2023.06.04 23:55 effective_frame PC working for 3 years, suddenly would not turn OFF, now will not turn on. Paperclip test and jumping mobo power elicit only a click from the PSU
So the PC I built in January 2020 has been working for 3+ years, no major problems really. Yesterday I came back to the PC in sleep mode, as usual, screen off. Front power light on, fans spinning low, as usual. When I went to wake it up, there was no display coming through. This has happened once in a great while so wasn't worried, but when I held the front power button down, the PC would not turn OFF. I turned it off via rocker switch, but it would then not start again. Only a faint click from the PSU but no fans, nothing.
Took it apart, everything looks superficially the same (no damage, no loose cables, no burns, nothing fell in or spilled, etc). I did the paperclip test on the 24 pin cable of the PSU both without components plugged in and with. When the PSU is alone, it clicks, and the fan spins (twitches) only when the paperclip is removed. When the components are plugged in, the GPU fans go full blast for as long as the paperclip is there.
Jumping the front panel connectors with the paperclip gave me same results as the button that is usually connected (click from PSU).
I also tried removing each RAM stick and independently trying them in each slot, no luck there. Lastly, removed all parts and just built it open-air in case it could have been a case part shorting things. No luck
Next move is probably order a (returnable) new PSU and / or new mobo, pending advice here.
And yeah I know the paperclip test isn't very precise or anything, but I don't own a multimeter unfortunately so it's kind of the best I can do.

New fan here. I've known about them for decades but seeing them last summer with Umphrey's turned me into a fan. Seeing both summer camp sets last weekend makes me want to see them any chance I can get. When I downloaded SKY, my graphics became insanely better, even in VR for a little bit. As the title suggests I’m new to street fighter. I played 5 for a bit on my own/online and with friends but kinda had the same issue there. I can get the inputs down (playing on classic) no problem but i just don’t know what to use / what to do during a match. Like what is my game plan…
I feel like everyone i’ve played against is either always quicker than me or just surprises me with grabs. Even when i feel like i got a couple of good hits in i look at the HP bars. I’m nearly dead while they are over half HP left.

Your character is a well known musician/sports playemovie stasome sort of celebrity. Lately he has been all over the media and not for the right reason. He’s been out partying, getting caught doing drugs, with a new woman every night, and / or getting into fights. The press has been laying into him with each new circumstance and it’s starting to affect his career, badly. And what’s the best way to make everyone think he’s not a huge playboy? Get a serious girlfriend that makes it look like he’s calmed down just for her. She’s the one that keeps him out of trouble.
Bad part is, he doesn’t have that, but he does have money and with an app made for sugar babies he might be able to find the right girl to get his reputation back in line with.

Our characters are both celebrities and needing a boost in publicity somehow. Their managers come together to make them into some super cute power couple. The only issue is that the two of them cannot stand each other when they’re not in front of the cameras or out in public. Even then that’s a hard time for them to get along.

I am in the process of starting my studying of gaining the Level 4 qualification, I have been told to start at RO1 and RO5 due to them having the highest pass mark and easiest modules to learn.
The issue I have is what do you recommend would be the best resources to learn off without blowing my bank account?
Do I purchase the £300 study and assessment module on the CII website, or use Redmill's stuff or Brand.
I feel i'm just getting overwhelmed with how much stuff is out there which is causing me to not want to miss out on anything.
Any advice regarding this as well as the diploma in general would be greatly appreciated too.

So in October of this year, my 3 years No claims bonus runs out due to policy lapse (been nearly 2 years since my last vehicle).
My need for a car would be more of a nice to have, can cope without one. However, after speaking with my previous insurance company, they informed me that there is no way to extend my lapse, thus it is making me consider a car in October.
If I allow it to lapse, would losing 3 years NCB be that detrimental if I was going to get a car next year?

Please don’t rake me over the coals if I called your favorite albums a bust - this is mostly a shitpost but also kinda true
Dookie-Nimrod (1994-1998): Boom. Started with Dookie, came down a bit with Insomniac, and by the end of their Nimrod era they had more or less come down from their first wave of popularity (save for a few hit singles like Good Riddance)
Warning (1999-2003): Bust. Yes, we all know it’s an underrated album or something like that, but it didn’t sell well and the band was getting upstaged by blink-182 at this time. There was a growing view that Green Day’s best days were way past them.
American Idiot-21CB (2004-2010): Massive boom, obviously - multiple hit singles in American Idiot, multi-platinum sales, Grammy awards, sold out stadiums worldwide, Bullet in a Bible, you name it. At this point the band had never been bigger.
21CB was a continuation of the theme of American Idiot, but it didn’t have the same staying power as its predecessor - only 21 Guns and Know Your Enemy crossed over, and neither did to the same degree as any song from American Idiot. By 2011, they were coming down from the massive boom of this era.
Trilogy (2012-2015): Not much to be said here; an absolute bust for the band. Some of this is due to factors like iHeartRadio, but rock and roll in general was struggling in the early 2010s and it didn’t help that the band dropped three albums of mostly filler with some bangers sprinkled in between. No successful singles, poor album sales, and a canceled tour made this a huge bust for the band.
Revolution Radio (2016-2017): While not a boom on the level of American Idiot and Dookie, this was the album that at least re-established Green Day as a band capable of writing good music with decent lyrics. They had a successful tour as well. At the very least, this album did hit #1 in the United States, and had a few hits on rock radio (Still Breathing, Bang Bang), both feats the trilogy failed to do. If Dookie and AI were nuclear bombs then RR is more of a Roman candle, but it’s still a high point in the band’s late career.
Father of All (2020-2021): Massive bust - didn’t chart well, hasn’t sold well, critics weren’t kind to it, and many fans don’t care for it. Like the trilogy this one also can be somewhat blamed on external factors (COVID being the biggest one), but this album was also a step below their best work.
While I actually appreciate the “IDGAF” attitude here, I think almost all of the major criticism that it gets is completely valid. There’s a reason we don’t see any of the songs from this album played live.

The band has definitely shifted into “legacy” status, as evidenced by most of their set lists, but their performances are just as energetic. It will have been about four years since FOAM when #14 is rumored to drop — the same waiting period between Warning and AI and the trilogy and RR.
If past history is anything to go by, we may be due for a classic Green Day record with this next one - they’ve just come off a bust period, now it’s time to hit the peak again. Is it any coincidence that Dookie and AI were both dropped in years ending in 4, and the next one is rumored to drop in 2024?

I’ll try to explain this best I can, freaking out slightly. I have an HP laptop, it’s not very old and otherwise in good condition. I woke up today and I noticed one of the hinges seemed a lot deeper than the other one, but I didn’t assume anything of it. When I opened it, part of the screen was lifted up near the hinge, and a screw fell out. The screen appears to be getting pushed out by the insides…? I still have the screw that fell out, I’m keeping the screen open until I can figure out what to do. I tried pushing it back in place and nothing really happened, and I don’t want to screw with it too much more. The computer itself is still usable as far as I can tell, but like I said I’m trying not to use it that much. Any help appreciated, thank you

There are a number of ways to control psychic input. When I am at a family, function, at work, in a social climate, or even back when I was in school, I had to shut down.
I did not learn psychic protection until I was in my thirties. Even then, my spirit team did the work for me and I generated shields in psychic situations without knowing what they were, prior to that time. I knew I shut down. I did not know how. i also knew that black salt and certain crystals discouraged spirit interference and I carried some of these stones around for several years, black tourmaline, snowflake obsidian, and etc.
So now, I will offer a few visualizations to use to help shut down when interacting with spirit is unwanted and/or inconvenient.
The most effective way is to shield, and make those shields six feet in diameter, at least. But, there are other ways to cut off input for awhile.
Each of these takes practice and each person might wish to experiment to find what works best for them.
Imagine a door in the crown of your head, shutting it and locking it is one way. You can make it a keyless door. Open it when you are ready to interact or to allow contact.
Visualize a helmet of sorts. Put on your helmet and fill it with white light or whichever color you see, and push spirit away.
Create a suit of white light armor and wear it. Since armor is heavy, make it weightless.
Then, ground, shield and center every day, for as many months as it takes to make it habit.

I have only helped clients buy and sell homes so far but I have a couple past clients who want me to be their property manager for homes that they own and want to lease out. I saw online that the only necessary licensing is the license that I already have, my real estate license.
What low-cost software would you recommend to begin doing property management?
So far I’ll only be covering two units. One is a single-family home and the other is a condo.
