The only known mental diagnosis I have is that I have Asperger's syndrome. I have a high-functioning autism.
Ever since I was a child, I never really fit in with any groups. I was always excited to go on adventures with people but would always wind up being ignored or left behind for whatever reason. Always picked last for things like sports even though I am highly active (at least for the lifestyle I live at home and work) and present myself with an optimistic personality. I know that's ironic, given the nature of this post.
Now, having grown up, I've lost my mother whom I was very close to at the age of 18 and ever since, I've felt extremely lonely and distant from everyone. Every conversation I have feels extremely awkward in some manner or another and I'm so used to being ignored or treated like I'm not important that I will immediately try and hurry the conversation to its end so I'm not inconveniencing the other party with my pointless drivel. I don't think quickly on my feet at all and I severely struggle with participating in basic conversation. Social cues are very hard for me to pick up but every interaction I have is geared towards pleasing the other person as much as I can and being as likeable as possible.
I often find myself getting caught up into my own thoughts, kind of stuck in my own world thinking about things in far too much detail, whether it be an interaction I had with someone (I often take offense far too easily to others' jokes about me) or, more often than not, things like the fragility of human life and the expansiveness of space. My autism disorder I mentioned earlier makes it extremely difficult to focus on a conversation or something like a movie/video game cutscenes. I am creative and talented with things like music and technology, but most of the time when I'm thinking of a cool idea, I won't "follow through" with it and kind of just forget what I'm thinking about before the proverbial light bulb turns on. Part of this can probably be attributed to my discovery and use of marijuana edibles over the past year.
I can't count the amount of close people in my life past the fingers of one hand. I'm still trying to do my best and not give up - I'm 29 and try to work out three or four times a week and eat healthier. The social aspect is so difficult, though. I am legitimately terrified of interacting with people outside of my own apartment. I'm considering therapy but I am upset with my family and my two close friends/brothers because I have been so distant and they've forgotten about me. I know that's my fault, but I also have a huge problem with making myself unavailable to see if others will notice.
I would wager that more people than I think feel the same way about their own lives, and if you do, I hope you have found some purpose in your life and that you are at least somewhat satisfied with the quality of your existence. If you made it through all this, kudos and thank you so much for listening.

One of the funniest things José Mourinho did in his early days at Chelsea, back when his toxic vibe still felt light and fun and only slightly vicious and mean, was to stand at the entrance to the Old Trafford pitch before a Carling Cup quarter-final and make a point of energetically shaking hands with every Manchester United player as they walked on to their own pitch.
United’s players looked bemused but went through with it all the same, submitting to the full routine of neck-cuffs and cheek-pinches, albeit with a weirdly emasculating sense of being ambushed, permitted to take part in a game at their own house by the grace of Mourinho’s hand.
Chelsea won 2-1. Nobody has really done anything like it in the years since. But it was hard not to feel an echo, a sense of United doing it to themselves this time, an act of self-handshake, in the sight of Sir Alex Ferguson on the pitch greeting every United player as they walked past pre-match at Saturday’s FA Cup final, out there like the ghost of Hamlet’s father, a vision of the glorious, disappointed past.
Really? Someone thought this was a good idea? As opposed to, say, a terrible one? The entire last decade at Old Trafford has been spent wrestling with visions of the past, trying and failing to shake that terrifying oedipal image, the unmatchable glories of Sir Alex, who was better than you who gave you all this, and now you’re ruining it. And now, oh look, there he is, literally standing there in the flesh allowing you to touch his hand before the most legacy-ridden game of the season. Daddy’s here. And he’s really, really disappointed.
There is at least some information to be taken from this spectacle. Never mind the self-immolating instincts of everyone involved in encouraging Ferguson to loom, figuratively and in person, over proceedings on the pitch; or indeed Ferguson’s own blindspot in allowing this to happen. His presence is at least a visible reminder that the slight but tangible gains of Erik ten Hag’s first season must be seen in context.
This is a club still stuck in neutral gear, still thrashing about trying to move forward – and not just battling the zombified glories of the past, which can be defeated quite easily if the decision is taken to move on from that iconography rather than retailing it for all it is worth; but more specifically by the appalling muddle created by the Glazer family across that period.

2023.06.04 22:09 Corn-Farmer69 Slaughterhouse - The Weasel Chronicles
We have raised chickens for over 20 years. Never had too many predator issues, the occasional raccoon or possum might sneak in once a year or so. We kept the old chicken coop sealed up well enough (with proper ventilation). Had the Premier 1 electric poultry fence. We moved to a new farm almost two years ago and just had our second mass killing occur last week. Only suitable location for a new coop build was on the edge of the wood lot. I built the coop myself. Went a little overboard, 16x25’ but very happy with it. We extended the electric fencing to over 300 feet to give our sixty-some birds ample foraging space in safety. Last year, in the course of two nights all 55 birds were dead. Gruesome scene, body parts everywhere. It took some research to settle on the weasels. Carcasses with the innards torn out, heads missing, etc. I figured they were getting int through the ventilation gap where the exterior walls meet the trusses/roof. I installed heavy-duty hardware cloth over all openings and proceeded to rebuild the flock. Everything had gone well until last week when I went down south with my brother to visit family. My wife stayed on the farm with the children and animals. I got a phone call a few days after we’d left that chickens were disappearing. All 35 recently-feathered chicks were no where to be found. Multiple chicken corpses lay within the run. I tried trouble shooting with her over the phone. The electric fence seemed to be dead, but a weasel could get through that anyway (turned out energizer had gone bad). I asked her to look around inside of coop and patch any holes big enough for a mouse to get through. Every night more chickens were killed and she felt hopeless, as did I. By the time I returned all but 4 of our many birds were dead. I found that the hardware cloth had been torn aside near the roof/wall junction. Patches of light-brown fur and scat were present, as well. I reinforced the entire area and haven’t had trouble yet. I’m desperate for anyone with experience with similar trouble. It keeps me up at night. I’ve set traps to no avail. Many times I’ve come out with my shotgun in hand to loud disturbances; but always hear the critter rustle back into the woods before I’m anywhere near. What else can I do? These weasels are very intelligent and their thirst for blood is insatiable.

What is The Summer About?
The Summer is an animated fantasy adventure film, produced by CoMix Wave Films, chronicles a high school girl and a mysterious young man trying to prevent a series of disasters across Japan. Commissioned in 2020, the film is both written and directed by Makoto Shinkai.

The rest of the "investigation" took 8 days to complete, and there was no real transparency on the progress. However, today they've cancelled my previous reservation and refunded me* the remaining amount of my stay and a bit extra, unsure how it was calculated. Something like 75% refund while only 66% of the reservation time was remaining.
All in all, I am satisfied with this. I will continue to use AirBnB.

So I started taking 10mg Solifenacin at night about a year ago and it's helped somewhat. I'm a 43 year old man and in good health, work out fairly regularly, 5'7, 170lbs.
I know that Solifenacin makes people sweat somewhat less, and this concerns me as I'm into martial arts like BJJ where people sweat a lot (haven't been able to do it since I got in this med for other reasons though) and I'm interested in taking a hot yoga class that is coming up. I have also used a sweatlodge and sauna before ever taking it.
So my main question is: has anyone on Solifenacin here done a hot yoga class, or if not, have you used a sauna or sweatlodge and if so, did you get heat stroke? Were you ok?
The question is really mostly about hot yoga as that's what I'd be doing this time, but the others are equally if not more grueling, so I thought I'd include them. I have heard that hot yoga classes range from 80 degrees to 108 degrees. That's fairly hot.
My urologist told me if I was ever going to use a sweatlodge or sauna that I'd be best to take 2 days off the Solifenacin to get it out of my system as heat stroke/dehydration is possible, and for sure i'd do that with a sweatlodge or serious weight cutting, but for a hot yoga class I'd rather not because this class is part of an all day Wim Hof course and I want a good night's sleep the night before and it's hard to sleep from constant urination when I don't take my solifenacin.
I'm going to talk to my doctor about it, and also try to find out exactly how hot the yoga class is, but I'm thinking that PROBABLY if I drink plenty of gatorade and/or other electrolytes with water both before, during and after the hot yoga class, and get up and leave the class if I start to feel light headed (I'd tell the instructor ahead of time) that I'd probably be ok.
What do you guys think? Is hot yoga probably safe for me while on Solifenacin? And has anyone here done hot yoga, sauna, sweatloge or anything else cause them to sweat profusely while on it, and if so, were you ok?

The past six months of my life have been hell. I’ve been dealing with a intermittent stalling/misfiring issue nobody can figure out the exact cause and I keep endlessly throwing money at it to no avail. I am in debt to this and haven’t made money from my job in 2 months due to all the car repairs and I had to drop out of school due to the repairs. My life is now hell thanks to my car, a 2014 VW Jetta S class 5 speed 124k miles. Below I will list off everything that’s happened in the past couple months - Valve seal issue (blue smoke out the exhaust) - Car starts stalling when exiting off a highway and putting the car in neutral, battery light turns on I lose power steering but not my brakes thankfully. I think it’s finally time to repair the valve seal so I go get that done. - Valve seal fixed, didn’t replace the cat immediately because it was so expensive. - car keeps stalling, bring it back mechanic says it’s the cat causing stalling because it’s plugged with oil. - replace the cat, still stalling - bring it into a VW dealership, the only thing they found off about my car was a faulty knock sensor. Replaced it. Seemingly solved my issues until an hour ago when my car misfired and almost stalled but I was able to downshift and prevent it from stalling somehow.
I don’t want to mislead anyone by over describing the stalling symptoms, but here’s what it’s like from the drivers seat. While driving the car will misfire and I’ll feel a harsh bump and I’ll lose my ability to speed up. No matter how much gas it won’t speed up. And if I throw it into neutral the car pretty quickly will stall and die. Thankfully, if I pull over to the other side of the road, it will start back up perfectly fine if I give it about twenty to thirty seconds. If I try to start it back up immediately it will go “Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch” and shake pretty violently and not turn over. Take the key out, give it 30 seconds. And then it starts up no problem. I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this issue is causing extreme stress in my life. I barely can see my girlfriend because my car is unsafe to drive. When driving, I’m always on high alert and stressed waiting for my car to misfire and stall out. I keep spending hundreds of dollars trying to fix it and seemingly everything I do doesn’t solve it. I thought bringing it to the dealership would solve it but it did not. The faulty knock sensor might have helped but my car is still misfiring and stalling out every 150 miles or so. Where I live it’s typical to go do senior week, where you and your friends go to the beach and rent a house. This is something I can afford since I have saved up my money for years.
All of my friends are going. My “best friend” wouldn’t let me go along with his group despite me knowing all of them for years. I was going to go with another group but they didn’t want to include me in their plans, so I dropped out. I have a beach house of my own but I would be sitting alone in it while all of my other friends have fun and I can’t invite myself along with anyone else’s plans
Im now going to be stuck at home with my Dad; who’s going to scream at me every day for not working since I scheduled a bunch of days off. I don’t feel good. I feel like nobody wants me around and I feel defeated. I don’t feel wanted or appreciated despite doing mountains of favors for everyone around me and spending time with my friends for so many years. This suggestion is to allow players to select alternate equipment for each class and some suggestions for that alternate equipment. The goal would be to provide meaningful gameplay choices but still have each class maintain their relative role.
What each class would keep constant:
The gunner deploys a medical drone that lasts for a short duration. Similar to his shield the drone has a limited number of charges, must recharge between uses, and returns to the gunner after its duration completes. While deployed the drone will prioritize reviving nearby allies with a limited number of revives. The drone will also slowly heal nearby allies prioritizing the ally with the lowest health. If everyone is up and at max health the drone simply hangs out by the Gunner. While it does not create as much space as the shield, the drone can get to allies in hard to reach places, and can top off health bars. Players choose between more deployments or more revives per deployment. Additionally, if the drone is deployed before all dwarves go down, it can prevent a team wipe while its still active.
Engineer - Customized Patrol Bot
The engineer can place down a disabled patrol bot, and he or his allies can complete the hack minigame to activate it. While active, the patrol bot follows the engineer, attacking nearby enemies. The patrol drone can be recalled like the sentry gun, and has a limited amount of ammo that must be refilled. When out of ammo the patrol bot will fly close to the engineer for easy refilling. Unlike the sentry, the patrol bot can take damage and be destroyed forcing it to go on cooldown. It's health regenerates over time on its own while activated. It's projectile sparks and swirls through the air, can stick in enemies and terrain, and explodes like a firework at the end of a timed fuse or when the Scout presses the reload key. Before it explodes the projectile itself produces light. When it explodes it has a small chance to fear enemies but does very little damage; instead it produces a rain of shimmering bits that hang in the air providing ambient illumination in a wide area for many seconds. Unlike the flare gun the star projector pistol does not require terrain to produce light, but it is limited to a magazine size of 1, requiring reloading between shots.
Driller - Blasting Charge
The driller throws a blasting charge which resembles a bundle of sticks of dynamite with a burning fuse. At the end of a duration the blasting charge explodes forward in several consecutive blasts in the direction it was originally thrown, carving terrain and damaging enemies. Compared to C4, the blasting charge is excellent for taking down enemies in a straight line and for producing tunnels. The blast radius per explosion is less than C4, but it has multiple explosions to make up for it, and more ammo than C4.

What each class would keep constant:
- Gunner: Zipline
- Engineer: Platform Gun
- Scout: Grappling Hook
- Driller: Drills
- Gunner: Shield Generator
- Engineer: Sentry Turret
- Scout: Flare Gun
- Driller: C4
The gunner deploys a medical drone that lasts for a short duration. Similar to his shield the drone has a limited number of charges, must recharge between uses, and returns to the gunner after its duration completes. While deployed the drone will prioritize reviving nearby allies with a limited number of revives. The drone will also slowly heal nearby allies prioritizing the ally with the lowest health. If everyone is up and at max health the drone simply hangs out by the Gunner. While it does not create as much space as the shield, the drone can get to allies in hard to reach places, and can top off health bars. Players choose between more deployments or more revives per deployment. Additionally, if the drone is deployed before all dwarves go down, it can prevent a team wipe while its still active.
Engineer - Customized Patrol Bot
The engineer can place down a disabled patrol bot, and he or his allies can complete the hack minigame to activate it. While active, the patrol bot follows the engineer, attacking nearby enemies. The patrol drone can be recalled like the sentry gun, and has a limited amount of ammo that must be refilled. When out of ammo the patrol bot will fly close to the engineer for easy refilling. Unlike the sentry, the patrol bot can take damage and be destroyed forcing it to go on cooldown. It's health regenerates over time on its own while activated. Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .

- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

Now, I'll say right away, if you enjoy having sex or like to show yourself off or whatnot, no shame in that. That's completely your choice, and there's nothing wrong with it. Sex is one of the most natural things we do as humans.
But, in the gay community specifically, there's this stereotype that often comes up that gay men are always slutty or hypersexual, which simply is just not true. There's so many of us, it just isn't true for all of us. And sadly, many guys in our community feel a pressure to act a certain way or be a certain way. Like I have a bunch of other friends in the community who are incredibly depressed on the inside, hate themselves, hate their bodies, yet they have sex pretty often and go on Twitter making sex based accounts to show off their bodies. And after listening to them rant about things, you realize that for most of them, they don't want to be doing these things or enjoy these things. They often do these things because they feel pressured to fit in, or like if they're not hot enough or sexual enough, no one will love them.
Even many movies showing off the community portray us in this light as if we just always want to have sex, or can't commit, or whatnot. Well fuck that, I want a true romance. I want love, not lust. I want connection, not a hookup. And I want the other men in my community to understand that there is someone out there for you, and if you don't want to be hypersexual, you don't have to be. If you are trying to post sexual content or look a certain way solely because you think that's what other guys want, that isn't authentic and that isn't fair to yourself. Who cares about the pressure in the community. Be yourself, and the right person for you will come along. And learn to love yourself in the process.

I F25 dated my ex Will M28 for about 3 years. During that time, I met his best friend, D (M28).We all got very close and starting hanging out together. This was a long distance relationship and my ex and his friend lived on the opposite coast. When things started splintering between me and Will, D tried to stay out of the issue and tried to not pick sides but was equally supportive to both of us separately. When my ex and I broke up, D and I continued to be friends. We used to call each other sometimes but mostly texted. I hadn’t seen him for 3 years in person but he won a free vacation to a state near me. I told him that I wanted to see him and he was equally excited. There’s always been a flirty undertone with us but I know that he is still friends with Will and I didn’t want to assume that something would happen, even though I hoped it did.
In the background of this story, I have been FWB with one of my closest friends Joel M27 for a year. We dated for one. When I told him about this trip, he freaked out. He told me that I’m a terrible person and D is equally as bad. He said we shouldn’t have continued being friends after me and Will broke up and that I’m going to end up sleeping with D on this trip. It was around 4 a.m. I've been awake for a bit over 24 hours, in total depression. I had just lost one of my best friends in a car accident, and I was to blame. My friend and I were drifting in the desert during the night, until suddenly a camel came in my way, and I crashed into it. I woke up around 24 hours ago with a mild concussion, many bruises all over my body, and a few broken bones. However, my friend wasn't so lucky. When the camel shattered my windshield, a big chunk of glass went through his chest, resulting in near instant death. I was in a coma for almost a week after the crash, and when I awoke, my hospital room was completely empty, with not even a single flower in sight.I attempted to get up, but was physically unable to do so. The room was the most dull and traumatizing place a person could be in. The way that the room felt so artificial, from the recliner they put in front of me to the taste of the water, felt unreal. There weren't any windows either, so I had to just stay in the artificial light that barely lit up the room. The bed itself felt too hard in some places and too soft in others.So it was just a room full of discomfort. I just laid there on my bed for a few minutes until a doctor came into the room and started to greet me. He started taking tests, checking my pulse, and doing all the doctorly things a doctor would do. However, the time for him to tell me the bad news had come. "Good morning, Abdulsalam, My name is Mansour Al Zamil, and I have been your doctor for the past six days while you were in a coma." The doctor had said I had stopped breathing, and I could feel my throat start to close up. Tears started to blur my vision. "I'm sorry to be the one to inform you of this, but your friend Sami passed away during the car crash. His parents wanted..." I couldn't hear anymore. The tears stopped coming, and my vision was being blurred by something other than the tears that had been pouring out of my eye sockets, to the point where you could hear the tears start dripping on the floor. Even though i had been laying down, i could feel my knees start to buckle, and suddenly the room temperature went up by around 30 degrees, to the point where I started to sweat. Suddenly my doctor jumped from fear, but I didn’t understand why, I looked to the left and saw the door open up, and the outline of a person since my vision was still blurred. “You fucking psychopath!” Shouted the person in a womanly voice “ you’re the reason that my cousin is dead! Why would you be doing something so dangerous like that and risking his life!” I had lost my voice. It was as if I was in a dream, where I couldn’t speak or move. I was just able to stare. Stare at the person who was shouting and crying. Stare at the person who had lost a beloved one. Stare at the person who fell onto the floor crying. Stare at the result of my actions. And stare at the result of my mistake. I started to gain my vision back, and I could see one of the most beautiful people I had ever seen. Even though this wasn’t the time or the place, I couldn’t help but stare in awe. As soon as I saw her face I regained the feelings in my leg, regained my sight, and i regained my voice. The I only thing I could utter was- “I’m sorry” “I wish you could have died instead!” She said before running out of the room I didn’t know what to tell her. I had done a horrible act. I was the reason that Adam had died, and the reason for her depression and her current state. I didn’t deserve to talk, I didn’t deserve to think, I didn’t even deserve to live. Ever since I got the news of Adam’s death, I wished I could’ve died instead of him, and obviously every one I knew agreed with me since no one had came to visit me in the six days that I was at the hospital.

I can eliminate harsh shadows but features of the bamboo steamer still cast shadows onto itself. Also, I still get specular highlights on more reflective objects such as plates. My aim is to scan food, so I really want to achieve a set up that allows me to eliminate them. Would a polarising filter on the lens work to an extent to partially polarise the light? Or am I going to have to cross-polarise the whole set up? Cheers |
