2023.06.04 22:48 Plastic-Reserve7315 Early predictions for Diablo 4 (they aren't good)
Diablo 4 is gonna sell extremely well, but die off very fast.
The main issue I'm seeing with diablo 4 right now is level scaling, hands down. I don't know what in the ever living fuck the devs up there were thinking when they decided to go this route but it ruins the experience of playing a diablo game significantly.
This is something I have seen Rhyker talk about with his early review of the game and other youtubers as well. they all lightly touch on the level scaling but they are clearly holding back probably because they want a free seat at next years blizcon and all the perks that come with being a shill to them. You can be negative just not fully transparent, you know. Cause if you're too negative blizzard will arbitrarily leave you out in the cold in the future as a youtuber so I'm sure this is WHY they mention it, but downplay it at the same time.
Diablo 4 is 100% level scaling. No sense of progression. No reward for progression. When it comes to multiplayer, it doesn't matter if your playing next to a guy who level 60 he kills enemies as fast as you do. There's no out leveling an area and being able to storm thru it like a god, helping lower levels get quests done and level up themselves. Nope none of that. For a always online game the multiplayer means fuck all with level scaling. I just remember the days when diablo was good, days where level 82 sorcs and pallys would carry noobs thru the fucking game. We loved to do it. Showing off our top gear characters and carving paths thru enemies. Cant do that anymore. Its a struggle the entire time. There's no reason to progress. You can stay in the same area and just farm until the end game if you want to. ,you getting your ass kicked at this place? Wanna go back and level up a few times and get stronger so you an more easily take this other area on? NOPE. A quest says you need to be level 15 to do it, you level up to 18 and it simply scales the difficulty up to your level there is NO POINT to building a character in a game all about building a character LOL. A swing and a miss. When the majority of people get their hands on this, within a few hours its gonna really dawn on them that this aint is partner lololol. But by then your moneys gonna be gone, and blizzard will be like, what do ya mean its bad? Look at how well it sold.
I cant say im surprised. tbh

2023.06.04 19:32 RevolutionRevivalist [5e] [Online] [18+] Bi-Weekly Homebrew Game Wednesdays 11am BST (3-4 hours) ALL welcome
Work nights? Never have weekends off? Or maybe you're just in a timezone nobody ever posts about? Hello, I'm a 28 years old English player, a DM of 3 years and wish to run a game around my super inconvenient work schedule!
I have a homebrew world and a couple of campaign ideas I'd be happy to run, although open to just going sandbox and working with your backstories for quest ideas. Will pitch these in session 0 and let the players decide, although whichever route we go I'd be hoping we're in it for the long haul
I will summarise the game style as to help decide if this is the game for you;
- I like hard combats, most individual combats or prolonged encounters will come with risk of death, the stakes are high, and teamwork will be needed to avoid casualties
- Players exploring lore, RP and their own/ each others backstories is both encouraged and rewarded. Backstory will be the main meat and bones of anything I run and players who stay true to their character and backstory will see the rewards of this in game. I may suggest edits to fit the lore of the world for example God's and locations, but will do my best to leave you with 100% agency
-I'm pretty laid back as a DM, if you can justify something to me reasonably then I will most likely allow it
-Game will be run in foundry which requires a PC slightly better than a potato but is not too demanding. If you're worried about this then let me know if you want to try it out before session zero preferably and we will see if you can run it. Will also use DND beyond with ALL sourcebooks for character building to make life easy, especially useful for new players. Discord for voice chat
-Transparency is key. Game/ group just not for you 3 sessions in? Tell me, I won't judge. Can't make a session? That's life, just keep me updated. Something you're not happy with in game that you would like me to address? Let me know and I'll do my best to accomdate/ resolve.
- I can be a bit sweary and don't mind if players are, but with this in mind please ensure you treat each other with respect. Racism, sexism or any kind of bigotry not tolerated, it's not hard to be nice
-Sign your post off with the name of your favourite DND character from your past so I know you have read this! (Or just a random name if you've never played) This is essential. Will not be accepting players who do not follow this instruction
-Starting at level 3, 5 player party but will run with 3-4 if necessary, milestone levelling, there is no banned material in character building, official content only (with addition of bloodhunter)
To apply just make a short post here telling me whatever you think is relevant. Will message everybody in the next few days depending on demand, and can hopefully start with session 0 Wednesday 14th if we have no hiccups
Thanks for reading!

2023.06.04 19:08 AlternativeWay85 Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3. The comedy and expression of human-like emotions from the superheroes in recent MCU movies is good to see?
If you'd like to see more of my take on the Guardians 3 movie please check out this video podcast that I co-host (also available on all major podcasts):
Movie Review – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 #filmmakersreview
https://youtu.be/bx0MGRDTub0 I have noticed in recent MCU moves this year from Ant Man: Quantumania to Spiderman: Across The Spiderverse that the superheroes are appearing more human-like. Specifically with there social interactions. To me they have more of a real person feel who try to relate to humans instead of the almighty righteousness who had no time to carry a conversion because the fate of the universe was at stake.
Guardians 3:
What would we do without the Guardians of the Galaxy!?And what would the Galaxy be like without them? With that being said this movie is a good reminder and gave me an overall feel of how small Earth really is to us and I would imagine that astrophysicists are well aware of the fact that everything is just simply relative. Even the tallest building could appear small if you are looking at it from far enough away. Basically, I am just saying that I am thankful for the Guardians movies.
The comic humor is quite refreshing. The line of dialogue from the film ‘… Does this look cool?..) was said several times throughout the film.
Cast
Chris Pratt – Peter Quill
Zoe Saldana – Gamora (Unsure, lower-key villain) for the most part it seems like she is trying to still come off as a good individual even though she is a major villain. lol
Karen Gillan – Nebula (Sharp and witty)
Dave Bautista – (Meathead) Funny character with charisma and dumb-witted comedic relief. Entertaining on screen.
Comparable Movies:
Puss In Boots: Last Wish Perrito is similar to Rocket (Raccon in the sense of character development and what the characters in the movie had to go through and endure throughout the film. Their journey.). Ant Man: Quantumania (with heroes having humanlike characteristics and feelings. Showing off more of their emotions throughout movie).
Side Note: Rocket (Raccoon) being tested on and the abusive power, control hungry villain (The High Evolutionary) animal tester from the future keeps trying to create what they he calls perfection.
My Take
The main characters seem to display a bit more visible emotions. Almost humanlike. Even the gold villain (Warlock) said that he didn’t like an emotion feeling that he was having while empathizing with another actor. They are more about discovering and meeting their basic needs and some of what life and living is actually all about.
In general, I have noticed that the dialogue that has been present in recent theatrical release movies has been much more direct and not as transparent as in the past, meaning that instead of hinting at what they are trying to say the message is being said in very creative and quite often funny ways.
Again, is in several recent theatrical films the camera moves quite a bit especially during action scenes from the start of the movie.

2023.06.04 17:50 godpleasehelpme77 part 2 of ai roblox games
come up with a 13+ roblox game called "Old Fashion MURDER" and it would also be filled with humor
6/4/2023, 10:10:35 AM
Sure, I can help you with that! Here's a brief overview of what the game "Old Fashion MURDER" could look like:
The premise of the game is that players are transported back in time to a murder mystery party set in the 1920s. Each player takes on the role of a unique character, such as a wealthy heiress, a bumbling detective, or a grizzled mobster.
The game would be played in rounds, with a certain number of players randomly selected at the beginning of each round to play the part of the murderer. The rest of the players must work together to solve the mystery and identify the killer before they strike again.
Throughout the game, there would be plenty of opportunities for humor and lighthearted fun. For example, players could collect silly hats and accessories to wear during the party, or stumble upon hidden rooms filled with goofy gags and pranks.
To add to the comedic elements, players could also have access to various gadgets and tools that could aid them in their investigations. These might include things like oversized magnifying glasses, comically large keys, or even a monocle that provides ridiculous commentary on the events of the game.
Overall, "Old Fashion MURDER" would be a great way to combine the excitement of a murder mystery with the humor and charm of a classic comedy.

6/4/2023, 10:13:26 AM
so what i was going for is there are 5 chapters and the 1st chapter basically introduces the players to what is going on and the main characters: norman and allissa. they are both cube-like things that evolve into major friends and helpers for the players. every other character is also a cube. also norman would die in the 4th chapter... yep...
6/4/2023, 10:13:39 AM
I see, sounds like an interesting concept for a story or game. So the first chapter serves as an introduction to the world and characters, with Norman and Allissa being the primary focus. As cube-like beings, they evolve throughout the story and become important allies for the players.
It's also intriguing that all the characters in this world are cubes, which could make for some unique visual designs and gameplay mechanics.
And it seems that Norman's eventual death in the fourth chapter will be a significant turning point in the story, leading to new challenges for the players and potentially affecting their relationships with other characters.
Overall, it sounds like you have a solid foundation for a narrative-driven game or story, with interesting characters and a unique setting.
📷
6/4/2023, 10:15:08 AM
i feel like it would be funny if the first chase monster is incredibly slow and the allissa and norman just did a very sarcastic scream and just slowly walked away.
6/4/2023, 10:15:19 AM
That could definitely add some humor to the story! Having a slow chase monster that the characters can easily outrun would create a comedic moment, especially if Norman and Allissa react in a sarcastic manner as you suggested.
It could also serve as a way to introduce the player to the game mechanics without immediately overwhelming them with high-stakes challenges. By starting with a slower and less intimidating monster, players can learn how to navigate the game world and control their characters before facing more difficult obstacles later on.
Overall, incorporating humor into the game can be a great way to keep players engaged and create a memorable experience.
📷
6/4/2023, 10:17:57 AM
at the 2nd chapter is where it's actually hard, incorparating the first actually serious chase scene. the players have to run away from a giant... thing. it's a large and slimey void colored thing that has the classic "no eyebrowed frowning heads on the horror game creature"
6/4/2023, 10:18:11 AM
Ah, I see. So the second chapter will step up the difficulty and add some tension to the game with a serious chase scene involving a giant, ominous creature.
The void-colored, slimy creature you described sounds like it could be quite intimidating, especially with the "no eyebrowed frowning head" design characteristic of many horror game monsters. This could create a sense of dread and fear in players as they try to outrun the creature and avoid being caught.
Introducing this type of challenge in the second chapter is a good way to ramp up the difficulty and keep players engaged, while also building on the established mechanics and world introduced in the first chapter.
Overall, it sounds like you have a solid structure in place for your game, with a good balance between humorous and serious moments to keep players engaged and interested.
📷
6/4/2023, 10:20:38 AM
also at the end oof the chase scene norman just ragdolls the thing with that one heavy kill taunt from TF2
6/4/2023, 10:20:50 AM
Haha, that could definitely be a funny and surprising moment for players! Having Norman suddenly take down the giant creature with a heavy kill taunt from TF2 would add a comedic element to what was previously a tense and challenging chase sequence.
It's always good to balance out serious moments with humorous ones in a game or story, as it keeps the experience varied and prevents it from becoming too overwhelming or monotonous. Incorporating unexpected elements like this can also help keep players engaged and interested in the game world and characters.
Overall, it sounds like you have a good sense of how to create a compelling narrative-driven game with a mix of humor and tension!
📷
6/4/2023, 10:30:19 AM
the 3rd chapter is one that finally introduces enemy combat and boss combat. the players get a weapon with they have for the rest of the game. The boss is the painter, which is the only boss that can talk and that has emotions. He moves in stop motion and he paints in enemies. Speaking of that, the combat is with enemies if it wasn't obvious.
6/4/2023, 10:30:24 AM
That sounds like an interesting chapter for a game! Can you tell me more about the gameplay mechanics for the combat with enemies and the boss? And what kind of weapon do the players receive?
📷
6/4/2023, 10:31:50 AM
the players get a sword. it's basically roblox combat because it's a roblox game. also because it's a horror game
6/4/2023, 10:31:55 AM
I see! So it's a sword-based combat system, similar to what you might find in other RPG or adventure games. Do the enemies have any unique abilities or weaknesses that players need to exploit in order to defeat them? And how does the boss fight with the painter work?
📷
6/4/2023, 10:32:06 AM
nah they just attack the player
6/4/2023, 10:32:11 AM
I see. So the enemies are pretty straightforward in their mechanics, then. And how does the boss fight with the painter work? Does the player need to use any special strategies or techniques to defeat him?
📷
6/4/2023, 10:33:10 AM
nah he just has 1000 health. normal enemies have 50 and the sword deals 30 damage
6/4/2023, 10:33:15 AM
I see. So the boss fight is more of a battle of attrition, where the player needs to whittle down the painter's health over time. Do you have any plans for other bosses or enemy types later in the game?
📷
6/4/2023, 10:34:33 AM
nah. onto the 4th chapter, (where norman dies) basically at the start of the chapter norman dies but not allissa, norman just pressed esc+r+enter. the chapter doesn't have a boss but does have a lot of puzzles and enemy combat
6/4/2023, 10:34:40 AM
I see, that's an interesting twist. So the player character Norman dies in a strange way, but the other character Allissa is still alive. What kind of puzzles can players expect to encounter in Chapter 4? And are there any new enemy types or mechanics introduced here?
📷
6/4/2023, 10:40:03 AM
players can encounter a candle. why a candle? well, it's a reference to that one roblox player, chuck lloyd. why him? well, he makes odd and creepy roblox games and usually invites youtubers to join him in them. when players go to the puzzle, the candle gets lit and when they go away, it is no longer lit. there is a screen where players have to enter, "is that a hint?" why tthat? well, chuck lloyd invited popular roblox youtuber Flamingo to join him. Flamingo was so invested in the story that he said when chuck lloyd lit a candle he said, you guessed it, "i that a hint?"
6/4/2023, 10:40:14 AM
Interesting! It sounds like the candle and the prompt "is that a hint?" are references to Chuck Lloyd, a Roblox player known for creating creepy games and inviting YouTubers to play them. The candle getting lit and then extinguished when players leave the puzzle adds to the eerie atmosphere of the game. And the prompt "is that a hint?" is a nod to Flamingo, a popular Roblox YouTuber who got invested in Chuck Lloyd's story and asked that question when the candle was lit. It's always fun when video games include Easter eggs or nods to pop culture references like this.
📷
6/4/2023, 10:48:08 AM
the 5th chapter is the conclusion to the story where the players finally make it out of the cartoon. It has the players escape all the monsters AND with an escape time limit. It has every soundtrack mixed into one. Instead of being tense, the soundtracks theme makes it feel like more of an accomplishment. It has every mechanic in the game and every monster. How does it end? Well the player breaks the screen of a TV, specifically the one that sucked them i at the start. The textures of the map then glitch, the enemies play different animations, until the players FINALLY get teleported back home after 5 chapters. Credits roll.
6/4/2023, 10:48:21 AM
That sounds like an exciting conclusion to the story! The mix of all the soundtracks and the feeling of accomplishment give a sense of closure and satisfaction for the players. Breaking the screen of the TV that sucked them in at the start is a great way to symbolize their escape from the game world. The glitching textures and different animations add to the surreal atmosphere of the moment. Finally getting teleported back home after 5 chapters is a great way to end the game, leaving the players with a sense of relief and accomplishment. The credits roll is a nice touch, giving credit to everyone involved in creating the game. Overall, it sounds like a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the story.

2023.06.04 17:34 FUMBLING_TITAN VRising Mod ideas for QOL, immersion, PVE, Solo/Multi (For the builders and aesthetic lovers)
Firstly I don't create mods I just use em. But considering the BepInEx needed to be reworked since Gloomrot I'm super excited to see what new mods will be made or how many of the old ones will be updated. I really loved the Modern Camera Mod. I know there is an experimental out but the ceilings are transparent with no toggle (like the old Modern Camera had). Although I never used it I love the idea to be able to remove the hud as well (in the HideUIMod)! These two would make for some great screenshots or video content. If I had a request for a mod it would be able to
1) Free Cam - Press a button/hotkey that allows a free camera mode where you can fly around but keep your character in the same place. It'd make for great videos/screenshots
2) Slow motion/freeze time - again, for video/screenshot purposes
3) Servant stations - A small placeable, the size of a base portal, that you can assign a servant to. This way when that servant is in ur base, they will be assigned to that spot rather than walk around the base. Whilst I like some servants walking around, again for screenshot/video purposes, id love a way to keep the servant in one spot.
4) Servant station emotes - control what animation your servant makes whilst at their station. Salute, stand at attention, dance, wave, blow kisses, etc
I know these are ridiculous ideas but that's the point. What mod idea do you have? What mod would you LOVE to see in V Rising, if there were no boundaries and it could be done?

2023.06.04 16:42 Asbo48 Revised Opening Piece / Please critique. Honest feedback to help improve
The task ahead was simple. Win. Kael had been in this position before. He looked out across the large mechanical arena overflowing with spectators. This was the most anticipated day of the year with people going all out in their attire. Amidst the sea of individuals, Kael discerned men donning top hats and long tailcoats, while women displayed meticulously selected corsets embellished with brass accents. All eyes were fixed on Kael and brimming with expectations of witnessing greatness once more. None held higher expectations than his own father.
Everything Kael had. No. Everything, he and his father had been training for came down to this moment. If they win this point, they win the cup. If they win the cup then he would make it. Playing with the big teams across the realms, being paid like the big teams. His family would be secure, safe. Happy.
He pulled his hair back tying it into a tight knot before adjusting his cloak and pulling the hood up. Tracing his fingertips along the intricate gold trims of his azure-blue uniform he settled into position on his Lumicor at the heart of the arena. In moments like this, Kael found solace in focusing on the flying machine—a remarkable fusion of engineering and imagination. The Lumicor hovered effortlessly in the air. The manmade craft embodying a seamless blend of a majestic bird and a small ship. Its intricate metalwork enhanced by polished wood. Emphasising the glowing crystalline elements that ran along the body to its aerodynamic wings extending gracefully from its sides.
Kael traced his fingers over the engraved words etched into the bronze-metal steering handles. The greatest failure is to fail to be great. His mother always hated that saying, but it became is father’s mantra in training. Memories of his families struggles resurfaced. The financial hardships and how his mother's difficult upbringing made her dependent on Kael’s older brother. His father's laborious servitude to the Seers Council. Focus, Kael! He shook his head trying to ignore his father, and the Seers Council observing the spectacle from a remarkably annoying vantage point—perched in an oval glass flying craft. The Seers Private Box. Utterly distracting and unnecessary. They way it glides around the arena it’s just…Focus!
Usually, it was just his father watching on, comforting, encouraging but today was different. The council members attended the big games in their Private Box. Its transparent walls were crafted from polished glass and provided a panoramic view of the grand arena below. The intricate mechanisms that propelled the craft were visible showing gears interlocking and spinning with mesmerising precision. Too much of a distraction for the players Kael had always thought, but there wasn’t much he could do about that. After all, it was the councilmen who had provided his Lumicors from the beginning. Their presence, however, was intimidating. His father couldn't bear to watch with his hands covering his eyes. Kael shook his head again. Focus!
The cockpits windshield glass was tinted ever so slightly, which was giving the view a golden hue. Usually, the epic atmosphere fuelled him with confidence but today it all felt so different. The enormous arena hung suspended in the air. Its outer structure a detailed spinning cylinder with open ends revealing an endless expanse of sky. The interior walls, adorned with intricate patterns and enchanting murals, were typically grand and regal, but today they appeared overwhelming and needlessly complex. Dominating the arena stood the imposing crystalline obelisk, surrounded by twenty-seven floating crystals, thirteen blue and thirteen red.
“What’s the move, Kael?” Mayer, one of his teammates, called out from atop her own Lumicor, hovering adjacent to him. The machine identical to Kael’s, its birdlike wings a deep blue, perfectly matching the pulsating crystalline nose of the craft. Lines of the same vibrant blue ran down the side of the Lumicor, resembling veins eagerly pumping energy throughout the vessel.
“A five-one manoeuvre, Mayer. It needs to be a head-to-head. It’s the only way.” Was it the only way, he thought. The lack of self-assurance was unsettling to him. Kael took another look across the arena reminding himself of the situation. They’ve Tapped thirteen red crystals and we’ve Tapped thirteen blue crystals. One unlit crystal left. This is it. I just need to Tap that final crystal and we’ve won.
Kael, palms sweating, gripped the controls tightly making way for the centre. From the other side of the arena, Lumicors clad in shimmering red trimmed attire, soared through the air towards the same spot. One unlit crystal remains. This is it. Shifting shape structures hanging in the air tracked menacingly across the arena, transforming from cuboid to pyramid, sphere to oblong. What made a great Skyshard player was learning the pattern of the changing shapes. If you could figure that out you had the advantage.
The final unlit crystal circled around the tip of the obelisk. The shifting shapes orbiting it in a synchronised motion. Kael positioned himself carefully for the perfect shot at the crystal, deftly evading other small, taunting shape-shifting structures. The nose of the Lumicor tapping the crystal turning it blue. The crowd cheering. The team winning. I Kael the hero. My father standing—proud. Kael ran this scenario a hundred times before in his mind. Now it was here about to happen.
“Mayer, five-one now,” he called out, his heart racing faster as his five teammates swiftly moved across the sky, engaging the opposing team and drawing away five of their own players, leaving only one opponent on the opposite side of the obelisk, directly across from Kael.
Refocusing on the large, shape-shifting structure that stood between him and the crystal, Kael repeated the sequence in his mind. Oblong, cuboid, pyramid, sphere, oblong, cuboid...What if I make a mistake? His gaze involuntarily shifted toward his father, who sat with a clenched fist and a bowed head. The suffocating pressure enveloped Kael, his cloak seemed as though it just became a hundred times heavier, like the gold trims had turned solid constricting his every movement.
As the large shape-shifting structure transformed from oblong to cuboid to pyramid to sphere and back again, time appeared to slow, granting Kael a surplus of time to think—perhaps even overthink. What if I make a mistake? What if I miss the chance? The pressure intensified with each passing second, the air in the cockpit felt as though it had been sucked out. Kael was sure the entire arena was holding its breath, the collective gaze of the spectators, players, and his father, fixated on him, waiting for his move.
Kael made his move. Surging the Lumicor forward with a burst of power. The structure between Kael and the final crystal abruptly shifted into a pyramid as expected, but to Kael's dismay, it was not as he had anticipated. Instead of a regular pyramid, it was an inverted one, one of its corners now directly in his path. The pattern, I misread, the pattern. Every third pyramid is inverted! He cursed himself.
Kael's Lumicor crashed headlong into the sharp corner of the inverted pyramid. The impact reverberated through his body with shockwaves of pain radiating from his shoulder. The collision disrupted his balance and he lost control of his ride. He could hear the gasping of the audience as he and his Lumicor tumbled and crashed onto the floating platform below.
Pain lanced through his body as he lay sprawled on the ground. His vision swimming. The weight of his failure heavier than a hundred solid gold cloaks, as tough the arena itself bore down on him. The hushed muttering of the crowd amplifying what had just happened. Kael looked up to his father’s seat but he was nowhere to be seen.

2023.06.04 15:40 qUxUp (OC) I tested the NYXI Wizard controller for a 27 days on Nintendo Switch OLED. I was bloody surprised by the A/B/X/Y buttons. Here's about a 3220 word old-school text review with some photos. Enjoy! :) (there is also a TLDR for those who prefer short posts)
| TLDR: NYXI Wizard is unique due to it's Gamecube controller inspired design and A/B/X/Y button layout. It's ergonomic for medium or large hands. The D-pad could be improved upon. Currently there is no way to turn off the blinding indicator lights, hopefully it's something that will be fixed in a firmware update. The shape, combined with mechanical triggers, mappable back-paddles, turbo and gyro make the NYXI Wizard a versatile primary or secondary controller. Lastly, the NYXI Wizard's conductive adhesive switches used in the A/B/X/Y buttons are just smashing. They are responsive and pressing them feels perfectly weighty. Whether it's GRID, Crysis, Super Smash Bros or something else NYXI Wizard has got you covered (as long as it fits in your hands). Disclaimer: I wrote everything & took the pictures. This post here is the original source. This is my second Nintendo Switch related text review in our community. The previous review was received quite well and people asked if I could do a joy-con comparison and so I asked NYXI if they are interested in providing me with their NYXI Wizard controller with the purpose of writing an exclusive review intended for the /Nintendo, /Switch/ & /NintendoSwitch/ subreddits. They were. My condition was that the review would be a pure oldschool text review with eight photos taken by me. I get to keep the controller. I won't be receiving additional compensation in any form (no commission fees, affiliate marketing or ad-revenue etc). As my Nintendo Switch controller collection grows, I might write more reviews for our Switch-related subreddits. This review is based solely on my experiences with NYXI Wizard and 27 days of testing. Professionally I've been a part of the gaming tech field & tech journalism for about two decades (Europe/Estonia). It's a interesting field, but it can have an affect on how you view or enjoy videogames. On PC my favorite videogames were Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Rainbow6: Siege & DayZ. On Nintendo Switch it's either Mario Kart 8 or Door Kickers: Action Squad. Now comes the "heartbreaking" story. I lost the ability to enjoy PC gaming about five years ago. A few years ago I wanted to buy a Christmas gift for my fiancee. She was getting burnt out at university. The users of /switch and /nintendoswitch were kind enough to answer all sorts of questions I had regarding the Switch console. So I bought her a Nintendo Switch OLED. She loved it (once she got used to the controls) and it helped with the stress. At some point I thought that I'd try one of her switch games with no expectations. Fell in love with the ability to play on a couch and less serious tone many Nintendo games have (GameBoy flashbacks). And here we are, I don't have to "borrow" her switch anymore. I have my own Nintendo Switch and too many games and controllers :) Cheers :) What this review is and is not. The NYXI Wizard will be reviewed as a Nintendo Switch joycon and compared to other Switch joycons that I own. A major portion of the review will be dedicated to real life use scenarios. A limited amount of technical details will be included. This review will not cover every detail about the NYXI Wizard (such as how to change all of the settings, pair, turbo etc). The manual has all that information and can be found online. What's a NYXI Wizard and what do I think about certain marketing? According to some a major selling point of the NYXI Wizard you will never buy another Nintendo Switch controller again and it will never develop joycon drift. We should always be skeptical when it comes to claims that cannot be backed up by any testing or examples. How do you prove the part of "forever"? While I was never sold on the promise of forever, the NYXI Wizard intrigued me enough with its unique button layout. The box & what's in the box? The box for the controller itself is a sturdy blue cardboard box. Inside there is the controller, a small manual, a 127 cm regular plastic charging cable and an extra set of interchangeable joystick rings. Maybe I'm spoiled by past experiences, but I would really have wished to see some sets of interchangable joysticks inside the box (more on these later). https://preview.redd.it/7iz1hfgt304b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=684faf0f651c15a3d6e2a8c58eb368aa1e26ac42 How's the manual? The NYXI Wizard's manual is decently written, but it's one of those rather small manuals. Luckily you can find the manual from NYXI's website https://nyxigaming.com/pages/nyxi-instructions. https://preview.redd.it/8d6sdjuw304b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=107a74eb943fca82b210f2fb1bf17614726a843a Lets talk about the interchangeable joystick rings & potential for modding. The controller comes with round and octagonal rings. Octagonal rings can be helpful in 2D or fighting games for example (Mortal Kombat). The round rings are suitable for all games but octagonal rings have more limited use. It's a nice extra to have, but it is an extra. It can be tricky to change the joystick rings for the first time. Once you replace the rings about five or more times it gets easier. https://preview.redd.it/qn5sdgl0404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=577d0693fae3721188960bd9952988a60b091173 I personally perform better in games with the more modern round joystick rings. Obviously it's a matter of preference here. However I made more errors in movement with octagonal rings. The difference was about 7%, but to me the difference was there. Currently I have round rings installed and I don't see myself switching back to octagonal rings. https://preview.redd.it/dzy0dc23404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a57c5964bea022d14b320891028c3a64d45262ec Note: When it comes to modding the NYXI Wizard the interchangeable joystick rings make it easier to replace the thumbsticks. You can even install original GameCube thumbsticks with some effort. A youtube video explaining the process is titled "I Made The NYXI Wizard Better..." (shoutout to 128KB). Backlit-buttons. The NYXI Wizard has A/B/X/Y buttons that are backlit and it's possible to change their brightness. Even if you turn the background light off, it only has an affect on the A/B/X/Y buttons. There are two indicator lights on top of both joycons and those cannot be turned off. It would have been a nice feature to have where the indicator lights turn off or at the very least are slightly less bright. Note: I reached out to NYXI about the indicator lights. They informed me that while currently there aren't any such plans they might be able to fix this issue in a future firmware update. Lets talk about the A/B/X/Y buttons. In comparison to Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, joycons or Hori Split Pad Pro, the NYXI Wizards buttons feel more responsive. They require a bit more force to push and it's a pleasant feeling. The 8BitDo SN30Pro has similar buttons but still not quite as good. Overall the buttons have a solid feel to them and are on the heavier side when it comes to the amount of pressure you have to apply. Among the Nintendo Switch joycons and controllers the NYXI Wizards A/B/X/Y buttons have a unique place. Note: I reached out to NYXI for more information about the A/B/X/Y buttons. Here's the reply: "The A/B/X/Y buttons on our controller use the conductive adhesive switches. We chose these switches for their durability and responsiveness. As for the force required to press the buttons, we wanted to create a tactile and responsive experience for our users." https://preview.redd.it/0m5xjuy9404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eae6480ac63d917e43f41ef12a223ffecce1cced The layout of A/B/X/Y buttons. One thing is for sure. The button layout of NYXI Wizard is different. My favorite feature of this layout is the massive A button right in the middle. In the games I play often, A button is one of my most commonly used buttons. Because the buttons are largehave a different layout, it also brings a small challenge to re-learn the locations. It took me about 2 or 3 days. If you end up wanting to use the controller but want to make the layout a bit closer to traditional Swtich joycons then there are a few ways to approach this. - Remap the buttons in the game.
- Remap the buttons in Switch.
- Assign one of the A/B/X/Y buttons to the remappable back-paddle.
What about the D-pad? I really like the looks of hard plastic they have used to make the D-pad. But pressing the D-pad really isn't very enjoyable. The edges feel a bit too sharp, so to speak. I'm not a fan of the D-pads position either. The D-pad is the hardest to reach out of all the Switch controllers I own. Note: I think that a potential upgrade here could be to make the D-pad edges just a tiny bit rounder and move it slightly closer to the left stick. Lets talk about joycon drift and thumbsticks. Joycon drift is an issue where the thumbstick starts to give false signals to your console and move your character in a direction that you didn't intend. It happens due to dust getting into joycons or joycon wear. NYXI Wizard has addressed this by using a hall effect joysticks which is a technology that is supposed to never get joycon drift. Setting the technology itself aside, the thumbsticks feel good to use. Their movement is smooth and responsive. The Wizards thumbsticks are similar in size to Hori Splitpad Pro but bigger than the regular Nintendo Switch joycons. A standout of these thumbsticks is the rubbery finish which is very pleasant to hold. It has a nice grip and has a slightly soft feel to it. Out of all the Switch joycons and controllers I own, this is the best thumbstick finish. https://preview.redd.it/tyn167xh604b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a3f75e060397c5dc9e19a38eafea5d65a2eafbf With confidence I can say that NYXI missed an opportunity by not including extra thumbsticks that are taller or shorter. In the end a thumbstick is a rather cheap component but it can add extra value to the gamer. My hope here is that NYXI might release additional thumbsticks of different sizes as optional accessories. The good news is that I got confirmation from NYXI that they plan to release accessories like thumbsticks with various sizes soon. https://preview.redd.it/q1cn2lng404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7f76014cd98e10b2cb00ca4f9050d44e003f96c The triggers. This controller uses mechanical triggers. These are responsive if you compare them to joycons or controllers that use non-mechanical triggers (such as the official Nintendo Switch joycons or the Hori Split Pad pro). It takes very little force to press these triggers which may be beneficial for longer gameplay sessions. The travel distance of the triggers is pleasantly short and the trigger makes an audiable click when its activated. The short travel distance makes it easier to rapidly press the trigger. The Mobapad M6 Gemini has similar triggers. Hori Split Pad Pro, official Nintendo Switch Joycons & Pro Controller have slightly less responsive triggers in comparison. https://preview.redd.it/63xqj92j404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec840a5ecf52f2e34a44eb66b4aea4d308e9ef41 Ergonomics? If your hands are big enough then the Wizard is an ergonomic controller. One of the main advantages of NYXI Wizard is that while holding it, your finger position is different than when holding a Hori Split Pad Pro or the official Nintendo Switch joycon. Using different styles of controllers can be one little thing that you can do to take care of your hands and fingers. I've used it as my main controller for 27 days and am happy with the ergonomics. This means that it's my main joycon for now. At some point I will go back to Mobapad M6 and then something else or return NYXI Wizard. Gyro, mappable back-paddles. Gyro works well, even in FPS games such as Crysis. There are also mappable back-paddles present on the the Nyxi Wizard. The paddles themselves aren't very well placed in my opinion as they are a bit hard to reach, but they have a nice texture on them and a responsive feel. Among other buttons, you are able to map the back-paddles to triggers (which isn't possible on all joycon back-paddles). https://preview.redd.it/e5tuce3n404b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee3c9e2f37263db576d672a16bdfd1a68d6a89b7 The vibration motor. The vibration motor is decent. It isn't HD-rumble, but in a way that's to be expected as the only joycons that have HD-rumble are the official Nintendo Switch joycons. All vibration settings work well, I personally liked playing on low or medium setting. The highest vibration setting was nice when the Switch's volume was louder, otherwise sound of the motor broke gameplay immersion. Bonus content: what may people with smaller hands think of NYXI Wizard? As a new part of the review I asked my fiancee (who has small hands) to test the NYXI Wizard and share her impressions. She was fond of how the triggers felt. The amount of force you had to apply and click of the triggers appealed to her. Another one of her favorite features was the way joysticks were textured. Obviously the yellow one got more praise due to its cute color. NYXI Wizard was wa-a-ay too big for her hands. She pointed out that if she had to play something that requires faster reactions, it would be nearly impossible with this controller. The size of the controller, the distance between buttons is just too great. For games like Picross it was okay, but after some gameplay time the NYXI Wizard made her hands hurt. So what's the verdict here when it comes to the NYXI Wizard if you have smaller hands? Try it before you buy it. It's likely that controller might just be a too big. https://preview.redd.it/apmj5dmk604b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6e78b5bb1168a39b2d94d1fa9b4fcc208cd4e3c Most common questions? Can the NYXI Wizard be used to wake up your Nintendo Switch? Yes it can. Will it fit inside a carry case that's meant for Nintendo Switch OLED + Hori Split Pad Pro/Mobapad M6 Gemini? No it won't. NYXI offers a case for the Wizard on their website. Can it be used as a controller? Yes it can. Final thoughts. The NYXI Wizard is a Gamecube inspired joycon/controller that is executed well with room for some improvement. The asking price of $69.99 seems to be fitting. It doesn't have a direct controller to compare to due to the unique features such as the layout and interesting A/B/X/Y buttons. In my opinion the A/B/X/Y buttons are among one of the best features of the Wizard. Yes, these four buttons aren't mechanical but they have a very pleasant resistance and travel distance. The price is worth it to those who like the size & layout of the controller and value features such as mechanical buttons, triggers & unique A/B/X/Y buttons. Will a gamer benefit from the features that come with the pricetag? Yes, we will (most of them). Will a newecasual gamer benefit from the features? Yes, some of the features (like the mechanical buttons and different layout with good ergonomics). And here is a comparison table. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best). I did my best to rate various features of the Switch joycons that I own. Keep in mind that such comparisons are subjective and ratings might vary from person to person (mostly depending on shape & size of your hands). All of these are rated as joycons and are not rated as a controller. The price is for the regular model of any controller and is based on the official pricing I found/received. This does not include sales or limited edition color schemes that may cost more. Model | Nintendo Joycons | Mobapad M6 Gemini | Hori Split Pad Pro | NYXI Wizard | D-Pad | 3 | 4 | 4 | 3.5 | Thumbsticks | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4.5 | Triggers | 3 | 4 | 3.5 | 4.5 | Buttons | 3 | 4.5 | 4 | 4.5 | Build | 5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Ergonomics | 3 | 5 | 5 | 4.5 | Features | 3.5 | 3.5 | 3 | 4 | Included accessories | 4 | 3.5 | 3 | 4.5 | Vibration | 4 | 3 | - | 4.5 | Price | $79.99 | $55.99 | $49.99 | $69.99 | Weight | 99g | 155g | 152g | 229g | https://preview.redd.it/lu7ca0q3604b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b65a75a606bc6af4714062a853910b3bbbfa68 What could be improved upon: - The interchangeable joystick rings are a novelty item for most users. I would recommend them as an additional extra item/accessory that you can add to your order.
- It would be beneficial to have thumbsticks of various sizes. The groundwork is already done and NYXI has made it very easy to swap the sticks. Adding short/medium/tall stick options in the store would make sense.
- Nintendo Switch has a dedicated fanbase and a decent amount of them really enjoy changing the way their console looks. The ability to order sticks of various colors (such as yellow, pink etc) would be a treat to those who like modding their Nintendo Switch and the joycons.
- Additional color schemes and designs/transparent or semi-transparent casings for the controller might appeal to gamers. For example the recently released Zelda themed Nintendo Switch Pro Controller proved out to be a massive hit. Bonus: I got confirmation by NYXI that more colors will be released soon.
- Adding a way to lower or turn off indicator lights would be a welcome change. It's possible to turn off the A/B/X/Y lights but you cannot disable the indicator lights. Be warned: the indicator lights are BRIGHT! If you are gaming in a darker room and have turned down your Switch brightness to preserve your eyes, the indicator lights will stick out like flashlights. There is an easy fix: put a sticker on your NYXI Wizard and cover the indicator lights. However most people don't want to put stickers on their joycons for basic functions.
- Outside of the colors themselves, the plastic used in the controller is a major factor in how the controller feels in the users hands and if users consider it to be "premium". It's worth looking into different kinds of casing materials. Nintendo Switch Pro Controller has a premium semi-glossy finish and the plastic smooth. Another good example is the 8BitDo SN30Pro which uses a matte plastic casing and also feels solid.
- Making the D-pad edges just slightly more rounder would make it more pleasant to use.
- Moving the D-pad closer to the left stick would make it more ergonomic.
- Placement of the back-paddles could be improved on in terms of ergonomics.
- A compact version of the NYXI Wizard might appeal to many.
- Adding adjustable analog triggers might be considered.
- HD-rumble would make gameplay more enjoyable.
- A larger manual would benefit many customers.
- If interchangeable joystick rings ever become sold as accessories then increasing the color and finish options would be a welcome addition to the NYXI selection.

2023.06.04 13:38 Skorreddit Cinematic experience, but UI question
Those yellow click cycles and no way to disable or visually minimize them them? (make it ghostly transparent, or anything)
All those character speech bubbles, no way to completely disable them?
(I'm hoping someone will pop up and say "devs plan to update the UI settings on the Day1 patch" or something, as I didn't follow what's planned. I'm just an impulse-buyer, missing the old Dungeon Siege games.)

2023.06.04 13:25 qUxUp I tested the NYXI Wizard controller for a 27 days on Nintendo Switch OLED. I was bloody surprised by the A/B/X/Y buttons. Here's about a 3220 word old-school text review. Enjoy! :) (there is also a TLDR for those who prefer short posts & photos)
Whether it's GRID, Crysis, Super Smash Bros or something else NYXI Wizard has got you covered (as long as it fits in your hands). https://preview.redd.it/k49q2bhagz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91f994f1e24fa73c4000727b9a07096062471dd0 Disclaimer: This is my second Nintendo Switch related text review in our community. The travel distance of the triggers is pleasantly short and the trigger makes an audiable click when its activated. The short travel distance makes it easier to rapidly press the trigger. The Mobapad M6 Gemini has similar triggers. Hori Split Pad Pro, official Nintendo Switch Joycons & Pro Controller have slightly less responsive triggers in comparison. https://preview.redd.it/9vhv47h5hz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca35f9afc8939377e1b3abed203960177a3671a5 Ergonomics? Among other buttons, you are able to map the back-paddles to triggers (which isn't possible on all joycon back-paddles). https://preview.redd.it/okc69298hz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ecdf60b35665df5c8c2f20d27879a15f153d97e The vibration motor. Most common questions? Can the NYXI Wizard be used to wake up your Nintendo Switch? Yes it can. Will it fit inside a carry case that's meant for Nintendo Switch OLED + Hori Split Pad Pro/Mobapad M6 Gemini? No it won't. However there NYXI has a carry case for it that will fit the entire beast. Can it be used as a controller? Yes it can. https://preview.redd.it/hbzqz6iihz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd391deaeb637c957c43b0b00cc92943da7cf1fa Final thoughts. Rating 1-5 (5 being the best) I did my best to rate various features of the Switch joycons that I own. Model | Nintendo Joycons | Mobapad M6 Gemini | Hori Split Pad Pro | NYXI Wizard | D-Pad | 3 | 4 | 4 | 3.5 | Thumbsticks | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4.5 | Triggers | 3 | 4 | 3.5 | 4.5 | Buttons | 3 | 4.5 | 4 | 4.5 | Build | 5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Ergonomics | 3 | 5 | 5 | 4.5 | Features | 3.5 | 3.5 | 3 | 4 | Included accessories | 4 | 3.5 | 3 | 4.5 | Vibration | 4 | 3 | - | 4.5 | Price | $79.99 | $55.99 | $49.99 | $69.99 | Weight | 99g | 155g | 152g | 229g | https://preview.redd.it/0hlv1k61iz3b1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13243f09426c2717937fc610e1e20e13beb873b3 What could be improved upon: - The interchangeable joystick rings are a novelty item for most users.

2023.06.04 12:12 Thick_Mick_Chick Windows to the Soul: Allie's Assimilation
Note: This is part 2 to Shiloh's Final Battle
Gomez and Tish pulled into their driveway and heard barking. They'd gotten a German Shepherd pup when Guillermo Del Toro's "The Strain" was on T.V. As a joke, but also because they loved the character? They named him Thomas Eichhorst after the Nazi vampire who was one of Guillermo Del Toro's most powerful villains ever created. No one put much thought into the name choice considering they loved all things horror. "What the hell has Eichhorst going off? He knows it's us!" Gomez couldn't understand why he'd bark at the 2 people he NEVER barks at. "I can honestly say I'm not even surprised after this day." Tish exhaled and proceeded to get out of the car. Eichhorst continued the call of his people. "IKE! EICHHORST! KNOCK IT THE HELL OFF!" Gomez yelled so Eichhorst could hear because he was behind the chain link fence in the backyard. He acted like he didn't hear a word. As they got closer to the house? They noticed Eichhorst was not barking at them. He was barking at the woods BEHIND them. "He sees something we don't." Tish matter-of-factly stated. She & Gomez simultaneously turned to look into the woods. Nothing. No noise. Nothing was there. Eichhorst stopped barking as soon as they turned towards the woods. Everything stopped. "What the hell is going on, Cara Mia?" Gomez was starting to experience what Tish had all day long. "I don't know, Mon Cher. I just know I don't like it." Tish continued glancing into the trees. "Probably time to sit back and relax. You've had a bad day that ended a rough week. It's time to just chill." As if knowing what Gomez had just said? His city issued phone started ringing. "NO. ABSOLUTELY not! I'm off tonight! What is so critical that Gomer & Goober can't handle it?" Gomez could feel his blood pressure start to rise. "Find out what it is 1st, Craig, before you go into a meltdown." Tish always called him Craig when she was irritated. "Hello?!" Gomez did a poor job hiding his inconvenience. "Man, it's Ol Shiloh! You gotta get over here, Gomez. It's bad! It's so bad!" Bubba was inconsolable. He was on the verge of tears. "Whoa, slow down, Bubba. What happened?" Gomez tried bringing levity. "We came by to check on him when we were on patrol. He was in the doorway, he was..." Bubba finally started crying. He hated it. The last thing he wanted to do was cry in front of his co-workers. He just simply could not process what the hell they'd rolled up on. "Wait? Ol Shiloh is hurt?" Gomez was trying to process what Bubba was saying. Tish's brow furrowed. She didn't like what she was hearing. "I mean, if you consider hurt dead with his fuckin' throat ripped out to his spinal cord? Then? Yeah, he's hurt." Bubba's anger at his own insecurities was boiling over onto Gomez. "Look, Bubba. Clearly you guys have been going through something over there. I'm headed that way. For future reference? Don't take your shit out on me. I didn't do anything to you." Gomez scolded. "Sorry, Gomez. It's just so..." and Bubba broke down further. Gomez hopped back into the car. "What's going on? Who was that? Don? Bubba?" Tish was concerned. "Hop in the passenger's side if you want to find out. I have to go." Gomez started the engine. Tish walked around and got in.
They pulled into Shiloh's driveway behind the Eerie, Indiana patrol car. Bubba came running out to greet them. "Don is in there with him. The paramedics just got here a few minutes ago." Bubba proceeded to catch Gomez up. He and Tish had been so busy looking at Bubba and the patrol car they didn't notice the bus parked to the side of the house ready to pick up Ol Shiloh.
Tish & Gomez entered the threshold where Ol Shiloh laid on his back, staring at the ceiling. His throat. Jesus, his throat. It was gone. They both were rocking back on their heels.
"We thought it was a big cat attack. It's not. Those bite marks on his throat? That's human not feline." Kennedy was an intelligent little bastard. Arrogant, condescending and holier-than-thou, but very intelligent. Not only would he inform all of the insubordinates around him about everything they didn't know? He'd do it with one hell of a cocky attitude. Ah, Kennedy, and his unsolicited lessons. Time to sit up and listen in class. ..
"When he opened the door? We thought it was an animal attack. Instead? He must've been attacked by humans. The bite marks definitely indicate human but the vicious nature of how deep the wounds went indicate something much more powerful. This was to his spinal cord." Kennedy didn't look like he knew-it-all. He looked perplexed.
"But how could a human bite that deep?" Gomez asked.
"I don't know. I honestly don't know." Kennedy was lost for the 1st time since becoming a paramedic 7 years ago. He'd never seen trauma of this caliber. He hadn't even seen this level of brutality and he'd rolled up on gang fights.
Don and Bubba were both on the front porch, looking in, mouths agape. Gomer & Goober indeed.
Kennedy loaded up Ol Shiloh's body with the assistance of a new EMT that Gomez was fairly certain Kennedy was banging. I mean, he was a total Chad so why wouldn't he?
Don put the camera away in the trunk of the patrol car. At least he had the presence of mind to get the pictures taken before emergency services hit the scene. This was going to rock Eerie, Indiana's foundation. Murder hadn't happened here in anyone's lifetime so this was a "big city" problem they weren't use to dealing with. Nosey people, scared kids, idiot media, this was not what Eerie needed right now. It certainly wasn't what he needed. He had enough of Allie putting out for anyone that would buy her a 6 pack or some cigarettes. Had he known he could've gotten off so cheaply? He sure as hell wouldn't have married her. Unfortunately, for his dumb ass? He actually fell in love with her. Why? He didn't know. Self esteem was never his strong suit. So? After dating 6 months, her only cheating 3 times, then getting pregnant with his baby? He made the perilous decision to try to make an honest woman out of her. Don sincerely doubted if Allie had ever been honest about anything in her life. Coincidentally? When they came back from their Honeymoon 2 weeks later? She'd miscarried. Well, she claimed she miscarried. Don never saw a pregnancy test nor would he have been 💯% sure the baby was his. He would've actually suspected the baby was not. Looking at all of it now, how did he not see it sooner?
"Get to those pics, ASAP Rocky, Don!" Gomez instructed. "Please, don't be an embarrassing Gen Xer who thinks he's so cool and up to date on all of the current lingo. They laugh at us only a little less than Boomers." Tish was still trying to get a handle on all of this and his Goofy antics weren't really in need right now.
The woods to the side of Ol Shiloh's place was the same as the woods to the back of Gomez & Tish's driveway. Eichhorst couldn't understand why his humans didn't acknowledge his bark. He never barked. He especially never barked at his humans. Why did they think he had? Didn't they see the kids in the woods? The little boy? The little girl? How could they not? As far away as the kids were? They smelled funny. He didn't understand. It was the same smell in the air that he sensed right before thunderstorms began and he hid under Gomez and Tish's bed. Humans don't smell like that. It's impossible to explain ozone to a German Shepherd.
The children watched as Ol Shiloh was loaded onto the ambulance and taken away. The couple were getting into their car and the deputies were already headed down the driveway.
"It has began." The dark-haired pale little girl spoke. "Indeed. It has. Let's see what Venerate has in store for the humans now." The boy replied and they headed towards town.
Eerie, Indiana was like any other Midwest, small town. You had your good ol boys & jerks. You had freaks and geeks. You had Bible thumpers and always humpers. Allie Hoff was the "always humpers" category. No one nor nothing could change that. The girl went through life bartering sex and blow jobs for anything she needed. It was a pitiful existence and she knew it. Unfortunately? She never learned and didn't know another way. With Eerie being so small? She was limited to the same "favor givers" over and over, again. Never any new blood. Never any fresh meat. It really stifled what few prospects she had. She looked up from where she was slumped over the bar, in her barstool, nursing a bottle of beer. She happened to look up to the front door. Who was that? She'd never seen him in here before. He was about 6'3" with dark wavy hair and ocean blue eyes. His skin was sun kissed and the muscles showcased the entire package. Wait. WTF? This dude doesn't belong here. Who the hell is he?
He appeared to glide and almost float towards her. He gestured to the empty bar stool next to her. "Is this seat taken?" He smiled with almost glowing white teeth. She locked up. Wait? He wants to sit next to me?
She just shook her head no because she was too shocked to speak. "Hi, I'm Vinny." He extended his hand and his gleaming smile never faltered. "Allie." She finally squeaked out. Guys like this didn't talk to girls like her. "Nice to meet you, Allie." Vinny swung around and attempted to get the bartender's attention. "I'll have a Jack & Coke. For the lady?" Vinny slyly smiled at Allie and she was entranced. "Same" was all Allie could say. He paid for their drinks and handed Allie hers. "I've never seen you before." Allie just finally came out with it. "No, I'm new to the area. You wouldn't have seen me around here." Vinny replied. "Oh? New from where?" Allie was trying to proceed with caution. She did not want to miss out on the opportunity that was this gorgeous specimen of a man. "You've never heard of it, trust me. No one ever has." Vinny still held his smile. "I'd still like to know." Allie returned a smile that was nowhere near as beautiful as Vinny's. "Maybe when we get to know each other better." Vinny conceded. "Oh? So we're going to be getting to know each other better, are we?" Allie coyly pressed. "If I have any say in it? Most definitely." Vinny winked. Damn. That boy was so fine she'd drink his bathwater if he peed in it. He was the perfect vision of the perfect man. It was as if he were tailor made just for Allie. How, though? How could she actually meet her real life Manic Pixie Dream boy? The one she'd dreamed about when she was a little girl. The one who laughed at everything she said. Listened attentively. The one who only had eyes for her no matter how many "rich bitch" girls were around. She'd treat him like a postage stamp. She'd lick every square inch of him and go back for 2nds on the important parts. "Allie, you strike me as a very straightforward girl." Vinny snapped her out of her daze. "I am. No bullshit." Allie replied. "Then? Allow me to be straightforward by telling you that I want to fuck you senseless." Vinny casually stated as if someone asked him for the time. "Well, that is certainly straightforward." Allie was stunned. She wasn't so stunned that she'd let an opportunity like this pass her by. She'd made up her mind that was going to happen as soon as she saw him. "And your answer?" Vinny inquired. "Anywhere. Any place. Any time Any day." Allie assured. With that? They stood from their barstools and headed outside. He even smelled good but not a typical smell. It was like the air at the beginning of a thunderstorm. He smelled like ozone. Ozone??? Was that even possible?
Gomez and Tish got home and plopped on the couch. Eichhorst came through the doggy door and trotted straight to Tish. "I've got leftovers, Piggy. Give me a sec." Tish opened her container from the restaurant. Eichhorst sat patiently waiting for his command.
"What a fuckin' day." Gomez exhaled exhaustedly. "Yeah. It has been. Poor Ol Shiloh. This is just too much." Tish's head continued to try to find rationality where there was one. "I'm getting in the shower and going to bed. You need anything?" Gomez slowly rose up from the couch, joints popping like a glow stick. "No. I'm probably gonna watch a movie and go to bed after." Tish answered. "Horror?" Gomez queried. "What else?" Tish smiled albeit a tired one. Eichhorst jumped up next to her on the couch and laid on her like a lap dog.
Vinny was walking Allie into their local little flop hotel room. It wasn't like she wasn't familiar with the place. The staff referred to her as "Frequent flier". She didn't particularly like the insensitive moniker but couldn't deny its accuracy, either. He closed the door behind them in one failed swoop. This was a practiced talent she noticed. Didn't matter. He was hers tonight.
"Make yourself comfortable." Vinny gestured to the only bed in the room. Allie took a seat. She looked up at him and noticed the ozone smell becoming stronger. Weird. He smelled good but she had never known someone to smell like a thunderstorm.
"I'm going to step into the bathroom for just a minute. I'll be right out." Vinny stepped into their adjacent bathroom. She heard loud music and laughter from somewhere down the hall but couldn't quite place where. It was for the best. Allie had always been, well, vocal. Normally? If a guy is hitting it right? She hit the vocal range of 2 stray cats screwing. She couldn't help it. She was like this every since puberty. It was all the girl thought about. She figured she was probably a nympho although she was never officially diagnosed. She couldn't hear what he was doing. It didn't matter. It wasn't going to affect her and what she was doing. She walked to the curtains and made sure they were completely closed. Although they were, why did she feel like she was being watched? She stripped down with the efficiency of a HazMat worker decontaminating. She heard the bathroom door opening. She kept her back turned so she could make the surprise last as long as possible. Was this the night? The night she could finally reach sexual satisfaction? Was this the dick that was going to change her life? There was a soft green glow coming from the bathroom. Must be a nightlight? She hadn't noticed before. Was it getting brighter? It looked like it was coming towards her. Was it Vinny? Maybe he's videoing me? Not like I'd care, but he could have asked. "Are you recording me?" She asked as she continued to look towards the window. His breathing was different. It seemed labored and, well, wet. It didn't sound like he did earlier, that was for sure. "You okay?" Allie asked. His breathing was raspier, louder, wetter. She decided to bail on her romantic idea of not turning around before he reached her. She turned around and her playful nature and smile fell away immediately.
Her brain couldn't process what her eyes were seeing. It couldn't be real. God knows along with banging any guy she could get her hands on, she used to hit hard drugs back in the day. This had to be a flashback. It had to be a "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" scenario. This? This "Mars Attacks!" bullshit right here? This is not reality.
It's bulbous head was transparent. It looked like a barrel eye fish that she saw on a nature show she used to blaze and chill to. That also explained the soft green glow. It sounded like and looked aquatic. That's where the wet sounds were coming from. It kept advancing. It had a white upper torso with arms and webbed fingers on each hand. What sent her over the edge? From the waist down? It was a human male. All the important parts and in working condition. How? She had no idea. But? When she meant working condition? It was working it's way right towards her. Wait, this thing is going to still have sex with me?! No. Absolutely not. "No. Stop." Allie feebly tried to resist. It did no good. Allie didn't know she was the reason he was even here. This was the whole gameplan all along. It was never a casual hook up.
Venerate had studied numerous different civilizations but Terrestrials always fascinated him. They were so primitive but also entertaining. The Alliance had tried many different hybrid trials between themselves and Terrestrials. They never made it out of infancy. There was a weakness that need strengthened in their own DNA to combine with humans. They worked on it until their resolution was Venerate himself. He has the best of what their kind has to offer with the malleable adaptivity to change himself into anything he needs to to be able to convince Terrestrials to trust him. It worked. Ol Shiloh thought Venerate was his deceased wife. Allie thought he was her dream man. He needs a human to impregnate. Beggars can't be choosers. It worked out perfectly. Allie took one look at his bulbous transparent head, his lower nontransparent stiff head and proceeded to pass out on the bed. It didn't matter. Venerate didn't need her awake to begin their hybrid breeding program. And? Begin the program he did. Everything was coming to fruition via the Alliance's vision. All of their hard work finally got them here. The pale, dark-haired children stood outside the hotel room window, peaking through the crack in the curtain. They were able to relay the mission a success with Venerate making first, second and third contact. Once the younglings come forth? The Alliance can begin occupation and what a glorious day that will truly be! Everything was going so perfectly. This just had to be fool proof. They walked off into the night, smiling so much those obsidian eyes even looked less demonic. This was the beginning of prosperity. This was the beginning of the end of humanity.

2023.06.04 08:12 MythicalRegent4 How do I make a custom texture with transparent parts?
I'm trying to change the length of some textures for some fences, signs, and a cape on a character (I don't crop the actual size of the image). However, when I run the game all the parts that are supposed to be transparent (just on the things I've changed) are now just pitch black. I've been looking through all types of photoshop guides and have searched for others with the same problem, but I've got no fixes. Does anyone know how to do this?

2023.06.04 08:03 fakepoolpooler09 Can someone draw my Roblox character anime style?
2023.06.04 06:45 WaferFinal5640 Ok, back to convoing about 245..
This comic... was so shitty! Probably even shittier than the other shittiest comics i have ever read in this comic. How did Leuce wreck her place? All she did was do smth Hades and shit, but she never went THAT far to ruining or disturbing one's house like Persephone (or per-shit-phone). I know Leuce is suppised to be like a villain during these few 2-3 chapters, but it makes her seem like shes a victim, and perse is the villain.
"Shes your auntie now, Ares" Rachel, what the living incest is this shit? Didnt you say that you wouldnt include this shit? He fricking kissed Perse during her teenage years, and now you're telling me he kissed his auntie?
The artstyle here is shitty as well. I know Rachel is trying to make everyone seem so... emotional and fluid like, but theres nothing emotional here, and besides that, Ares lost his shiny-ish gold color, now he looks cheese yellow.
Besides that, what the living hell is the comment section in this chapter? Are they just gonna continue ignoring whatever Perse did to Leuce?
Yes, ik i sound angry BECAUSE I AM ANGRY. Im pissed, everything about this comic is just pure bullshit. Sounds like some ripoff of those stupid drama shows and they try to change it up but they made it worse. Hades looks like an old buff-ass version of pinnochio, Perse looks like a pink-version of amber heard with a personality combining those 6 year olds you would find in roblox with amber heard, the list goes on. I really, really need Minthe back on, because she's the only character who seems to have a good arc or seems to be relatable or even have some good points.

2023.06.04 05:26 uhquemalweon Steve vs Roblox Character!?
I see people really like to calculate things from Minecraft to see the EXAGERATE strenght of Steve, with the tons and tons of gold in his invetory, but i feel that in roblox games your character can do some speed, durability, strenght and hax feats that could make him win to the brute power of steve.
Round 1: Steve vs Roblox character with abilities from 5 games you can think of
Round 2: Steve vs Roblox character with abilities from 10 games games you can think of
Round 3: Steve vs Roblox character with all abilities you can think of from roblox games
Round 4: Steve in creative mode (Or any thing like a mod that boost him like the creative mode) vs Roblox character with all abilities you can think of from roblox games
I'll research a little bit myself

2023.06.04 05:26 Razvouis [WEB-BROWSER] [2014-2017] 8-Bit Platformer, similar to Roblox/Growtopia
Platform: Web Browser (Personally found it on Google Chrome)
Genre: Sidescrolling PlatformeRole-play
Estimated Year of Release: 2014-2017
Graphics/Art Style: 2D 8-Bit Pixels
Notable Characters: You could play as anyone you created
Notable Game-play Mechanics: You could create the walking, idle, jumping and sitting animations (In-Game sprite sheet) of your characters. The game was similar to Growtopia/Roblox, you could join worlds and put any type of block down and customize the textures, and you could also share your characters and give textures/sprites for others to use/change. You could use the in-game chat to talk to other players.
Other Details: When you typed in the in game chat, the letters popped up above your characters head as you typed them and floated off after they stayed on screen for a while. I remember the title having the word "Maker" in it, but this may not be the case.
If you have any other questions, please post them in the comments. I really wanna find this game lol.

2023.06.04 05:22 Worried_Reality_9045 The Finale was about sin and repentance
Those who found freedom were in a state of penitence—sorrow or contrition for what they had done or left undone. Barry, a hitman turned actor turned unconvincing family man, reacted to being shot in the chest by his former acting teacher, Gene Cousineau, with total resignation: "Oh wow," he flatly declared, blood spreading through his shirt.
Barry died because he wanted a legacy that was far from the truth. He lived the lie that he was a good person, but he’s never taken responsibility for his crimes. Barry’s obsession with Christianity showed he was only interested in views that aligned with his morals, or lack thereof. However, in his final moments, was he repentant? Was death his freedom from constantly pretending on this earthly plane?
Gene’s biggest sin was knowingly taking blood money from Barry. As a person's life is considered the property of God, Judaism forbids the taking of blood money for the life of a murdered victim. He was literally Judas, but Judas had the decency to end his life after betraying Jesus. Gene betrayed his girlfriend, her father, and his son for blood money. Talking to the journalist was him getting "paid" in notoriety. Trying to get the movie made was also a means of getting more blood money, if not national attention. Gene’s final sin was killing another in cold blood. Barry was no threat at the time of his death and was willing to turn himself in. Now Gene is serving life in prison for his offenses against God.
Sally killed a would-be assassin at the end of Season 3 and spent most of this season racked with guilt and haunted by her PTSD. She became a very depressed, drunk, and useless parent. Confessing her sins to her son after her irrational behavior led them to be abducted changed her relationship with him. She finally acts like a mother and takes Johnny to safety by abandoning Barry instead of seeking him out in peril. Towards the end of the episode, she still seems a bit needy for approval, but she’s avoiding romantic relationships.
By the end of Season 4, Monroe Fuches had evolved from Barry’s bumbling handler into a one-man proprietor of an assassin network. Avuncular Fuches in a tank top and full-body tattoos was very self-aware and transparent about his transformation. Getting beaten up in prison forced Fuches to accept who he was: "a man with no heart," as he declares to NoHo Hank when they stand off in the final episode. However, he’s the first character to repent after having his delusions stripped away. He saves Johnny and forsakes his misguided need for vengeance. Fuches walks off free, but he moves towards the darkness.
The goofy NoHo Hank was forced to abet the death of his lover, Cristobal, and ugly-cry on multiple occasions, but he never accepted responsibility for Cristobal’s murder. Hank’s death was anticlimactic at best, as his final gesture on screen was to reach out to the golden effigy of his slain lover. This golden Cristobal is much like the golden calf of The Ten Commandments: It brings upon a downfall for those who worshipped this lie. Was it Hank’s bizarre delusion that he'd be with Cristobal in the afterlife? If Hank had told the truth, he would have had to continue living without Cristobal. Was he resigned to dying at the end, or was the truth too hard to bear even in his last moments?
People can’t change if they truly don’t want to stop their destructive cycles. Barry put a lot of people in danger by seeking a "normal life" when he knew he was leading an abnormal existence. Barry should have stopped killing and turned himself in. Unfortunately, Barry continuously weaseled his way out of paying for his crimes, to the detriment of others.
Sally was a former victim who reaped the benefits of playing the victim and profited temporarily from distorting the truth. Sally then chased a man who lied to her, put her in harm’s way, verbally abused her, and humiliated her. She had no business staying at Barry’s apartment after she dumped him or going on the run with him. She should have reported killing the biker in self-defense not only to find relief from her guilt but also to stop Barry’s crime spree. It became apparent as she assaulted a coworker in the bathroom that she enjoys danger and was a moth to flame when it came to having dalliances with bad men.
Gene should have given the money Barry gave him to the police. Gene should have honored his girlfriend’s memory by not talking to the reporter behind her father’s back. However, Gene’s very nature is to pretend and to be deceptive. Upon his return from Israel after shooting his son, he claimed to be a new man, but he was still hungry for fame.
Having a life with Cristobal in Santa Fe wasn’t enough for NoHo Hank. NoHo Hank wanted a kingdom, but like all kingdoms, his crumbled into nonexistence. Hank’s fear was his motivation for much of the evil he orchestrated. As a consequence, Hank repeatedly endangered Cristobal’s life to hide his true ambitions and secret relationship. Ultimately, he felt he had to sacrifice Cristobal to save his empire built on sand.
Fuches was an impostor living vicariously through Barry and other men like him. In prison, he finally became his own man. Fuches did change, and he did repent by saving Barry’s son and leaving Barry alone. Fuches and Sally did what the other characters could have done but chose not to— they walked away from the carnage.

2023.06.04 03:37 Drekaban Unpopular Opinion
Transparent World doesn't seem THAT useful in the world of Demon Slayer. To the contrary it seems like it would be an overload of (mostly useless) information. Now for the explanation it was given as to how it can turn the tide of battle, its a fairly cool ability. But for what is essentially the last major upgrade in this world, the pinnacle of power to the Demon Slayer verse, it feels almost pointless. The average Blood Demon Art, or heck even low-level BDA's, seem more practical and useful than TW. I feel like as a final upgrade of power it is only there to play off of Muzan's ability to rearrange his organs so it works as a good tool to go up against him.
TDLR, out of all the endgame power ups I've seen across anime, Transparent World feels like one of the most contrived and not all that useful.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I was literally talking about the 'transparency' factor of Transparent World. Not the heightened reaction speed factor. You could give heightened reaction speed to any character and with enough of it they would eventually outclass every other character in their series, the same with basic factors like strength, intelligence, resistance, etc. I was just analyzing the unique faculties of TW that separate it from other buffs in pop culture.
