottom.. pretty typical for a tree huh? That it needs to be evened out is not the question, I'm aware of that. But how would you cut the strong shoots at the top (picture 2) or these with blossoms (picture 3) and as an extreme opposite the ones right at the bottom (picture 4) meaning the weakest - these at the bottom don't have any buds developed at all further back. How would you cut (and apply fertilizer or not) that this pine has a guaranteed backbudding until autumn and gets it's strength evened out a bit more. Do I additionally need to pick needles? (In my opinion I don't if I cut these old shoots back as I won't have thaat many needles left anyways and the pine needs at least these to survive healthily) I already have a picture in my head how that tree should look like in the future, that's not a problem at all for me. I don't need help with the overall shape and such. Just where to cut. These kind of states are never ever spoken of in any articles or videos.. that's my problem. They all speak about pruning and working with established trees.. or when we start in spring.. or when we are already at it some years.. not what to do if you want to go back one or two years because you see that it wasnt developed as it could have last years. I don't want to kill branches I don't need to kill, that's why I would love an opinion from someone who hugs pines a bit longer then me :) submitted by __elu__ to Bonsai [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 19:55 WheresMyMug Dumb question - after 1.20, does my existing single player get updated biomes/blocks in areas I've already explored?
I started playing after 1.19 came out. I have a single player world where I've mapped a bunch, flown around a lot with elytra, etc. Would any area that I've already mapped or flown over be transitioned to a cherry blossom biome? Or would the desert temples/wells I've already explored suddenly get suspicious sand around them? Or would these things only show up in spots far away that I haven't reached yet?

2023.06.04 19:53 UglyTot Am I capable of getting under the stone ground blocking caves in these areas?
I'm fairly early into the game currently. So far, I've thoroughly explored Central Hyrule and am finishing up the Ridgelands. After that, I'll dive deep into the wherever the rito questline takes me. My extent of main content is 3 memories, the quest to investigate the 4 areas, going into the underground for the first time, talking to the rito and having to chat with a dude in a cabin.
So far, I've run into two instances of this stone thing. In the Ridgelands, in the center of the mushroom swamp area, there was the platform that had a stone covering the entrance to what I assumed was some kind of cave or dungeon. It appeared to be unbreakable and unmoveable, so I moved on. I just killed the dragon on the mountain by the ancient columns and found the same kind of stone potentially blocking a cave. I moved on again, assuming there was nothing I could do yet, if at all. I just found a cherry blossom tree close by, and the lord of the mountain confirmed there's some sort of cave under there.
What I want to know is if it's possible to get there right now. Do I have to progress the story, or could I potentially find a way in if I look hard enough? I'd hate to let that dragon respawn and have to fight him again if I have the ability to get in right now. Please spoil as little as possible! Thank you.

2023.06.04 19:40 fenil-lost feedback of this short passage/story
Dear friend,
Being the man I am today, looking back it seems a lot of things went by quickly and what left is hopeless dreams they were never mine.
I was named after the main character of the classic novel "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer " by Mark Twain . It was my father's favorite book and Tom was his ideal boyhood and so he named me Tom so I could live the crazy childhood that he could not.
But it was just another fiction dream like others, father thought it was all impractical and in between that childhood grew out of me and soon I was to be the men. To be fair I had an amazing childhood except I never enjoyed the act of obeying.
The act of obeying by being this silent kid with perfectly combed hair and nice clothes and with a rather respectful smile while they shove their prejudice way of being and I kept smiling so they would let me be sane.
In my adolescence the world was like an abyss of asylums and as Friedrich Nietzsche said “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.”
And then comes the act of falling in love, having read too much of the Romantics it was all extravagant to think about the idea of falling in love.
I read this essay from a french author he said that the phrase 'Falling in love' itself itself justifies that something of you, a part of you has to fall to be in love. There is no rising in love as such, its all about falling and when I talk about falling its not loss or some degradation of love, its a quality of just becoming less self preservative.
And with love comes waiting, waiting for whom the reader may ask? no one in particular , with love comes waiting is the rule and when I keep saying the word 'Love', I don't mean just the love between a men and women. It is rather about absence of corruption and hatred, its more about presence of innocence. But I think like others I am just trying to be a little different with words so I could appear noble.
And about work, I never had any particular interest in anything at all, I lacked competence. It's more like what J krishnamurti said " You see sir you will be doing a job, sitting in an office for the next 50 years of life, so much misery, I feel like weeping for you but weeping for you is no good, you understand sir?".
Looking back all this time has passed and all I did was act, a portrayal to please other or to obey, to be part of this insane society.
That all this time has passed away, it all seemed like a drama where I was the main character but I never moved, I just stood there waiting for something to happen. Waiting that someone will come along and they'll tell me "This is it".
And as the drama is about to be over now and there is no revival. Its rather unpleasant to not notice beauty where it's due.
I have missed it, all of it, I think everyone does, very few would would get it I guess. What do I know anyway? What do they know anyway?
I am too old to dream anymore, 80 years is along time but seemed too less as I am running out of time. All I have is hope that is left, but I rather like to not have it. Hope is for tomorrow and there is no tomorrow. I have always hoped good things for all my whole life and so I never truly lived at all, I just kept hoping and kept feeding lies to the self.
What is needed is not hope but rather something radical, something that is alive. And this is why I am writing this letter for you. Don't be fooled that this life will last long enough to be redeemed, that a miniscule of second can end the believed eternity, So all I want is all of you to be well, to live without any sense of prejudice, to look at everything with awe and to sing your own song in the abyss of the same old melodies.
I think its my time to put the pen down, I wish I would have more to say but there is really no one to show you the light. You have to be a light to yourself.
It seems that it is all for me, I am glad that I got to see the cherry blossoms this spring and the damn summer is coming, Alas I won't have to face it.
